Wish Yelp had Zero stars. I need to remember to never book with Budget again. Car reeked like farts. Then, they didn't have the car in stock, and gave us another car that wasn't cleaned from the previous rental, and had alerts on being low on coolant, windshield washer fluid, etc. Long wait times- not sure why their process takes so long when car is prebooked and prepaid- not sure what they're actually doing on their computer. Had an issue with the rental, called their customer service line, terrible AI bot, finally got a person- who said I needed to talk to a different customer service line. Neither person spoke clear English. Called a few days before my rental and asked what needed to be done if I wanted to drive the car in Canada. The agent said I needed a note in my reservation and I gave him the reservation details. He then quoted me in the $390s for the rental, or in the $360s if I wanted to prepay. I told him I had a $350 price from Costco. He said he would have to cancel that reservation because he can't update a reservation made through Costco and book a new one. I asked if I could just tell the agent when I picked up the car and I couldn't do that. Then I said to forget it, I will just take public transportation. A few seconds later he said, "Oh, I can get in the file now". I was almost scammed. I was originally leaning towards not taking a car to Victoria but just wanted to know if I could, and am happy I did not. After returning the car, I did not get a paper receipt. The next day I noticed I only got back $175.20 of my $200 deposit. After looking at my receipt in email, I was charged $17.99 for refueling. Receipt also said the gauge was 8/8. I called billing and after giving her all the info on my refueling by the airport, she was going to refund the $17.99 plus tax. I said that doesn't add up to the $200 deposit and asked what else I was charged for. Did not get an answer. She then said she would add $4.95. I did get the refund credited to my account the next day. read more

Really frustrating landing from a flight and having to wait three hours for a rental. Waiting in line for the rental was longer than my flight here. Had to change my whole scheduled plans. **Be aware, I would strongly recommend avoiding this rental location.** My first rental experience with them was actually good, so I came back and rented another car about a week later. Unfortunately, the second experience was the complete opposite. The car was in poor condition, the customer service was terrible, and the staff, especially Stacey (Asian staff member), was extremely rude and unhelpful. The long lines and overall customer experience were frustrating. I was also significantly overcharged, despite returning the car with **more battery charge than when I picked it up**. I waited over three hours for my reservation. When I got the first vehicle, it was already booked to another customer. The staff, Farheed, on the second floor told me he could not help me and was not able to locate a manager. On the fifth floor, Lynn was inconsiderate and also stated she cannot locate a manager or supervisor. She initially refused to even share her name and her name tag was not visible. When I tried to exit with the second vehicle, I was stopped and told it was already booked to someone else as well. When I considered canceling due to having no vehicle available for my reservation, I was told they could not guarantee a refund although there were no vehicle available. This was the worst experience and ruined my first night of vacation. I lost three hours. I cannot get back. I tried to call customer service, but they were already closed for the day. I had a reservation for our arrival at the SeaTac rental car location on 7-14/26 and upon arrival, there was a line of between 50-100 people for Budget while other agencies had no waiting line except Avis which had out 15-20 waiting. The insult to customers was exacerbated by the fact that there were only 3-4 agents to help! Fortunately, another agency had available cars and no line as well as personnel that were extremely helpful. So far, my experience with this particular Budget was a much better one than the I had in FLL over a month ago. Might have helped that I stopped in around noon on a Sunday, where there was no line and I was helped right away. Guy was okay, instructed me over to the outside elevators to get where the cars were. A nice girl who was newer helped me track the car down and I was able to leave. I did have some issues with the pass getting out of the garage (FLL just needed my ID, here there was a code to scan that went to my junk mail. I wasn't told I would need a code to get out by the guy at the desk so it took me a moment. I wasn't crazy about this particular car (Chevy Malibu) but it got me where I needed to go. The only problem I had-and this was me at fault-was I went to fill up my tank using cash right before returning. I saw the point float to 'F', so I figured I was good. Turns out it floated to 'F', then drifts away since the car wasn't full. Understandably so, I was charged for fuel by Budget at $9+ a gallon, so please make sure you completely fill up your tank! This was nearly an extra $30 that I could have saved, so don't be stupid as I was. read more

