My hope for this email is that it reaches someone who is in upper management. I have been a client of the Tucson location since it was located back on Helen St. back in 1998 ish... a return client, despite the gradual demise to where it is located now on Speedway. I was in today with 4 nicely packed bags of mostly brand new clothes, and ended up being there for 2 hours, which was extremely inconvenient. The apparent "manager" - all she did was flit around the floor, flipping her hair all over the place, stopping here and there to answer super easy questions from the enormous number of employees doing....? What exactly, I don't know. I watched many at the buyer desk who appeared to be completely lacking in fashion knowledge dump out bags, only to fold almost everything nicely back into the bags I brought. Taking next to nothing, and not only from me, but from the numerous people who went before me. Now I'm no expert but I'm 56 and experienced in fashion and also have common sense and a sense of what the general public might be looking for-not just the BE employee's friends. In my opinion, 1/3 of what's on the floor will sell. What happens to the rest I wonder. My intention is not to be cruel here, and the person who checked me out, because yes, on the positive side I found some cute stuff, was very very sweet listening to my complaints there today. My intention is that someone in charge will at least assess this location and provide education where it's needed. I went into Buffalo Exchange once and that was more than enough. The entire experience felt disorganized, slow, and honestly disrespectful of my time. I ended up waiting over an HOUR just to be seen, and there were only about 5-8 people ahead of me. The worst part? No one tells you that you're supposed to scan a QR code to check in. So you're just standing there thinking you're in line, while the system is apparently something completely different. Zero communication, zero guidance. When I finally got helped, the interaction felt cold and dismissive. No effort to explain anything, no real customer service, just a rushed, uninterested attitude like I was inconveniencing them. And then the offer... they took ONE item. A pair of shorts that originally cost me $80 and offered me $6. That's not even remotely reasonable. After waiting that long, it just felt insulting. So to sum it up: over an hour wait, no direction on how their system even works, unfriendly staff, and a $6 payout on $80 shorts. Complete waste of time. I won't be back. read more

do not take your clothes to trade in! you're literally better off trying to sell them at a yard sale or online. these people will take great items and mark them all the way up to resell. and then you're left with 10$ max lol. not sure if it's just this one location or the entire company but i leave disappointed everytime. read more

I took the exact same bags to Phoenix location this time only taking two of the bags because I was nervous they would not be interested in what I was bringing. I made $250 in trade from two bags out of the four that the Tucson location did not want, and they told me to keep bringing more stuff because they loved what I had. I highly advise that you drive to Phoenix to go to their other location. Starting to see many more fast fashion brands priced higher. The pros are the customer service, women's shoe selection, many blouse racks, and pretty clean. The main con is that the pricing is everywhere. As someone who has sold clothes on apps, not here, and familiar with retail pricing here, it is quite high here. Worst buffalo exchange in the country, which is wild considering it is the first location. I would not recommend for buying or selling. The selection is always awful and full of fast fashion. The lady who answered the phone and works at the front desk is great! but the people who are doing exchanges are so rude, specifically the manager on floor. it shouldn't take as long as it did to go through a bag of clothing. as a first time experience of trading my clothes in it's something i refuse to do here at buffalo exchange. read more

