Just ate here and HAD to leave a review. First off, all the bad reviews this place has left me skeptical about coming here. My friends and I went anyway. Its lunch time and for $8.99/person you cant beat that price for all you can eat. I walked in ready for disappointment. The service was very friendly, attentive and welcoming. Our first plates we were pleasantly surprised. Everything tasted good if not it was GREAT. I didnt come across anything that screamed "THIS IS BUFFET FOOD" aside from desserts but all buffets have the same ones. THEY HAVE DONUTS AND I LOVE THEM. Some of the food was just warm not hot but with how great everything tasted it wasnt a big deal. As we were there they started adding freshly cooked foods to replace the others and it was all amazing. DEFINITELY recommend this place. I will definitely be coming here more often. An Asian buffet in the middle of nowhere, but went because it was one of the better options in the greater Portland area. Super nice service and clean space, quiet and yet still busy. Very cheap in regards to price, spend under $20 for my admission and a drink! I love a buffet. As a Uber driver I like them because I can just up and leave when I get a call. I was trapped in Forest Grove so finding a buffet was a great idea for waiting for my next ride. I have long contended that there is some Chinese buffet consortium where they all use the same items. Basically all of the food is from this typical stable. Unfortunately everything fried was dry on the outside, mushy underneath and then dried out in the middle. The salt and pepper shrimp was mushy. The hot and sour was neither not nor sour. The sushi was pretty. Could have used a little more seasoning but I've had worse. Unfortunately it was pretty dirty. Horrific choice of drink cups showed all sorts of dirt. Table had ants. There was self serve ice cream which skeeves me out but I got a call right before I could dip into an unscooped container. Oh well. So the service was good. Im not sure how this place has passed health inspection. There was flys flying around while I tried to enjoy my oily food. There was not much to choose from food wise. The food was not being replaced. Everything looked old and oily. The only thing that was good was the pot stickers. The sushi looked and felt so dry. As I tried to pick a piece off the plate sushi was stuck to the plate. It is also extremely humid and moist inside the "buffet." Extremly dirty our table was sticky and dirty. The windows and doors need a good cleaning. The bathroom needs work. WATCH YOUR STEP! There are wet floor signs everywhere. The floors are not wet there are exempt oily and slippery. Would give this 0 star if I could. Just another instance of bad fake chinese/american. Everything tastes like cornstarch, or if not that sort of dish, then it tastes like nothing. "Spicy" does not seem to be a word that is understood. Be aware that the salt and pepper shrimp are head and tails on - so by definition are not cleaned and they do not prepare them so that the poop is cleaned out naturally with a pre-soak. And when you try to take the shells off to eat them, the meat is just mush. Other shrimp dishes stink of fish, which means bad shrimp. Tempura roll is actually tasty, but is a ball of dough, which is NOT tempura! read more