The extremely long wait for my car -- despite there being only one person ahead of me -- was frustrating enough. However, that inconvenience pales in comparison to the erroneous charges this location continues to add after the fact. I should have learned my lesson the first time, when an agent attempted to charge me for a dent that was clearly documented on the rental paperwork before I ever left the lot. Now, on a separate rental, I've been charged $250 for "excessive sand" in the vehicle. I did not visit a beach or any sandy area. Any dirt found in the car would have been the result of normal use in a region where it rains frequently and road debris sticks to wet shoes. These repeated, unsupported charges are unacceptable and reflect a troubling pattern at this location. I have requested a prompt review and correction of these improper fees. I also reached out to Costco Travel, where I booked the car, with no resolution. The lower rate this location offers is not worth the trouble, especially when they find a way to overcharge you on the back end. This one is located near Seattle Airport. First expect to get in line for a shuttle bus to get to the rental place. Then get in line to get your rental. The line was ridiculously long on this Monday Morning! I've never experienced anything quite like it except when I was stuck due to snow (everyone wanted a car). Anyways, they had multiple and I mean like 10 plus registers (computers) but only with 2/3 customer service representatives. That seems unacceptable especially when the like had over 30 people. (That's not an exaggeration). I don't know what happened. Whether they were short staffed or whatever the cause, it was not a good day. We waited over 2hours in line. And there was no kind of remedy for this long line. One plus to the long wait was, we needed a larger car. They granted it with no charge. Still can't make up for the time loss but it was something. We had to walk a bit far to catch the rental car shuttle. There were two staff collecting luggage and loading it on to the luggage section of the shuttle. Thank you for that courteous and efficient service. The shuttle drops you off and you find your rental company. We had reserved through Budget. I was EXTREMELY GRATEFUL for the chairs as my mom stood in line... 45 minutes to get the car!!! When we headed down to the garage she said there was a sign on he counter reading: 190 cars weren't returned yesterday. I told her: I hope that's not an indication that returning is a bigger headache than renting! We had to walk outside to fetch an elevator down to Express Assignment Service. As we again waited w more than a half dozen other travelers I joked "they're using that Express word pretty loosely" The two valets started offering everyone an upgraded rental for the wait. When my mom returned the car the following Friday she had forgot her kindle. She returned for it and a girl went to fetch it. My mom asked her if she could give her this, handing her $5? The girl said she didn't have to. My mom replied: well you didn't have to go look for and find my kindle. Service was friendly but I'm not sure what they need to do about executing all the reservations? If you want to start your vacation in line, with a few hundred people, for 3 hours Budget/Avis is for you. I can see by the 1 1/2 stars total for them that I am not the only person who has dealt with this absolutely awful company. DO NOT RENT FROM BUDGET/AVIS AT SEATAC!!! We had reserved a Luxury Car... when I arrived at the counter after 3 hours (and I am not kidding... it was 3 Freakin Hours) I was informed they had "A Pick-up Truck, an Electric Car and a Mini Van". I asked about the Luxury Car and was told, "take it or leave it". So I paid for a Luxury Car and got a Mini Van! Felt like Charlie Brown "I got a Rock". Because it was so late, we couldn't drive to our destination and had to stay in Seattle, NOT CHEAP! When I got to the destination, other filmmakers said they encountered the same "Take it or Leave it". I wrote about the problem... no response. They should be looked into as a monopoly! Added 1 star for the price at booking. It was competitive pricing but due to them not having my car I booked it similar, I had to pay to get a smaller vehicle. This spot is not open 24/7 like the website states. After a certain time, you are directed to Avis right next door. Hopefully you have time as it took almost an hour to get a car for an arriving flight after 1am. Employees are nice- it's just such a long wait. 45 mins later and somewhat frustrated, I was finally on my way! In a nutshell, the operating procedure for this location can be much improved. Cars should be checked to ensure they are in working condition before assigning to customers. Short of that, I had to swap out two cars before getting one that is functional. Here's more details for those interested... The 1st car was locked so I had to drag everything back to the counter and explain that I wasn't able to get in as instructed. I was informed that this one likely had issues and that's why it's locked (so shouldn't this be checked before assigning to a customer?) The 2nd assigned car looked promising as it appeared newer so I was quite frankly excited for the swap. After spending 15+ mins checking the car for damages and also Clorox wiping the car down, I proceed to load up the car and thought I'll be on my way shortly. Surprise, surprise, the car didn't start. After multiple attempts and self diagnosis, it sounded like it's a battery problem. Not exactly what I was hoping for after a long flight and back I go to the counter! By this time, I was praying to be getting out of here as soon as I can, and I took whatever car was assigned. However, instead of going through my normal ritual of cleaning first, I proceeded to start the car to make sure it's actually working. In this case, third time is a charm and after a quick clean (I found the hidden treasure of an old French fry in the seat crevice), I was finally on my way. Hooray?
