This last time I went, I was just mindin my business looking at everything, and I caught a glimpse of the worker, staring at me two or three times. One worker even took something from my hands, and told me that it would be waiting for me at the front. This is not something heavy, nor bulky. So I don't understand why they would take it for me. When I go to check out, I noticed the price I got rang up for was a different price than what I saw, the worker very politely explains that it must've been misplaced, and off to the side, I see the three workers kind of chuckle, like they assumed I placed it there on purpose and got caught? I appreciate the quality of these items, but I would rather make a further drive, then to have to put up with this stuff.

HomeGoods this time was No Good…read more I really wanted to like the HomeGoods in Downey because they have an amazing assortment of home décor, seasonal items, kitchen, bath, and home products, all at reasonable prices. There are definitely plenty of great finds throughout the store. Unfortunately, the customer service and overall shopping experience left a lot to be desired. Employees rarely acknowledged or greeted customers, and several seemed bothered when customers were shopping in the areas where they were working. I also noticed several damaged items sitting on the sales floor, which made the store feel less maintained than it should be. The checkout experience was especially disappointing. There were approximately 15 customers waiting in line with only one cashier working. Meanwhile, two managers were standing near the front having what appeared to be a personal conversation. They spent about five minutes talking and then walked away without offering any assistance to the cashier or the customers waiting in line. The merchandise selection is definitely a strength, but good products can only go so far. Better customer service, more attention to the sales floor, and stronger leadership presence at checkout would make a big difference in the overall experience.

A large majority of the items looked like complete trash. Many, MANY things scratched and scuffed up. I don't want to decorate with crappy looking decorations. A couple items were even ripped (see America sign photo). What the heck!? Who in their right mind would think it's ok to stock that on the shelves? I contemplated taking these items to someone but it would have likely filled the bulk of the cart. I wish I would have taken more pictures but you can see how bad just the few were that I took. One of our favorite things is to look through clearance items. We were hoping to maybe find some bargain buys. We didn't. Some items were on clearance alright, but the discount wasn't significant enough to peak our interest. From $3.99 to $3.49, or from $5.99 to $5.00. Meh. And I found a few items with red tag prices higher than the regular price tag. I know... that doesn't make sense. Please refer to one of the pictures attached where the original compare price is at $14.00, and their price is $9.99 but the red tag price is $12.00. WHAT?! We saw a few of these. It was a little off putting. And that's how I lost interest. We ended up leaving empty-handed. The store was pretty clean and organized.
