Going here was a major disappointment for the both of us. I could not imagine how food could get any worse than this. Maybe the prices were a warning sign as the AYCE buffet option was only $23.99 per person. I did not enjoy a single food item despite the large variety of dishes they had. I was excited when I saw the Pho bar but was met with disappointment when I tasted the broth that did not even come close to the real Pho I usually ate at restaurants. Most of the buffet items were cold and items that seemed crispy were stale. Some of the meats I tried were extremely chewy. They had roast beef but it was pretty dry. Overall, my dining experience here was sub-par.

We were here with a sightseeing tour from Montreal. The lunch price was 14$ including a coffee. 16$ with an extra soft drink. The food was ok. I had a freshly made Thai soup which was zesty and refreshing. I didn't eat the seafood. They look like Ok. I expected there were crawfish but no, there wasn't. My friend had some mussels. The salad bar looks fresh. The dessert section offered many choices. I liked the apple stew. All the dish were not so attractive. The taste was overall OK. Paid 21$ at the end, I think I like all-you -can-eat sushi better.

    Chicken ball.

Wow. After not having gone for several years I went with my family to go eat here. Chicken balls were grey inside... Made me sick to my stomach and I'm not a picky eater. Quality isn't the same as it used to be.

Okay, normally for me I'm not a big fan of going to buffets as I feel I don't get good value as my little ones don't eat much but I have to pay generally at least half for them to eat. And when they do eat they eat the dirt cheap items like pizza, fries, chicken fingers, etc... But at Buffet des Continents each kid eats for FREE with each paying adult! WTF??? Did I die and go to parent heaven! For my family of six I only pay for 3!! And to top it off weekend dinner prices are only $21 or so. Much cheaper then the $30 pp in the GTA. The only exception is on Sats where kids are half price...guess you'll never see me there on Sats! And you get some serious food here..things you don't see often, stone crabs, fried frog legs and escargot! They have different stations such as burritos, sushi, roast meats and even a Pho station! The selection was truly impressive. The only weak spot would be the dessert section but other then that truly impressive. Buffets des Continents is a franchise in Quebec that is very popular and expanding a lot. My cousin tried to go to the new one in Brossard and she said the line up went around the block. Kids eat free? Guess where I'm gonna be eating every time I'm in Quebec! Haha!

Went for brunch on a Sunday around 1pm. As usual the line up was long but goes ever so quickly! We were seated in a mere 2 minutes despite how busy it was. They seated is upstairs which I don't mind. The waitress we had was amazing. She was very tentative on taking our plates away and refilling our coffee so that it was always free - oh and coffee is free with your brunch! 16.50$ on Sunday's. The food was amazing, below are a few of ones I particularly loved on this trip: - cream of cauliflower soup - the flavours were so rich! - blueberry pancakes - they were flatter so more crepe like but the added vanilla made it so much better! - waffles - amazing - quiche - frittata - French toast flambé mmmmmm - turkey and broccoli with baked cheese - smoked meat The variety of food they have is always astounding. Check it out ! It was just hard to find a clean washroom stall- thus 4 stars!

Staff were very rude. Food was okay. The coke at the table tasted water down, unlike coke.

Nothing to rave about and nothing to complain about. Tonight was a Sat night and it was busy. Eric, our waiter, did his best. We had a really nice time and whatever white wine they gave me (house?).. it was delicious. I had a very good caesar salad with juicy chicken breast. I omitted the croutons and had the dressing on the side. Everyone else had their tried and true club sandwich and loved it.

They've got everything from pizzas, pastas, rotisserie chicken, ribs, sandwiches, burgers, salads, heavier meals and a whole page just dedicated to Poutine. They definitely get five stars for choice. I was there for lunch and despite the endless choices. I chose a plain old club sandwich. I split it with my mother and I'm glad we did because it arrived on a 14 inch platter and needless to say, it was giganormous! It came with coleslaw, a pickle and fries. The club sandwich was good except the tomatoes weren't fresh. They were mushy. Other than that everything was great and their fries were very good. They'd be even better if they'd have peeled them. Yeah I know it's the trendy thing not to peel them these days but they taste better peeled. So there! My brother ordered the fish and chips that also arrived on a huge platter. He really enjoyed it but I personally prefer the more traditional batter. See pic. My brother has been for their dinner buffet and says it's excellent. Roast beef, roast pork, salmon etc. Last but not least, their prices are very reasonable and we had top-notch service.

We found this AYCE buffet called Mandarin right off the highway. The entrance is grand with koi ponds flanking an entrance bridge. They had all the favorites from a salad bar, fried rice, beef broccoli, seafood and many more. They had a small but adequate sushi bar with basic rolls as well as sashimi. The dessert bar had everything from cakes, tarts and many flavors of scoop it yourself ice cream which seem to be a crowd facorite. The Short Version: Small casual vegetarian restaurant…read moreinside an International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) temple. Very affordable and food tasted good. The Long Version: I feel like many large urban cities have a restaurant called Govinda's that is inside an International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) temple (these were called Hare Krishna temples when I was growing up). This one is in Ottawa. I've been to the one in Toronto. And I know there's one in Montreal, although I've never been there. All these restaurants are of the same concept. They serve vegetarian food, it's usually a buffet, and the prices are very affordable. At this Govinda's the all you can eat buffet is $14 or $12 if you're a student (need to show student card) or a senior (65 or over, I'm assuming if you look young for your age they might ask for ID, lol). The takeout price is $10 and you get a tray with a little bit of everything. I got the take out tray. The takeout tray contained white basmati rice, pasta salad, green salad, daal, a kidney bean curry, some stewed cabbage, and a piece of banana bread. It was quite a lot of food for just $10. And what I really liked about it is that the curries were not oily at all. I find a lot of curries way too oily but these ones were great. The lentil curry (daal) and the bean curry were very flavourful. The stewed cabbage was good too. The green salad had romaine lettuce, cucumbers, and tiny pieces of bell pepper. It came with a creamy salad dressing. A bit too much salad dressing for my liking, but it wasn't too soggy and the dressing wasn't too oily. The pasta salad had some tofu crumble in it. It was okay but had a strange medicinal taste to it. The best part was the banana bread. It was a little crunchy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. Very delicious and not greasy at all. The dining room is small and feels like you're at a friend's house in the basement. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Some people are hesitant to go to these restaurants as they think those belonging to the temple may try to "convert" them. This has never happened to me neither in Ottawa or in Toronto. Be advised that you must remove your shoes and leave them in the boot trays in the foyer before entering the restaurant or the rest of the temple. So don't wear your Louboutins or Jimmy Choos, LOL. And make sure you wear matching socks with no holes in them. Haha. This location is on a residential street and in the University of Ottawa area. All other customers during my visit were students. I feel this place is a hidden gem. It serves healthy, delicious and inexpensive vegetarian food, so I'm a huge fan. Street parking only. Review #52 (2026)
