The feathers are still on the wing. Celery and carrots are old and dry. Fries are dry but it was my fault for bring it home to eat it.

I enjoyed the sports bar vibe with nicer food. My favorite dish was the Wagyu burger, but the wings were a close second. They were fried perfectly and the honey habanero was drizzled over them, creating a lovely depth of flavor - especially with their homemade ranch. The Caesar salad was good, but tasted a little like it had the cheap Parmesan on it from the can. The short ribs were also tasty, but a bit on the chewier side than I would have liked. They do have a few mocktail options for $8 each (very affordable). I really enjoyed my cucumber mocktail! Would highly recommend for anyone visiting Pilsen!

Since I was looking for something more casual, this place came up as a suggestion online. It's a small bar and I didn't notice a sign out front that had the restaurant name, that's something maybe they should consider. But overall, it appeared to be newly renovated, and had all of the Chicago sports teams decor throughout which I liked. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was a Black owned bar, which was another plus for me. On Mondays, they have $10 wings, and it's a pretty good deal because they give you really nice sized wings. My only critique is that the wings themselves weren't seasoned so the sauce had to do a lot of of the heavy lifting for flavor. But the chicken was cooked perfectly! Lastly the other small issue I had was that it was freezing cold in the bar. I'm not sure if it's due to insulation or because of the type of windows they had installed, but it was absolutely freezing and that almost took away from the experience, nonetheless, this is certainly a place that I would try again during the warmer months.

While visiting my little brother in Chicago, I had to find somewhere good to eat because the foodie in me does not take days off. I stopped by Wilma's and ordered the Happy Hour Turkey Tips & Fries along with a Lemon Drop. The turkey tips were AMAZING. They were flavorful, tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly. I'm still dreaming about those turkey tips! The fries were also perfectly seasoned and paired so well with the meal. No notes. I also tried the wings, which were delicious. I still occasionally eat a small amount of chicken, and these definitely did not disappoint. I really loved the vibe of the restaurant too. The artwork throughout the space gives it so much personality and makes the experience feel fun and unique. The staff was also great, friendly, and welcoming. Between the flavorful food, great service, fun atmosphere, and those turkey tips, Wilma's definitely left an impression. If you're in Chicago and looking for some good BBQ, I'd definitely recommend stopping by. Just make sure you come hungry!

My party of four visited for Sunday brunch, and the restaurant was basically empty when we arrived. The escalator also wasn't working, which wasn't the best first impression. We ordered fried wings, rib tips, and drinks, but our food didn't come out together. For a table of four, it's disappointing when everyone isn't served at the same time. The biggest disappointment was the lemon drop martinis. After one sip, they were far too tart and overly citrusy for our taste. The glasses were still nearly full, so we politely asked if they could be remade or exchanged for a different cocktail. We were told that all alcohol sales are final. While I understand restaurants have policies, I was surprised there wasn't any willingness to accommodate us, especially since we had barely touched the drinks and simply wanted a different cocktail. As for the food, the fried wings lacked seasoning, and the rib tips were rubbery and didn't have much flavor. Being from Texas, I enjoy BBQ where the meat stands on its own, so I asked for the BBQ sauce on the side. Unfortunately, even with the sauce, the rib tips didn't have the quality or flavor I was expecting. The staff was polite, but the food quality, drink experience, and overall execution didn't live up to the reputation I was hoping for. I hope management takes this feedback as an opportunity to improve because the restaurant has potential.

I've known about them since they opened up in the condo building after it was built. So, we decided to try them, because I wanted wings that were not fried. She found out they have "smoked" wings. She placed an order of those, sweet-smoky onion rings and cauliflower wings w/ sweet Thai chili sauce. The wings were "okay". The so-called hickory flavor was there but needed ALOT more, so that hurt. They were also dried out, which hurt even more!... I told my wife, we should have done the hickory sauce to kinda bring it all together which also would have helped with the moisture. So, we decided we would try them again someday. They were a nice size as well; which is a positive. The onion rings were WAY TOO SALTY!!!.... Whoever seasoned them must have been look at the game! They were inedible!!!... The salt in the seasoning was WAYYY too aggressive. But, here too, we said, we would get them plain and have the seasoning on the side next time. We didn't even finish half of the order. The winner was the cauliflower!!!... They were cooked right (just a little bit over), but the flavor by themselves was pretty good! The Thai sauce was good as well. They didn't require alot due to the viscosity of the sauce. We actually tried a wing with the sauce; it was pretty good. This is reason we changed our minds about trying them a second time. I will without a final grade until after the next visit. -Gone.........

