Important note: This company was bought by Dunrite Heating and Air. Please read their reviews…read morebefore calling this company. Sadly, the owner of Nick's passed away and this company is now owned by Dunrite. I called that company based on the reviews of Nick's Air Services, but their services has definitely NOT been the same as mentioned on this profile. In summary, this company is expensive, can make improper recommendations, and the office is very difficult to get anyone to call you back. I absolutely would not use them again in the future and - had I read their Yelp profile for Dunrite Heating & Cooling - would never have called them in the first place. My experience: My air conditioning due to leaked refrigerant due to another HVAC technician not correct. Nick's/Dunrite came out during the same day and quickly identified the problem. There was a leak on the schrader valve. They got us back to running - for nearly $200/per pound of refrigerant. 5 lbs = about $1,000. Wow, but we had no choice as my original installer was not available. Our unit has not been keeping up with the 90s for the past two months and the technician recommended 3 different options. I chose 2 of the 3 options: a larger return air duct AND repairing the plenum. I was anxious to get the work scheduled and it took me hounding them to get them to schedule the work. Communicating with this office was very painful. I would never get calls back and would just get a text message indicating when they had scheduled the appointment. Their front desk support was exceedingly helpful but not empowered to do anything besides schedule appointments and pass along info. I finally had the appointment and the technician went to the wrong address. I got a call from them saying they had been at my house and then they proceeded to the next job. I spoke to them and learned they were at the wrong house, but could not turn around to go back to my house. I had to wait until the following week to get the appointment rescheduled. What a disaster. It got worse. The work was finally done - the return air duct and the plenum. I waited a couple of days, but there was NO change in the air conditioning. I called them back again and they scheduled another technician to come out. The second technician came out, a more senior technician, who confirmed that the unit was undersized and "working as it was designed" to cool at 75-76. I don't know a single person who is comfortable with 75-76 in the house when the outside is in the 90s. I called customer service again. When I finally got someone, I got a call from William, who is their most senior technician (an older guys in his late-50s probably). He came out with the original technical and instructed him how to properly do a heat load calculation. They determined indeed the unit is undersized and I needed a 3 ton. I called back the customer service asking for a refund to the work. I've called at least 3-4 times, each time speaking with a very nice person. However, I've still not been called back. What a disaster. I've finally had to resort to filing a complaint with my credit card and disputing it through them. It's unfortunate and I didn't want to have to do this, but - when no one will call you back - it's very very hard to trust this company to make things right.

It was 6 PM when they were called! Turns out the whole HVAC system needed to be replaced as it was at least 17 years old (the A/C unit was installed in 1997). After getting the approval to do the job, we were told that he and his crew would be back between 8:30 and 9:00 AM the next day, and they were here at 8:30. I have never had a more professional and courteous service crew in my home. Everything was as clean as they found it. Actually even cleaner, as we had not been able to rake behind the A/C unit because of all of the wires and pipes. Once the old unit was out, I tried to get the rake back there, but Chris took it from me and took care of it. Thank you guys!

He was able to track down the electrical issue and get us back up and running, but was very upfront that the repair was temporary and eventually the system would need to be replaced. We later hired them to do a full HVAC replacement. Dragon came back out with his team bright and early, and they replaced the equipment in the attic and upgraded the outside compressor. Everything was done with precision, they knew exactly what they were doing, and the whole job was handled professionally. Their pricing is very fair. Not the cheapest, not the most expensive, but done RIGHT. And when it comes to HVAC, that's what matters. Absolutely recommend Dragon and his team.

Same issue happened, so I got my stuff out and cleaned out the clog again; but the compressor wasn't starting back up. Dragon theorized on the phone that maybe the compressor was turning on off on off on off and overheated when the condensation line was clogged... So he instructed me (to save me an emergency call), to hook my hose up and flood the compressor with water for 10 minutes to help cool down the compressor. Long story short, my A/C is now back completely working. When I heard the compressor kick back on, I was like "NO WAY". These guys actually care about your A/C, and they're not out there trying to make a quick buck. I will call them when I have the BIG a/c problems.
