I would not come here again, everything is salty and not tasty. The pricing is like any other cheap buffet but the food quality is NOT. The fried rice & stir fried noodles were on the saltier side. The egg drop soup was a bit more like thick and heavy with the chicken broth flavor. The wonton was so stale throwing it into the soup didn't even help soften it. The crab Rangoon was basically empty, I did think it was funny how underwhelming it was. Same with their crab legs. Also my friend had the sushi here and one of them was so bad they lost their appetite for the rest of the dinner. The place is also pretty dark and the atmosphere kind of gloomy. So, my husband went to service an alarm system at the restaurant & was greeted by Mr. Mike Liu of the establishment. My husband was shown appreciation with Mr. Liu offering a FREE plate- to go once he was done with the system! I was VERY surprised with the act of kindness on Mr. Liu's part as he did not have to do that. My husband bought the plate home and we actually shared the LoMein, Egg Rolls, and Sesame Chicken he chose. LET ME TELL YOU: The LoMein was delicious! The noodles weren't overly cooked and slimy (as I've had and ran across from other places) and THE SESAME CHICKEN WAS ON POINT! This place was recommended to me by a family member, we took our Daughter for her Birthday. Never again. First, the selection is minimal and they seem to fill up the Buffett space with deserts and fruits and the entrees are minimal. The rice was cold and the sushi was warm. The crab rangoons were still raw and not crispy. On our way out and after paying $70.00 for 4 people there was personal food and coffee creamers and what seemed like raw fish in the drink coolers. OK - I actually really enjoyed my dinner here at Buffet City. I was en route on a 1200 mile road trip and needed to take a break to grub while in San Antonio. The buffet had a nice assortment of items, all were hot which was nice to find. The frog legs were tender, but could have used a some more pepper. The pepper beef very good and also tender. The dumplings were mediocre in flavor and probably wouldn't get those again. The spare ribs were overcooked but sauce was right. I remember the steamed and buttered tilapia being popular, as it was in and out. The house special chicken was overcooked to being inedible. The real star here though is the mongolian BBQ station. They have a lot of things right and only a few nitpicks on my side. Things that matter to me: bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, water chestnut slices, pineapples, mini corn, shrimp, and whole eggs. The noodles could be better but are far from the worst I've tried. They are a bit soft. As far as sauces go - it's been a while since I've seen an actual assortment, which brings me joy to find. You put all the sauces you want in a small styrofoam cup and then bring it with your bowl up to the cook. If you're looking for a good starting point for a sauce base here is what I like: - 1 hefty spoon of minced ginger, no you're not overdoing it - 1 spoon sesame oil - 1 spoon rice wine - 1 spoon lo mein sauce - 2 spoons kung pao sauce - Half spoon of Mongolian sauce - no teriyaki or soy I made two plates of mongolian bbq. read more

A decent example of it's breed. I've been 3 times, and it's always been clean and good selection on the buffet, even for picky kid eaters. They have a mongolian grill table but I haven't tried it. They do cater for more of the bland side it seems, even their spicy labelled items aren't really. But the food tastes pretty good anyway. Decided to give it one more shot a year after our first. This place sucks. Going to a Chinese buffet isn't usually at the top of my list when eating Chinese food so I don't think it's going to be GREAT. But this wasn't even edible. My seasame chicken was like eating jerky, couldn't bite it. The sushi rice was hard, the crab legs were soggy, I couldn't even break them. My husband grabbed a couple oysters but no way was he found to put those in his mouth. The cream cheese wontons were good. I can't think of anything else. I know we went an hour and a half before e closing but that's an hour and a half of peopLe still wanting to eat a half way decent dinner. They closed the grill where you can make your own bowl 50 minutes before closing time. Which sucked because after realizing everything was gross we would have for some. So after that closed everything else started. The food getting put away, yes, put away not thrown out. I feel sorry for anyone doing lunch the next day. And while putting away the guy used his chin and front of his body to get the plastic wrap usinh the same side he tOuched to touch the food. Glass cleaner on the tops while food was still hanging out. Sweeping and vacuuming aNd slamming dishes around. Personally any job I ever had you don't start doing this stuff until after the customers leave and we were not the last ones there. The host was rude and seemed annoyed she had to do her job at all. Don't do it. I would have given this place one star, but our server was excellently so I have to give her mention. The food quality and freshness is very questionable. The fried chicken wings and the shrimp cocktail was the best options here. Crab Rangoons, egg rolls, and spring rolls were no good. I never eat sushi at a Chinese buffet, but most of the hot food was just gross or off somehow, so I decided to give the sushi here a try. Never again. The rice smelled like rotten mildew water and all of the 8 different rolls were exactly the same. Cream cheese, imitation crab, avocado, spicy tuna, and nori. Each roll was just made to look a little different, but they all pretty much contained the same ingredients. The fruit was bland and tasteless. The grapes were big and juicy though. The deserts were okay, but nothing to rave about. 4 people ate for $38.00 and everyone ordered water. I will not come back here. But that's okay, this place was packed and busy with a lot of customers, so they won't notice my absence, but damn... The majority of food here was really bad...
