10/10 if I could! Had a photo shoot done in September for a late birthday gift. I'm very self critical and was concerned about how my photos would turn out.. they're amazing! I did the calendar girl package and my calendar is awesome. Also ordered a poster which I will have framed! Ramsey is very detail oriented and really gets into your head with you about how you want your photos to be portrayed. Holy Pin-Up Girls Batman! I booked a shoot as a 5th Wedding Anniversary gift to my husband and he asked "Well what am I getting you?" I looked at him and said "You're getting me a vintage pinup shoot!" After the shoot I can think of no truer words. Honestly I think I'm getting the better end of that deal! Ramsey, the photographer, and Kelly, make up artist, are incredibly charming and personable. I seriously walked in for my photo shoot and felt like I had known these lovely ladies my whooole life. They were easy going, sweet, and very helpful to someone who was unsure of the process. I told Ramsey I love Bettie Page but had no clue what to wear but that I liked reds/blacks and she pulled a ton of options, had me try them on and helped me pick out what was the most flattering. We ended up doing two outfits rather than just one because she liked them both so much. I also got to pick out props for the shoot. I chose a leopard print chair because rawr right? I also felt fabulous in my makeup and asked Kelly what she was doing while she was doing it and she talked me through everything. She was so good, in fact, I signed up for one of the makeup/hairstyle classes the next day! They offered me makeup wipes afterward and I think I replied "Who'd ever want to take this off?!" The other day I was going through some old pictures I had in frames from several moves ago and there they were, all the photos from THE MOST AMAZING PHOTO SHOOT OF MY LIFE!!!! I had gone in to see Ramsey and her amazing team of women over 15yrs ago to do a photo shoot for my husband while he had been deployed with the Air Force to the war. I had imagined a shoot in an up-do with the gorgeous, starlet make-up and nothing but an antique American flag dropped around me and some heels. What better for MY American hero?! Well, needless to say I felt bold think8ng about doing it but when I was driving over I got really nervous....beyond nervous!!!! But Ramsey and the crew were so sweet and kind. They can put the most nerve wracked person at ease. They are the best friends you never knew you had! The shoots are so much fun!!! Ramsey's hair stylist was incredible. She gave me the exact 20's hairdo I had in my minds eye. I looked amazing. The make-up, the make-up, I didn't want it to EVER come off!!!! The poses Ramsey put me in were sooooo flattering for my body, so elegant, so flattering....we also laughed so much when I was being so awkward with hitting poses, I wasn't even embarrassed because it was like hanging out with a friend. Oh, by the way, you can bring a friend, too. The finished product was BEYOND my EXPECTATIONS!!!! I was so proud and excited to give those photos to my husband when he finally came home from his deployment. I don't think he could have been more pleased with his gift. My husband and I have now been married for 35yrs and I am 54yrs old and let me tell you, seeing those photos at this point in my life brought tears to my eyes remembering that time in my life. read more

I can't say enough about what a positive experience flash in the past is. Ramsey is uber professional and relaxed and has created a fun and safe environment. She was very prompt in scheduling and staying in contact. She was also very flexible and full of ideas and tips during the session. The hair artist that she hired managed to turn my stick straight hair into glorious victory rolls (that actually last multiple days afterwards!). Why doesn't this place have more reviews? I found out about this place through the grace of that Groupon special they were running and I am SO glad I did! I cannot tell you how charming this studio is! It specializes in vintage themes ranging from pinup, to rockabiliy, to retro--you name it. The entire studio is authentic in vintage pieces so there is no shortage of inspiration for your photos. The owner, Ramsey, is very passionate about keeping it pretty authentic and true to the nature of her theme, which shows in her work. I am so glad I found this place. It's very fun and versatile, and I plan on doing another shoot in the future, there's just too many themes to choose from! Whether it be a fun treat for your boyfriend/husband, or as a thoughtful gift certificate for a friend, you will definitely feel empowered by doing a pinup shoot for yourself. This is a class act all the way... Pure art and I don't mean "art" in the way that "nudity is art" way, but "art" as in "posing in a bustier and tights can be just as tasteful as a fully clothed portrait" sort of way. One of the most amazing experiences ever!! I loved it so much, I've been for two sessions. I tried this studio when they ran their Groupon