Read the yelp reviews and I had to try this place. We were heading from Dallas to Austin and the location was perfect, right on the access road for 35. We were welcomed in by the friendly proprietors. When I asked for recommendations, they gave us samples of various meats - pulled pork, brisket, burnt ends, and sausage. They even gave us little cups of chili. All of it was delicious so it was hard to choose. I settled on the burnt ends with sides of jalapeño beans and greens. My husband got to pulled pork sandwich special: sandwich, side (he got yummy potato salad), and a drink for $10. We enjoyed every bite. Buffalo Creek will be a regular stop when we head to Austin! Driving from Dallas to Austin, stopped here for a quick lunch and what a pleasant experience! We had the sliced brisket sandwich and turkey sandwich. Both were exceptionally well done,.... Like Franklins and Terry Blacks well done!!!! Sides were basic and delicious, service was 10/10. Ambiance is typical BBQ and I would not change a thing. Stopped here for lunch as part of a road trip with some of my friends. Immediately when we walked in, we were met with the amazing smell of all the food. While we were deciding what to get, the staff gave us free samples of the meats to try. They were all so good - especially the sausage! I ended up getting the "Texas Trash" bowl with mac & cheese, beans, and brisket, topped with onions and shredded cheese. It was so good! They also gave me a slice of toast to go with it. The staff were very friendly and hospitable as well - Jose and Laura were great! They gave us such good service and were patient with us as we were all deciding. It's such a gem of a place. During our trip back from Fort Worth my wife and I stopped in for some lunch. The barbecue was good to average but nothing to consider a competition style. While the brisket had a light soft smoke taste the ribs that my wife ordered were more smokey. The sausage had some snap to it so it did not appear to be homemade but it was flavorful. The highlight was the staff was friendly and we were quickly greeted at the door and made us feel welcomed. So that goes a long way in my book. I arrived about an hour before their closing time and often times places start shutting down early, but not this place. Everything was fully stocked. I ordered the two meat plate and got lean brisket and turkey. Both were excellent and moist. I enjoyed the spicy bbq sauce. The two sides I chose were jalapeño pinto beans and Mac n cheese. Both were delicious and you served yourself the sides. The meal came with Texas toast, nice and buttery. The people were extremely friendly and the place was nice and clean. I even got a complementary warm peach cobbler with the crust I like. While I am from out of town, I will definitely visit this place again if I am ever in the area again. read more

We have driven past this location several times and we finally stopped in. First off the guy handling the brisket and the girl assisting and working the register were so friendly and inviting. They were so nice! I got the burnt ends with the jalapeno sausage and my wife got the turkey sandwich and everything was so good! You know the bbq is amazing when you don't need bbq sauce. Those ribs!! Perfection. Now they did sell out kinda early. I got the last three ribs at around 6pm on a Saturday. Thought that was kinda crazy. Hope they are prepared for the solar eclipse next week. Now we didn't get any sides but the beans looked good. Brisket was tender. Ribs were so good.
