I have been to Buffalo Wild Wings many times being that I live across the street. However, I have yet to be impressed. Since the novelty of their Mango Habanero sauce wore off, I now realize that it is a mediocre bar/restaurant with a lot of televisions. As for the good news: The restaurant is fun for crowds, happy hours, trivia and sports games, but that is about it. The food is okay, and the beer selection is top-notch, with many on tap. And the bad news: The restaurant is completely useless for sitting down and having dinner with a group of friends when, instead of watching a television, you want to have a conversation. The food it terribly overpriced for what you get wings go for 80 cents a piece, except for Tuesday and Thursdays when they have their wing specials, that is very expensive. The service is horrible, the wait staff are novice at best and awfully slow. It takes forever for your pre-cooked wings to get tossed in some sauce and sent to the table. I find this unacceptable. Every time I go, by the end of the night I am wanting never to come back. And that is not a good thing! read more

This was my first visit to any Buffalo Wild Wings. $12 for 6 wings, a puny portion of potatoes and a beer at happy hour. This has to be some of the worst value food at a restaurant. The wings and fries would be free at many happy hours. With a tip, it was $15 for barely a meal. I had better food at a Popeyes in Atlanta airport on the flight out. Waitress and staff were very friendly and helpful, but the first batch of wings were actually cold to the touch when delivered to the table. The waitress recommended the buffalo fries, which were good, but the portion didn't even approach the top of the paper tray container. The wings were 69 cents each on their 'Traditional Wings Tuesday' deal. I could never imagie paying $1.40 each for wings. I think they would be a better value at 25 cents each. The hot sauce was truly hot and tasty, though. Beer was tall and cold, very good. There are some good things going on at BWW, but the price is way out considering you are getting snack food at entree prices. read more

Just like any Buffalo Wild Wings they have a huge beer selection and good food and this one happens to have more giant TVs than most, so we were able to watch several games simultaneously - always fun. Prentiss, our bartender that night, was awesome - very friendly and paid attention to when we needed drink refills - a huge plus. read more

Average. Wings Over definitely has better boneless than this location. They gave me bleu cheese even though I specifically asked for ranch. I would not make a special trip to go here again. The Caribbean sauce was not what I expected, and the neither that nor the buffalo sauce covered the wings... It felt like they took a school lunch chicken nugget and dabbed sauce on it. Every single time I come to this BWW they are exceptionally accommodating and really go out if their way to give you a great game day! They have moved games around, tables around and offered complimentary beverages on one occasion when my game was changed unexpectedly causing me to move tables. This place is good to go to have a few beers. Otherwise, don't bother. The food is average to poor and the service is terrible. If you really want good wings in Windsor, keep going on Poquonock a couple miles and go to Jim's. It's a family run place and their wings are great. 10 times better than this place. It's nice that there are lots of TVs with a variety of sports, and there's a good selection of beer, too. The food is acceptable, but don't go with high expectations. Slammers are a good amount of bread & cheese, kinda light on the meat. Also, try to eat them still hot, since they're sort of squishy cold. Service is s-l-o-w at 11pm & a mostly empty dining room. I came here with a minor cold and asked the waiter (Timothy J) for a tea (which wasn't on the menu) and he gladly brought it out since they had the ingredients. The quality of this place has been going down hill even though it's pretty much always had low ratings. I'm upset because I ordered a medium traditional (asian zing & parmesan garlic) on tuesday for takeout. It was half off so I only spent $9 however it wasn't even worth it. I got home and started eating my chicken and I took a bite into my chicken and I felt like I was chewing for hours.. The chicken was extremely chewy and undercooked. When this place first came to Windsor I was one of those over zealous, mindless freaks that went there every day or two to chow down on wings. From the very beginning I knew that their 10+ sauces were tasty and you can (more than likely) find the flavor that best suites your needs. I also knew that their service is just awful. They always have runners that never know what table to bring food to, they turn the corner and just ask each and ever table if you ordered what they have in their hand. I also knew that the size and quality of their chicken wing was subpar. While I'm not advocating the use of hormonally enhanced chickens, these are on the opposite side of the spectrum. The wing bones often break prior to me consuming them and their sizes leave much to be desired. I took a year off of BWW in hopes that they would hit their groove, because it's never fair to judge a restaurant in their couple of months. But after 5 years and me stopping in 3 times just in the last 2 years, not too many improvements. For some reason this place is always packed. And it must be the cheap drinks and many TV monitors, because other than that, this place has noting going for it. read more

