    Meat and sides

The Buffet Americana inside Gold Strike is affordable, has decent food and caters to most tastebuds. After a long afternoon/evening of gambling this can work up an appetite so we felt that this was a good break for us and convenient as we were already gambling and staying at the hotel. There was a small line to get into the buffet and we presented our 'M Life' cards which one of the blackjack dealers had loaded with credit for the buffet (thanks Terrell!) We were led to a booth and then they took our drink order before we were able to get up and pick the food we wanted. They have different stations such as a meat carving station, a seafood station, a salad bar, hot sides, pizza, a Mongolian stir fry, Chinese food bar and a dessert bar. I tried a little bit from most of the stations. This buffet switches around their food offerings so depending on what day you come you may have different menu offerings and selections. The seafood buffet is on weekends as is the champagne brunch. My favorites: -The desserts were all pretty good. The lemon meringue pie had a great flavor and the caramel sea salt ice cream was unique but delicious. -A few of the sides such as the creamed spinach, mac n cheese, succotash, asparagus and the salad bar were all good. I also really liked the egg drop soup which you could put in wonton pieces and green onion in it. My least favorites: -The shrimp salad. The shrimp in it were small not the jumbo kind. It also had imitation Krab in it instead of real crab. -The meatloaf. You know when they say that there's nothing like mom's cooking? Well, any mom could make better meatloaf than this one. -The hush puppies. No flavor so if you are going to eat something fried then don't bother with the calories for this one. Overall, there were some hits and some misses. Most of the food was just okay and not worth mentioning one way or the other. We left full and satisfied.

Southern hospitality at its best! Service is excellent, all hostesses and food servers are very friendly and attentive to all your needs. I love the southern cuisine specialties; catfish, fried chicken, fried chicken liver and more. The dessert section makes for a great finish, with a large selection of pies and cakes to end on a sweet note!

Currently my favorite buffet in Tunica. A wide variety of very good food. I was pleasantly surprised to taste real mashed potatoes on a buffet. The mac and cheese was so good that I almost dropped by fork in awe. Service has stepped up to an unbelievably high level

Friday night. Seafood buffet. The best buffet in Tunica by far. I like the new Mediterranean items. The complimentary wine and beer is a nice touch.

It was pretty bad. Nothing good on the buffet that would justify the price. Service was pretty non existent. You can skip this one.

Meh. Not much of a selection and only basic buffet food. Go there during the week, not on weekends when it gets too expensive.

Post Covid the buffet is definitely not worth the money. Not enough variety for what you pay.

The first thing that hit me wasn't the decor--it was the smell. The hallway had this strong, unpleasant odor, like something wasn't properly cleaned and they tried to cover it up with cheap fragrance. That's never a good sign. Then you look around... and it only gets worse. The floors were dirty and worn down, like they haven't seen real maintenance in a long time. The walls had this dull, lifeless color that made the whole place feel cold and neglected instead of welcoming. Now let's talk about something serious--safety. My door lock wasn't even right. That's not a minor inconvenience--that's a deal breaker. If I can't feel secure in my own room, nothing else matters. And the food? Honestly, it felt like an afterthought. I spent close to $50 and got: * Chili cheese fries with cheese that wasn't even melted * A buffalo pizza where the chicken was just tossed on top like nobody cared to actually cook it into the pizza No effort. No quality. Just disappointing. To top it all off, I ended up feeling sick afterward--which pretty much confirmed everything about this stay. This wasn't just a bad experience--it felt like a complete lack of care across the board. Do yourself a favor: keep scrolling and book somewhere else.
