It's good to see this place has the amount of stars it deserves.
this pertains to the whole experience at buffalo: buying + selling. it's a long review, about as long as they made us wait. kind of ;) here we go. let's start with leah, one of the manager's. oh leah. this girl should seriously be FIRED.. i hate to be mean, but it's true. she mentioned she's been with buffalo for 3 years. 3 years?! how on earth have you stayed in retail for so long if you give such horrible customer service?
i stopped in to sell some clothes. after about 15 minutes of waiting, someone takes my stuff. she looks at one item & then another customer comes up to buy something. i guess customers purchasing things have priority - so she excuses herself while she rings up the other customer. LEAH finishes with the person she just helped and says to us, "i'll be right with you in a minute." yea, more like 10. my fiance and i just stand there as leah takes a pair of boots she bought from the last customer, tags them, gets the shoe sticker size, puts tissue on the inside, and rearranges the ENTIRE shelf to display these boots. okay, so you can't do that in a minute after helping us..? whatever.
honestly: it seemed intentional. like she was deliberately stalling and making us wait. sad.
so leah finally gets to looking at our stuff. she's slow as molasses. i tried to make small talk and be friendly but she seemed a little ditzy, she didn't really seem to care what we were saying and she kept looking around at other things. she was very easily distracted. first she would turn to the person next to her and ask about one of my items. really? you're a 'professional buyer' you have to discuss the item and it's value? then another customer came up to buy something so once again, we had to hold while she rang that customer up.
okay, so all that to say: we started selling at about 1:20. at this point, it's 2:00 and leah STILL isn't finished with our bags.
finally, there are a few items left & another manager, OSCAR, comes in. leah says oscar will take over buying now. good riddens. seriously leah, shame on you for being so careless with people's time. badly done. really. i'm still pissed.
oscar seems nice enough and he was the reason i was almost going to give this place 2 stars. he was amiable and seemed sincere. he looks at a couple items when a person comes to buy something. instead of making us WAIT like LEAH did, oscar says "let me find someone to ring you up, i mean, we gotta keep this selling line moving" and continues with our items. - um, okay have you mentioned that to leah because she seems to have missed this very simple idea...KEEP THE LINE MOVING! so he finishes the buying & we tell him we want to use the trade value. so he says ashley will ring us up.
ashley, who is wearing a teddy bear sweatshirt which i found interesting, is ringing up one person at this point so we wait (again) after that, she turns to us and says "oh are you next?" i say yes. since oscar is still writing our slip, she moves on to the next customer in line. um, okay. she could have totally started ringing our stuff, we had about 10 things! oscar finishes the store credit slip and we wait for ashley (again). i assume ashley will ring us up next, since she said she would, when ANOTHER customer comes up and ashley starts to help that lady!! at this point, i say to ashley a polite way, "could you possibly you ring us up next because you said you would and we've been here for over an hour." ashley just looks at me, gives me a dirty look, completely DISREGARDS what i just said to her and proceeds to ring up the other lady. are you joking? what a jerk. take that teddy bear sweatshirt off, you're not cool.
we got into our car at 2:35. we were there at 1:20.
that's all. wow. can you tell i was upset? :)
okay. so review:
leah = inconsiderate, horrible, unprofessional, + intentionally makes people wait.
oscar = nice enough, nicely dressed too.
ashley = rude, attitude problem, liar.
buffalo: you don't value your customers or their time and the success of your store will be determined by your service you offer, which is HORRIBLE. i went down to deelux and crossroads and their buy/trade system is set up so much better. there's a sign in sheet and one DEDICATED buyer.
also: the quality of items has really gone DOWN! i came here in college 3 years ago + there was a lot of good stuff. i looked at blouses, dresses, denim, sweaters, tanks - i didn't find one single thing to buy! plus their stuff is way overpriced. $18 for a rvca tee? i could have got it at the rvca warehouse sale for $10. we did find some nice (overpriced) sweaters + jeans for my fiance though.
i will never come here again. i would rather support crossroads and deelux - their stuff is way better (and more reasonably priced) anyway.
if you read this whole thing: thanks. spread the word.
ps: i used ALL 5000 characters on this review. buffalo you suck! read more