Update! This place is actually not too bad, I said I would never come here again but I have developed some what of a buffet addiction. I have discovered that the best time to come in is around 1pm, all the food was filled, nothing was hard and there is more people at that time so they keep putting out more food. The only thing I wish they could fix is the dessert bar, all the cakes are always hard and I really wish they could put an ice cream machine instead of the cooler that they have. They get one star because zero is not an option. My family and I have come her quite a few time and every time we end up on the toilet or feel horrible all evening. BUT this last trip was our last EVER! We ended up going around 6:30pm that's a pretty late dinner for us but I'm sure normal for most. More then half the food was cool. Not cold but below standard I'm sure but the kicker was when my family and I were eating desert and my husband said his donut tasted weird. He opened it up and it was MOLDED!!!! We all ate them!!! I know mold can't kill you but yuck! The waitress told us that they just got her shipment in and she even brought the box of them over for us to see. I don't care if you just got it in check the food you are putting out before feeding it to people! She offered us $8 off our $42 check. We left needless to say feeling grossed out. Being new to the area, I had to try out what seems to be the only all you can eat Chinese buffet. It was really disappointing! I came in right at lunch time and the food was cold and some of the dishes seemed to be heated up left over from the day before. In addition, the place did not look sanitary e.g., dirty counter tops, floors, tables. I'm surprise that this restaurant passed the health inspector(s). I really wanted to like this place, but it was very disappointing. We were there at around midday on a Monday morning. Most of the food was cold or barley warm. I am sure most of the items were re-heated from the previous days leftovers, they just looked old and dried up. Nothing seemed fresh (except the vegetable dishes which were ok but had no flavour). They did bring out some freshly cooked items later on that looked much better, but it was too late for us. The whole place was just rather depressing, and although the staff were fairly nice, it was just a disappointing experience all round. They should not serve up old food from the previous day. I really enjoyed this buffet! Let's start off making sure everyone is on the same page, here. When I want a Chinese buffet, I'm not looking for gourmet cuisine, I'm looking for a bunch of options of delicious Americanized Chinese food (hoping for a large amount of fried foods). And I feel that this place really did the job. There are 5 islands/stations with food options, not including a dessert area. 1 was a sushi bar (notice: I personally am not a fan of sushi, so I didn't try any. However, there was a worker behind the counter making fresh sushi the whole time I was there during dinner rush), 1 was a salad/vegetable/fruit bar, and the other 3 had the wide variety of Chinese food. The positives: The food itself was great! Orange chicken, lo mein, Mongolian beef, and coconut shrimp were some of my favorite dishes they had. They also had some fresh chicken skewers that my wife really enjoyed, as well as a soup station. There was a fair amount of seafood options, but one again, I'm not a huge seafood fan so didn't partake in them. One thing I was impressed to see was how often they exchanged the older food for hot and fresh food. It seemed it was like every 5 minutes the cooks would come out to replace something else. The price was a steal. $8 for lunch buffet, $12 for dinner (but apparently $11 all day on Sunday), you can't beat that for the amount of food/quality you get. The negatives: the egg flower soup was really oily, I wish they served hot tea with the meal, and honestly the food was great but I wouldn't call it exceptional (except for those coconut shrimp, those were like little sweet salty pieces of heaven, especially when fresh). Wife N and I felt like buffet food tonight...or at least like eating some. Tuesday evening, 6:00. Showed up to the most recent of what has been a history of failed buffet restaurants in this space. But, never one to allow a past place's failure to cloud my judgment of the current one, we pushed forward. This most recent incarnation bills itself as "American, Chinese and Sushi", along with pictures of diddly-scrumptious sushi and plates of Chinese food on the bigger-than-life window posters. The place seats perhaps a hundred so it's not terribly huge but it's big enough they could run through a fair number of people on a busy night with little to no wait. There were perhaps 30 other diners there during our visit. So, as with any average buffet, you will have your pretty good stuff, your average stuff, and your "holy cow, I can't believe I A) took a piece of that and B) actually managed to choke it down" stuff. Five rows of food, with each containing around 10-12 dishes. The decent: baked mussels with this cheesy-mayo stuff on top. I recall, roughly five years ago, in this very seat, I rated 3 buffet's ago's mussels as so bad the word "horrible" actually escaped my lips loud enough that all two other diners in the place heard it. These ones tonight were actually pretty decent. I had seconds. On purpose. The general Chinese style hot dishes (Mongolian beef, spicy chicken, etc.) were pretty good. The mainstream buffet stuff was decent. As with typical Chinese buffets, a LOT is deep fried--I'd say at least 50% of what was placed out was deep fried: onion rings, six kinds of fried chicken and shrimp with various sauces, spring rolls, etc. They had a baked salmon that was tasty but very overcooked by the time it was getting down to the dregs. Fortunately, after a bit they brought a fresh one out and that one was much better. I'd say 4*s for the baked salmon. Most of the food there was decent, for buffet food. The spring rolls were very onion-y. In all, General Chinese buffet food: 3.5*s "Sushi" in the back left corner. Yes, "sushi". Quotes intended. You know, the kind of quotes that denote that something really isn't what it claims to be. Take for instance your "friends". They're not your friends. They're your "friends." And this was "sushi". The (I think) Salmon was pale. You know the color that salmon gets when you hopelessly overcook it? That whitish salmon-y color that's best described as a pale pasty pastel powder pink with just a little splash of coral in there just for good measure? That was the color of the raw salmon sitting atop the rice. I tried some. There was rice under it, but when taken on the whole I had difficulty discerning the flavor of the rice from the fish---both were flavorless. In fact, I regrettably went back for a freshly-placed second piece, just to make sure it was really as bad as my first (it was). The rice was very firm and stuck together, with no flavor at all. Sushi: 1.5*'s, and only because it didn't kill me right off or I'd have to give them 1* from the grave. It was DEFINITELY not the scrumptious sushi that was pictured in the front window. I played the field here--eating small bites of about 20 different things. On the whole, the food was edible, average, A-OK. And certainly it's the best of the three historical buffets that have graced this premises. Pricing was dirt cheap. $8 for lunch and $11 for weekday dinner for all-you-can-stand. That's "stuff your face full of average food" for $11 ($12 on Friday and Saturday). Not bad at all. Truth be told, I'd have gladly ponied up $13 if the food quality had been just a tick higher. But they're new, and they're still getting their footing here I suspect. 3*s, A-OK. And that's saying something, because the only 1* Yelp review I've ever given was to a previous buffet in this spot. Comparably, this one's 50% the way to perfect. We'll be back. read more

Unfortunately had to knock down a star, as they replaced the soft-serve machine with a janky freezer with rainbow sherbet and chocolate ice cream. They pre-scoop a bunch of bowls which you're supposed to grab out of the freezer. They only had one scoop, though, so all the bowls kind of had both flavors. A lot of them were slightly melted as well, so the whole appearance was unappetizing. Also had an unsettling experience of grabbing a plate off the stack to find wet food stuck to the bottom (plate beneath wasn't clean). First the good.... Very clean restaurant and very good service level experience. As for the food....the desserts are the best part of the buffet. The food was below average (at best) and after taking 1 bite of multiple items I didn't finish those items. The orange chicken was "ok" as was the steamed white rice. The quality of the Asian food next door at Safeway in their deli area is likely less expensive with the same flavor/quality with it. They would be better served to actually make their food fresh vs. purchasing so much frozen premade items. They would likely be able to do these fresh items at a much lower cost with a significant increase in "quality". Likely not somewhere I would return....but it's absolutely not due to the service of the restaurant as I give them 4 stars in that area....which incidentally saved them from a "1 star" rating... read more