special. I was so nervous because I'd never tried anything like it, but I love the pinup era and wanted to go for something out of my comfort zone. The studio is in a beautiful home in the historic district of Tucson and it's decked out with vintage everything! The photographer, Ramsey, is totally laid back and awesome. AND she has chocolate. They bring in a makeup artist and someone to help you pose while playing old 50's movies in the background. They put you at ease while discussing what kind of shoot you'd like and then pull out outfits to try on from a massive, awesome dress-up closet full of authentic vintage things. They also have tons of props! Tiki torches, umbrellas, vintage cameras, luggage, etc... whatever theme you build they have things to supplement it. I did a Bettie Page style leopard swimsuit/tiki theme and also a travel photography inspired theme. It really is like an amazing dress up session for grownups! I could hide in that closet and play dress up for DAYS. They transform you by doing your makeup and fitting a wig (they'll also do your actual hair if you add that) and then the actual photo shoot is a ton of fun. This is an experience I wish everyone would get a chance to have. And the pictures? I've never been so happy with a picture of myself!!!!!!! I'd really encourage anyone who is interested to just do it, don't procrastinate. I cannot express what a wonderful experience this was even for someone who isn't a size 2. I never felt embarrassed or like I shouldn't be there. I just recently had a shoot with Flash in the Past and they did a FANTASTIC job! Flash in the Past specializes in old-fashioned pinup photos from back in the day a la Marilyn Monroe and Bettie Page. They have a wide variety of themes as well as backdrops to shoot from. You get the star treatment when you are there including fun drink and food specials, a complete makeup makeover and choice of wigs or having your hair done by a stylist. The photographer, Ramsey, was very friendly and very helpful in having me pose as well as giving me pointers on correct facial expressions. She made me feel very comfortable and did such a fantastic job with posing me and listening to my ideas for shoots. I contacted FITP to arrange a shoot for my wedding gift for my soon to be husband. It was a great decision! Never have I ever had so much fun in front of a camera!! The downtown location is an adorable spacious studio. I truly felt as if I was taken back in time for a few hours. I loved looking at their vintage collection while trying potential outfits on and it was awesome that there was an old movie playing during my time in the studio (The Seven Year Itch - lol). Both Lindsey and Ramsey were great to work with and they made me feel comfortable and beautiful. Lindsey did my hair and make up wonderfully and even let me keep my fake lashes!! What a cool funky shop right here in Downtown Tucson. Oh my, if your'e into yesteryear than this is the shop for you. What a trip down memory lane. Saw some clothing that my Mama wore in the 1940's and l950's that are here in excellent condition and ready to wear. Lovely hats, and purses galore. You can also have some pictures taken in these oldie clothes. What a nice combo and photos and adding some zip to your wardrobe. read more

I found this place through Groupon. I was hesitant at first but my friend and I decided to try it. We thought it would be something fun to do together and if all went well, our boyfriends would get a great valentines day gift. Well, This place exceeded our expectations! We had the best time! We felt like we stepped back in time and were at our girlfriends house trying on each others clothes. They made us feel totally comfortable during the shoot even though we were in barely there clothing. We left wanting to do it all over again. We are already figuring out when we want to go back. I LOVED my experience with Flash in the Past. I bought a group-on for a mini package which included a session consisting of a full transformation into a vintage pin-up (make-up, wig, authentic vintage clothing), photography sitting, a poster-sized print of one image and a CD with 3 of my images. I chose to pay a little extra to have the hair and make-up stylist work with my own hair instead of a wig. I am so happy with my make-over. My hair and make-up were done beautifully and looked amazing for the pictures. Ramsey (the owner and photographer) was fun and informative. She directed my vintage poses throughout and made me feel relaxed. I received my proofs via email within days (quicker than anticipated) and was so thrilled with the result that I ordered extra prints. This is a great experience. I paid extra to get my hair done and it was totally worth it. My makeup was flawless and even though I am not used to wearing makeup they made me feel and look amazing. I even got to keep the false lashes after. Once I actually got in to taking the pictures Ramsey made sure I felt comfortable even is some of the poses weren't the easiest to keep while taking pictures.