At first I walked in thinking Wow this place helps the community because they take in canned foods..... I brought my clothes to sell thinking I would get a good price as well. The cashier seemed profesional and well dressed, as he was picking out only clothes that he liked I hear "18" "16" "15". Again- I am thinking "wow and they're going to pay me that much" Mind you all the clothes picked were high branded. I was only given 11 dollars and the store makes more than triple. Extremely Disappointed - Unprofessional Experience at Buffalo Exchange I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Buffalo Exchange. After spending my entire morning carefully washing, sorting, and preparing clothes to bring in, I waited in line for 26 minutes--only to be completely ignored when it was finally my turn. The staff was too busy chatting with each other about something that had happened earlier in the week to even acknowledge me. They glanced at just two or three items before loudly announcing, in front of everyone, that because they found a tiny speck of a bug on one item (we live in the desert--bugs happen), they would be ending the buy immediately. I was embarrassed and taken aback. I politely explained that all the clothes had been freshly laundered that morning, yet the employee still said, "If you'd like to go home and launder your items, you're welcome to bring them back." That comment was completely insulting--especially after the time and effort I had just put in. For context, I had just purchased plants from the nursery earlier that morning, and the bug likely came from the trunk of my car--not from my clean clothes. The assumption and public shaming were unnecessary and unprofessional. This isn't my first time having a disappointing experience at Buffalo Exchange, but it will absolutely be the last. The ongoing lack of professionalism, courtesy, and basic respect for customers is unacceptable. Honestly, it's no wonder their business is struggling--people would much rather sell on Poshmark or go somewhere they're actually treated with respect. Terrible service, i went in to sell very nice jeans and many clean and unworn hoodies, they looked at 4 items out of 10, the whole group of girls that run the counter were just picking at my clothes looking at it and quietly smirking amongst themselves i felt very insulted. I'm an avid thrifter and decided to take a look at Buffalo recently. I hadn't been there in a while and I know their prices can be a little higher, but generally the pieces are unique. They had a good selection and everything was well organized, but I have the same complaint about them that I have about Bookman's - too many new items mixed in with the used. If I wanted new items for new item prices, I would shop elsewhere. I wish the selection was exclusively second hand (even if it's new with tags) and not just new store items in multiple sizes. read more

Seller beware, if taking items to Buffalo Exchange, be wary, the prices are so low that it's not really worth it!!! I was recently there and had great quality items, some things only worn once or twice and others new!!! But they priced them so low or wouldn't take them, with lame excuses we already have those or those don't sell here!!! How would they know if they didn't take them!!! The staff/manager do not know fashion trends, they seem to be walking around in a daze!!! I don't believe they know fashion trends at all or brands!!! They seem to be just interested in t-shirts!!! They need to expand to get a broader customer base!!! I recently took high quality items and the manager started the deal while the girl took a short break!!! I was stunned by the very low buy out!!! I never wanna come back me and my friends have been going here for years and my last visit was my final time. Last Monday afternoon I went in for my second time trading in. We walked in and were not welcomed or greeted in the whole time we were there. Not only did the person checking my clothes say there was stains on EVERYTHING but the workers standing behind the counters not only ignored me and my friend but all of them keep giving us stank looks. (I also checked all my clothes when I got home there was no stains and the one that the employed "showed" me was the fabric being moved up they could have moved it down with their hand) If you can't Identify a stain and the fabric of clothes maybe you need to find another job. I would also like to mention when I told the employee where I got one of my jackets because they asked me I told them I thrift all of my clothes after I told them that they had a disgusted kind of look and rolled their eyes..... stop acting like this is not a second hand store let's be real people. They only took the 2 shein stuff that I had brought with me and that should tell you enough as is..... Another thing that happened that same day was when I had asked if they take lingerie they said yes but only tops right now so when the same employee pulled out the TOP for the other coworker to see she gave the nastiest face right in front of me and my friend, embarrassing me in front of the whole store just to say its not "right" and it's not a top... The atmosphere and attitude here is disgusting but as a person who was worked in costumer service I would have gotten fired on spot for treating costumer like that. Not only did I feel disrespected but disappointed as an alternative presenting person I felt so uncomfortable... DO NOT GO HERE they overprice their stuff and they make fun of you if you while you are in their store... and apparently if you are openly alternative and bring in name brand items like apple bottom jeans, old aeropostale, abercrombie and fitch, BGBC and other (that I did bring in that day which they took none of) that are from the early 2000s they don't like you in there... I had a few brand new u of a wildcat shirts that were too small along with brand new Harley shirts and other stuff that was in very good condition. The snotty girl at the counter said the wildcat shirts were too used. I laughed and said the tags are literally still on them. I couldn't wear them. They are too small. She then said oh, well they are vnecks and we only take scoop necks due to demand. They wanted a clingy one I had, tags on them. Vneck. For 5 bucks lol. I said no, give me them back. I'll gift them. I told her we are literally in the uofa area. She said nobody cares about that. The school has nothing to do with sales. Lol!!! I said these are wildcat shirts! New. She rolled her eyes AGAIN. blinked really excessive and hard and said we do not care about the wildcats or teams. Clearly she doesn't like the cats. Horrible service. I've been selling and buying at Buffalo Exchange for well over a decade, and it's really a bummer to see what's happened with this store. It used to be a great place to buy second hand and vintage, but it's almost entirely fast fashion now. Going through the racks you'll mostly see Target and Forever 21 clothes but used and double the price (which we all know, those types of brands don't appreciate in value - why would anyone buy a used Wild Fable shirt for $18?!). The only vintage section is a tiny rack hidden in the back. Not to mention they now carry a lot of new clothes and accessories that are mass produced, which takes away the whole point of this being a thrifty and eco-friendly shopping experience. They also now make you stand there as they go through your trade and you can tell they tell their employees make small talk, and I get that they're trying to be friendly, but it feels like they're going through prompts and it is sooooo cringey. Like unbelievably bad - going through "ice breaker" questions lol. I also think the buying process in general is much to be desired. They want what's "in style" but no one shops at a thrift store because they're following mainstream fashion trends. Either way, you can just tell there's not a lot of knowledge about brands, fashion, and value in general. I get it's all subjective but really it mostly comes down to the fact that it's all overpriced fast fashion in there now. read more