My wife and I came here tonight as guests of a friend who wanted to try it out. We were a little leary since we had first visited this location a couple of years ago and came out declaring the experience a disaster. But a new menu and new owner meant they deserved a look and a taste. For what we expected from a buffet this place was excellent! First the place was bright and clean which was a change from the dark, dingy place we saw two years before. The food was hot and fresh. There was someone bringing fresh food every few minutes which means they were pretty busy for a Wednesday night. Highlights were yummy lo mein, astonishing peanut butter chicken, crab rangoon...amazing, coconut shrimp, sushi bar... all quite good. Couldn't sample everything. ..I was stuffed. The stuffed shrimp was bleh, IMO. Service was excellent. The owner happened to be there. I think her name is Carrie. Very friendly and warm as were her staff . I'm writing this mainly for people who have fish allergies. I recently visited this restaurant with someone who has a fish allergy, and we noticed that the fish dishes are intermixed with the non-fish dishes. While we were browsing the food, we saw a customer use the tongs to get some some fried fish and then use the same tongs to get some won-tons that were next to the fried fish (even though the won-tons had their own tongs). After seeing that, we were concerned about cross-contamination of dishes due to people using the same tongs for multiple dishes, so we left without eating there. We were in there for maybe 5 minutes. Before we looked at the food, a waitress asked about beverages, and I asked for a lemonade. I didn't touch it before we decided to leave, but they still asked us to pay for the lemonade. read more

When I read some of the negative comments, I'm wondering if they went to the same place I did. I've gone for dinner at the Buffet Dynasty 5 times and each time the food was fresh, hot and tasty. This is not a gourmet buffet, nor do they claim to be. Just good, oriental food and some good seafood. The service is excellent and the staff is very friendly. It's so nice to finally have a "good" buffet in that space after several very bad ones. I will continue to go there, especially on the weekends when they have crab legs, which I love. I'm not a sushi fan, so I haven't tried that, but it looks very fresh, attractively made. read more

I really wanted this business to be successful, but with the poor quality that the food is on the buffet, I don't know how it can be. The sushi is pretty good and the desserts are very blasé and unappealing. They never did get the soft serve to be a consistency that could be described other than watery. I am disappointed to read reviews about the owner's child displaying unhygienic behavior with the dishes and the food. You people reviewing this place have wacky expectations. This is a an above-average Chinese buffet. You don't come to a place like this for fine dining; you come with a monster appetite for pot stickers, sushi, all kinds of chicken/shrimp, and maybe a few desserts for when you're done. Two best parts of this buffet: The take-out prices are awesome (my kid and I eat for about 7-$10 usually) and the sushi bar is better quality than most Chinese buffets in this price range. Uhg. I should of know better than to ignore my inner voice of reason for Chinese food buffets... really they never are very good and this place was exactly that, not good. Here's the low down: Pro's: 1. The staff; friendly and attentive (taking plates and refilling water without having to flag them down) 2. Chicken that was not fried had a funny taste and even more funny mushy texture 6. And the topper... there was a younger boy (maybe 8-10 yrs old) that must have been the owners son because he kept running out to see what foods were low, and I assume telling the cooks in the back. On one such jont out of the kitchen he had his fingers all over his face (I say in his mouth; husband sweared up his nose) and he proceeded over to the buffet area and cleaned up some food that fell on the counter and to our dismay he (gasp) put it back in with the food to be dished up... yep, you read that right his saliva and/or snot ridden fingers picked up food from the already nasty counter and PUT IT BACK for the poor unsuspecting patron to scoop up onto their plate... once we both witnessed this we were instantly done eating, payed our tab, and got the hell outta; never looking back! I saw this place tucked away in between Safeway and Dollar Tree, so really I should have known better. Instead, we invited some friends and decided to go check it out. All you can eat Sushi? Score! Er...not so much. The sushi itself was undefinable. I mean, the sign said "crab" but... I don't even think there was "krab" in it. The rest of the food was bland, greasy, or just plain gross. I kept trying different items hoping for a different result, but didn't find any. There was a sign on the buffet for crab legs, which had there been any might have saved the place - but there weren't. Went in at noon to try their $7.95 lunch buffet. I thought all of the fried food tasted old and the stir fried food was pretty good, especially the jalapeno chicken and Mongolian beef. The sushi could use some work, even for an Asian buffet. Also, why even have a salad bar if the salad is going to be brown iceberg lettuce. All that said, the service was good. read more