Wow this place really sucks. I came here with my boss for lunch (he is a big wing enthusiast) and we were both anxious to try out the different sauces that they hype up for wings. After being seated, the first thing i notice is that there must be about 500 television sets in this restaurant. They were all playing some variety of sports game or ESPN. It was fine at first, but after a little bit, it starts getting annoying. Anyway, our waitress comes and we place our order. I order a chicken strip basket that comes with a side of wings, and my boss orders a full order of wings. I go with the mild bbq sauce as I am not a fan of spicy food, and my boss went with the teriyaki sauce and the spicy sauce. It took about 25 minutes for our food to arrive. The restaurant didn't seem to be espescially busy, but in either case we were hungry so we ate. The chicken strips were the same quality that you could find at a Friendly's restaurant. The wings were very small, dry, and hardly coated at all. My boss was espescially angry since he ended up leaving most of the wings. The sauces were not to his liking and I know you can make better quality wings at home. For the amount this place charges, (like $12.00 each) it should be much better quality. read more

You might find it odd to know that someone that hates wings is giving BWW a 5* rating. Fortunately, I can tell you it doesn't matter how their wings are because this place is awesome. There are about 60 TVs, literally, and the only disappointing factor about the entire establishment is that their projectors aren't HD to go along with the televisions, which is a small bit of a let down. However, I've come here a number of times with friends for a sit-down lunch... always great, timely service. Just yesterday I came for the Sports Bar side of things -- the World Cup is on and you're damn right I was watching England/USA in HD. The bar was packed for the match, and the commentary was blaring with every projector in the building being tuned to the full 90 minutes. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. Only thing lacking in the ambiance was fan chanting, which I tried to start but no one wanted to join in. Typical boring American soccer fans. Trivia fans, don't forget Buzztime! BWW has 6 or 7 TVs tuned into trivia, and another 4-5 in the bar area tuned to the Buzztime Cards network (Texas Hold'em and Blackjack). I'm a trivia fiend, and I set some new records that people will have a hard time passing! On to the food. For not being a wings guy their wings are still pretty good. But more than anything I LOVE LOVE LOVE their 3/4 lb. shrimp appetizer basket. What a steal at $8.49, and what a taste! Absolutely incredible. I could eat 4 lbs of these a day if I had the money. Most important in a sports bar is full coverage of everything I want to watch, and BWW delivered. They normally open at 10:30 or 11, but are opening at 10 especially for the world cup. It probably will cost them some money because I think there were maybe 1 or 2 people there total (myself included during this time) and 2-3 waitresses/hostesses, but those are the kinds of things that sports bars are supposed to do for passionate fans. I asked her if anyone was watching a college game on tv and she told me all the TVs were preset by the manager and didn't bother to help out. 20 minutes later a couple of guys she knew showed up and asked her to switch the same tv I asked about to the same damn game she immediately went and got the manager to change it for them. A lot of people hate on BWW because its no Wings Over Amherst.... to those people that don't like BWW they don't get the point. Although some of the food might be sub-par, a lot more of the food (Wedges with Queso) is fantastic. The beer selection is great, 24 on tap. But the main thing about the place is the atmosphere... trivia, sports on tons of Tvs, lots of Beer events and giveaways and a great staff. As someone who's been to the Hanger, if you don't get there by a certain time early in the day, its nearly impossible to get a table, the place is too small and not enough variety on whats on the few televisions there. What the Hanger lacks, BWW makes up for an vice versa. read more

We were seated right away and received an overly charismatic waitress who got right to taking our drink orders. Drinks were received quick, except for those with alcohol, which required a longer wait. Our food was all ordered at once came all out at once. It was a moderate wait time for four adults and two children, around twenty minutes. Drinks came out fast, everything was going good, until it became time to pay. Came here for dinner with a group of 5 on a Tuesday night (60 cent wing night) The place wasn't too crowded so we had our pick of seats. Ordered a few beers since it was still happy hour ($1 off on beers. Not much but hey every little bit counts). It took a while for the waitress to come take our order, but when she did come around she was very courteous. Ordered our wings then sat back and watched one of the many tvs surrounding the dining area. After 30 minutes of waiting for my wings my stomach was growling. Once our wings were finally delivered they were pretty good. We had the Honey BBQ, Thai Curry, Mango Habanero, Jammin Jalapeño, and Bufflao. Honey BBQ was my personal fav with Thai Curry a close second. The Habanero and Jalapeño were too spicy for my taste. We also had some fried pickles which were a bit chewey (thumbs down). The manager came over to ask how things were going and we mentioned how long it took to get our wings. He looked at our ticket and noticed that our order was put in 20 mins after we made it, so he took 3 orders off our bill. All in all an Ok experience. read more