Went in to get money for my clothes. After my yard sale and three Plato's closets I took my clothes here and I still managed to get some bought by them. Wait wasn't too long. The entire process was pretty fast, yet slightly awkward. Seemed like the buyers all had to answer to one person for a final say of the items. Felt like everything was down to the opinion of one person. Friendly employees. After my experience of various Plato's closets and now buffalo exchange it really is hit or miss and depends on the employee if you're gonna get something bought. I ended up donating a lot of good condition brand named clothing to gospel rescue mission simply because it wasn't in style or demand, etc. Some homeless people are about to have some nice clothes. Felt good donating them. Wasn't a horrible experience. Pretty close compensation to cheapskate people showing up to your yard sale, but if I had to do it again, I just might. read more

Went into this buffalo exchange with 2 bags of nice clothes hoping to be met with some sort of hospitality or nice greeting, instead I was left standing in the empty waiting room watching 2 staff members chit chat (unoccupied) while acting like I was wearing an invisible cloak for 4 minutes. Once they finally began going through my things,and might I add judging and dreadfully going through these things, they called me back up like I was a toddler and so beneath them. Felt very belittled and disregarded with the service, almost felt like I was such an inconvenience to them. May have just been these 2 girls personalities, however when you're working a job, the least you can do is put on a smile, found myself being overly nice to make up for the unwelcome feeling I got from them. If you enjoy Target, Torrid and Zara at twice the price they originally cost, you should definitely come here. I was sad to see that the reviews others left are true and the Buffalo Exchange that exists now is just a sad shadow of its former self. That being said, there are gems to be found if you are willing to search. The silver lining of the experience was the employees. Everybody who was working was super kind and helpful. Came in today looking for anything that wasn't what you'd find in " vanilla" brick & motor store. Maybe a little punk, vintage, alternative, metal. Something!!! Anything!!I've been to the buffalo store in the height. Way different!! They are eclectic , way cool! Arizona has zero style unless your looking for tee shirts & cowboy boots. Went in to sell a pair of high-end pants. I had called and spoke to a manager the week prior to make sure they buy the type of pant it was before making a drive across town. She kindly said yes absolutely... When I arrived she immediately said she wouldn't buy them because they're low rise and no one buys low rise. Wow. Really ? That would've been a helpful detail that she could've easily told me over the phone. She was rude. She said she knew about this type of rare denim but it was clear she knew nothing about them! Terrible customer service. They'll buy mass produced fast fashion clothing items from people but when it comes to a beautiful pair of Japanese denim she wouldn't even make an offer. They used to have really cool stuff for cheap. Now every time I go in everything is insanely priced & completely unacceptable considering the condition of the item/type of item. The staff used to be great but now they definitely judge you. I remember one visit I was walking around, browsing, and the cashier was watching me very closely, obviously judging me hard. I have no idea why & it made me really uncomfortable. There was also no one else in the store. Just me. Wouldn't speak to me at checkout either.
