Shhhhh I could spend hours in this store. Kirkland's has a great selection of pieces for every room in your house. This is a really good-sized store, too, so you are probably going to get what you need in-stock. Once upon a time, Pier 1 was right down the road from me. When they closed their doors for good, I was a bit bummed because I honestly had forgotten about Kirkland's. I don't go out to this side of town very often, but I was looking up home decor places online when I moved and lo and behold, Kirkland's popped up. I was so happy to walk back in their doors! Yes, there's Home Goods, and who doesn't love Home Goods? They've got a great selection, too, but I find the items at Kirkland's to be a step above. The store is arranged more nicely and is less picked-over. Sometimes at HG, you'll see things that are broken or dented in some way. I've never seen that at Kirkland's. Something else - they've often got a coupon or other discount you can use at the register, but I find their prices to be fair as they sell goods that are not cheaply made and rarely damaged. If you're looking for fall decor, Christmas decorations, something for Easter or Thanksgiving or Valentine's Day or summer, they've got you covered each season with fresh decor to make your house feel like a home.

If…read moreyou love watching home renovation shows, this is the place those people would shop for all the good stuff. They have SO MANY cool things of all ages, from antiques to newer stuff, everything including the kitchen sink. Prices vary widely but most items are clearly marked so you'll know which things are within budget and which are the splurges. Bricks and countertops are in the fenced-in outdoor area. The staircase to the second and third levels is just inside the main entry on the right, and there is a gender-neutral restroom there too. Staff is friendly, helpful, and easy to find. Parking is available on the street (free, no meters). I also met a very sweet and friendly shop cat wandering around. Bonus points for the shop cat. Note - as with any large building full of really cool very old building materials, there is a pervasive musty smell in the air, so if you're sensitive to those things (allergies, asthma, etc.) a mask might be a good idea.

The store is massive, probably bigger than the parking lot actually. There's a lot of everything. Need a mirror or a clock? There's several aisles of them. Need couch pillows? They're organized by color and there's several aisles of those too. We came for table lamps, and even those are organized by color. Heads up that most of the lamps are sold as "mix and match", meaning the lamp and the shade are sold separately. But I like the flexibility this offers. There's lots of shades to choose from, again organized by color. The prices for the items we looked at seemed fair. The store was very clean and well organized, making shopping a breeze. I highly recommend coming in if you're looking to decorate your home, patio, or garden.

We went back to the same cashier that cashed me out the 1st time & she would NOT honor the 15% off since she already scanned it- even though I never left the front of the store & my husband was clearly with me. I understand the code may not have worked a 2nd time but she could have made an exception bc the 15% wouldve worked if I had put all items in the same transaction. My husband then asked her if theres a military discount to which she wasnt not thrilled about so I said YES, Its 10% off bc we have used it at that location before. He went show his military ID but of course he accidentally left it in his cammies. (His fault-he shouldve had it with him) however the cashier still shouldve applied the 10% to honor the veteran discount anyways. He has photos of his id & clear proof of his service. Wasnt good enough. So I said actually we wont be purchasing this then- my husband was kind enough to take back both heavy chair boxes to the section so that the cashier didnt have to carry them. We were completely unsatisfied with our interaction. Its not about the $20 we wouldve saved it was about the cashier's unfriendlyness & clear annoyance to be bothered by us late at night toward close. She should've made it right even if it meant calling a manager. Ive worked retail for years- id never question if someone was a vet or deny them their 10% if they forgot their card out of respect. People don't l typically lie about being a US service member over a few bucks. And really, the 15% shouldve been honored considering I never left the store and the transaction couldve been 1... I didnt realize he wanted to buy more items especially close to $200. I filled out the survey on the bottom of the receipt and it only allows me to type 1200 characters so I couldnt even tell the whole story. So thats why im leaving this review on yelp.