I've been to other BWW before, and the service here was the worst I've ever experienced. Took the waitress 35 minutes to get us our drink order. Then another 20 to take our food order. WETHERSFIELD LOCATION ONLY; went in expecting stellar juicy wings and your basic sportsbar. right away i could see that it was better than any other local sports bar and i will be back for the bruins playoffs. my friend said she was thinking about a burger but i said - when the word WINGS in is the title - you EAT WINGS! look! it says they are fresh not frozen! eat the wings! my fkg mistake. the server was pleasant. there was a little wait on a saturday afternoon with every seat open but nothing to storm out about. we ordered the garlic mushrooms. they were a frozen product that fell out of it's crispy coating shell when you attempted to pick them up by fork. they did have a spice awesome sauce but the shrooms themselves were something out of mcdonalds. after two of these bland garlic disappointments i pushed them over to my friend. now i was really hungry for the wings. if you want stellar shrooms try angelos on main street in glastonbury . ............then the wings. what a horrible disappoiontment. they were tough, no moistness, dried out, not juicy and just plain awful. i had to fight and tear off the meat like an animal. i have to give the prize to hooters on the berlin tpke. but even scarier than that - the cafeteria at pratt & whitney has supreme plump juicy wings - and they are a frozen product. how hard is it to make a good wing? every asian restaurant i've ever been to has better wings. i should have gone with a burger but from the reviews i've read here they are not a redeeming alternative. the one star is for the sports bar. i would not eat here again. read more

I was here on for dinner on a short business trip. I got there a little later in the evening and the place was dead. I sat in the bar and got service right away. First time eating at a Buffalo Wild Wings and my last! This location was especially horrible. Really bad very slow service and low quality less than sub par food. They had the 60 cent per wing happy hour special.....you get what you pay for I'd say. I ordered the boneless wings. Each one could not have been larger than maybe a quarter. Excessively small, overcooked to the point they were hard and like rubber. Over sauced and too much vinegar in their bbq hot. Their service was crap and very slow, waitress only checked on us once and it was at the end of the meal when I told her of the poor quality. Only good thing is manager comped the bill as he should have......but hours later I feel ill from their stuff. Worst part is when an employee ran a small vacuum cleaner around the tables while we were eating......hint to management....people don't like stuff from the floor blown into the air to fall on their food. Been here twice now for happy hours with the co-workers. Some thoughts...Obviously, you hopefully know going in that the concept is sports bar centered around chicken wings. Beer and wings. Wings and beer. They do serve other things sure, but then why else are you coming to a place called Buffalo Wild Wings? That being said, I was actually reluctant to schedule a second happy hour here after the first one. Not that we had a bad first time, mind you. But the place is loud...Like dance party, nightclub loud. Like 'barely hear your neighbor' loud and 'good luck hearing anything outside your immediate area if you are with a larger group' loud. They have at least 3 dozen televisions going and music going and acoustics that you would think are designed to accentuate everyone's chatter and TV noise and jukebox to maximize the noise level. So, not a very good place to meet up and discuss the day's events...If that is your thing then by all means...and it must be many people's thing as they packed the place on both random weeknights I went. Beer selection is very good to great here. Very good when you factor in the 2 dozen taps with a decent mix of craft brews (Had a Harpoon Leviathan IPA, which is a rare bar find) and moves to great when you look at their bottle selection. Only issue is that they don't have a tap / bottle list to look at. So you're stuck doing the awkward bar stalking trying to figure out all the different taps and bottle selections... Staff very friendly and attentive...Kept watch on our drinks and always ready to pour some more. Food came out very quick in all cases...Makes sense given the menu items, but you will have wings / chips / pretzels on your table within 5 minutes of ordering. Wings came out blazing fast...they're obviously frying up large batches in the back in anticipation of orders and saucing them to order. Which is fine...this isn't fine cuisine we're talking. A little annoyed at the prices they charge and then they charge you a la carte for celery and dressing? I get it if the wing pricing was say $6 - $8 for a dozen, but I'm being charged close to $12 for a dozen wings and you want to charge me more for celery and blue cheese? Really? As for the wings themselves, I would say they're merely average...Average meat and skin not as crisp as I like a wing to be. Normally, I wouldn't be so picky on quality of an appetizer, but this *is* the reason you're coming here, right? It's not a bad wing really, but don't come here expecting some heavenly wing experience or you will leave disappointed. One last tip: Not a guy that has a spicy heat fetish, but I usually can handle a fair amount of heat and usually feel very comfortable ordering an establishment's 'hot' buffalo wing. BWW tends to take a more aggressive approach to that word and would caution you against just blindly assuming the 'hot' wing will be OK (esp if you are ordering for group). I was having a hard time by the 3rd wing and I ordered a dozen! Co-workers were able lend an assist, but would recommend you stick to the 'medium' unless you are shooting for an 'exhilarating' (their word) experience. read more