There are certain places that stay with you long after you've left. Output Lounge is one of those…read moreplaces. Before I tell you about this visit, I have to tell you about the first time I came here. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love wings. I've tried them all over the country, from California to New York, so whenever I hear about a place that's supposed to be special, I have to see for myself. About two years ago, a few friends and I were staying downtown for the weekend before an event. We were driving around trying to decide where to eat, and like most friend groups, nobody could agree. I looked over at my buddy, who had been telling me about Output Lounge ever since he first tried it, and said, "Why don't we just get wings?" As luck would have it, we were only five minutes away. That decision turned into one of the best wing experiences I've ever had. Ever since then, my friend and I had been trying to make it back. We even made the trip once but got there after the kitchen had already closed. That only made finally returning feel even more rewarding. This time, we planned it right. We drove into the city on a Sunday and were lucky enough to be seated right away. Looking around, almost every table had baskets of wings. I remembered waiting the first time I came, but honestly that only spoke to how popular this place is. The wings took about 15 to 20 minutes to come out, but I honestly didn't mind. It never felt like waiting because my buddy and I spent the time catching up and talking about our upcoming trip to Japan and Korea. Since neither of us gets here very often, we both ordered twenty wings. When they arrived, you could immediately tell they had just come out of the fryer. Steam was still rising, every wing was evenly coated in sauce, and they looked exactly how wings should. I ordered mild, lemon pepper, Jim Beam Honey BBQ, and spicy BBQ. Mild has always been my go-to because I think it tells you everything you need to know about a wing. Output absolutely nailed it. Every bite starts with a satisfying crunch before giving way to tender, juicy chicken. The meat is cooked perfectly without becoming dry or overdone. Then the sauce takes over. Rich, buttery, tangy, and balanced with just enough heat. Every nook and cranny was coated, yet the wings stayed crispy from the first bite to the last. As I sat there eating them, I couldn't help but think back to my first visit. The exact same thing happened then. The first few bites made everything else disappear. Conversation stopped. For a moment, it was just me and the wings. That's when I realized I hadn't built this place up in my head over the last two years. Sometimes you remember a restaurant being better than it actually was because you've hyped it up in your own mind. Not here. If anything, these wings were even better than I remembered. The Jim Beam Honey BBQ and spicy BBQ were outstanding in different ways. The Jim Beam starts with a subtle sweetness before finishing with a smoky bourbon flavor, while the spicy BBQ slowly builds heat without overpowering the barbecue underneath. Both sauces complemented the chicken instead of masking it. Then there was the lemon pepper. I don't order lemon pepper very often because most places either don't offer it or overdo the seasoning. Output might have the best lemon pepper wing I've ever had. You get the crispy, juicy chicken first, then the citrus and cracked pepper slowly build without overpowering the wing. As I got down to my last few wings, I found myself slowing down because I didn't want the meal to end. That's usually how I know I've found something special. After trying wings all over the country, Output Lounge still sits near the very top of my list. Are they the best wings in Illinois? They have a legitimate argument. Are they among the best in the country? I think they've earned a seat at that table. The best part is that after two years, they weren't just as good as I remembered. They were even better. They always had to wave her down. Anyway I had a couple draft beers and got the chicken tenders (6pc) and the sweet potato fries (asked for them to be well done). The fries were tasty and had flakey salt, but weren't well done at all. The honey mustard they came with was tasty. The tenders were barely edible. Chicken was very rubbery and stringy. Should've gotten boneless wings. The sauces, however, were saving graces. I asked for the hot habanero lemon pepper and the hot Chipotle ranch. Both sauces were very tasty. The hot Chipotle ranch wasn't hot at all, but had a really nice flavor. The hot habanero lemon pepper was amazing! Had a kick and the flavor was fantastic. Probably one of my favorite wing sauces to date. This was the highlight of my meal! I'll be back for this sauce and this sauce alone. Ambiance wise, it's a standard sports bar, but a big negative was all the gnats everywhere around the bar.

Their new spot inside Picnic, the digital food court in South Loop, is a total game-changer. From the moment I placed my order to the very last bite, it was nothing short of . What's even better? This is Jerk Yard's second location, following the success of their beloved original in Hyde Park--and yes, it brings the same delicious taste and chill island vibes that made the first one such a favorite. Consistency is everything, and they've nailed it again. Let's talk food: the jerk chicken is juicy, smoky, and seasoned to perfection with just the right amount of heat. You know how some places say "jerk" but really mean "barely spiced"? Not here. This is the real deal. I paired it with their coconut rice and sweet plantains--absolutely chef's kiss. The plantains were golden, soft, and caramelized just right. Portions are generous, the packaging is on point (perfect for takeout), and the flavors? Unmatched. The team clearly puts love into every plate. And while the new location is in a digital food hall, it still feels like Jerk Yard--welcoming, flavorful, and full of good energy. Whether you've been rocking with them since Hyde Park or you're new to the brand, this South Loop spot is a must-visit. Pro tip: if the oxtail is on the menu, do yourself a favor and get it. Thank me later.
