Worst rental car ever. They didn't have the size that we ordered, but they didn't have it. So they made us pay even more for an "upgrade", even though we already paid for an even larger upgrade. The car was dirty when we got it. The car was COVERED in animal hair. I will be furious if they charge us for their own stupidity of not cleaning the car. Horrible place! EDIT: We just went to return the car...AND IT WAS CLOSED! We came on time and on the right day. Someone just hand wrote a note and taped it to the door saying to leave the car at the building and just drop off the keys, yet we would still be responsible if something happened to the car even though we returned it. We were not able to keep it another day because we would be charged for another day. [edit: they charged us for another day when we returned it on time! All were very polite even when they were busy taking calls and helping customers in the lobby. They also had no trouble extending my rental due to my flight delay. This is a Review for https://www.budget.com. I was a victim of a Bait & switch. I needed to rent a vehicle that could hold 7 people. I picked a cadillac escalade and used Budgets "PayNow" and saved a few bucks. I did everything online, reserved the car and paid. My email confirmation said I rented a Jeep Wrangler.- I NEVER even looked at that vehicle. WTF. Long story short after calling Customer service 1 min after confirmation, they said I had to pay $50 to cancel the reservation or $922 to upgrade to a cadillac escalade. This location is for Avis and Budget. Let's just say next time I would rent ANYWHERE else! They gave us a car that wouldn't fit our car seat for our 2 year old. They pretty much told us to deal with it because that was the class of car we rented. They had other cars in our class available that would have fit our child safety seat but told us they didn't. While we were at the counter they were letting their friends pick out a car (Same class) they wanted and then they told us we didn't have an option. We ended up going to the airport to switch it out because it wasn't safe. They have zero concerns about safety as long as they get paid. To add to it they gave us a car below our class and insisted that it was our class. We checked the website and verified with the company that the car they gave us was not the class that we had rented. Not only did they flat out lie to us but they interfered with the safety of our child. This place will rip you off. They don't care what size of car you pay for because they will give you what they want to give you regardless. I would say that this location is not to be trusted and will indeed scam you. Unbelievable another rental car place that doesn't understand customer service. A few days ago I called a made a reservation for a specific vehicle, when I arrived NOT SO MUCH. When I explained to them, she wanted to argue about what I reserved. At this point on a Sunday I stuck with a vehicle that has bird crap on the side, dings and scratches and dirty interior. If I could give this rental agency a zero, I would! Car had over 46,000 on it, was not clean--still had bugs on the windshield and had a service light on--needed service in 30 miles. Notified rental attendeant and she said no problem just drive it. Car had fairly serious vibration at 70 miles per hour with rim or tire out of balance problem. Tried to return the car two days early, however, Memorial holiday, so agency was closed. Checked for hours to bring car in next morning ($63. dollar additional rental) and on the net the hours say 7AM to 5PM. However, when I arrived at 7AM I was told, "our hours are 8AM to 5PM and Google wants us to pay to change our hours on the net." I had to return home and come back an hour later. How convenient for the customer!? Car was inspected while I waited and I paid for the rental and left. In a routine check on my on-line banking, I noticed that the card I used to pay for the rental was charged an additional $117.45. I called and talked to an attendant at the agency and asked what the additional charge was for. She said it had smoke odor and even though neither I nor my wife nor anyone had smoked in the car while in our possession, (cigarette smoke makes my wife sick--she has never smoked and can smell it a block away), the agency charged a smoke odor fee. My wife was livid! How convenient for extra monies for the agency! I spent an hour on the phone with Budget Customer Service to have this bogus charge removed. I have rented from Budget and Avis for years and have found both to be excellent car rental companies, however, do yourself a favor and pick a different rental agency than this one! read more

It was a matter of having to extend the rental for an additional day the shop that was repairing my car was willing to use their credit card and put me on as a driver but apparently this was too cumbersome for the team at this budget location because they were less than honest about their ability to do this. *late post* My husband and I picked up our rental truck on August 20 for a move from Arizona to California. We got the truck we reserved online and customer service was very fast and polite. My biggest complaint was the lady who did the inspection spent all of 3 minutes doing a walk around looking for damage. She didn't go over anything in the cab, how much fuel was in it, if the lights worked, etc. We left the next morning at 2am and not even an hour into our 15 hour drive, my husband was pulled over due to having no tail lights. The police officer was very nice and did not give my husband a ticket. Had the lady done a proper inspection, she would have known the lights didn't work, and we wouldn't have gotten pulled over. Granted, we should have asked her to do a more thorough job, but on the other hand it isn't my responsibility to tell someone to,do their job... Very frustrating. read more

When I went to return the vehicle the employees told me that there was nothing they could do and that they would not reimburse the money. I had to call customer service myself to get my refund. We rented a minivan for a trip out of town. For the most part, the minivan was great, other than we had some issues pumping gas in CA. The intake didn't fit just right on the California pumps, and made pumping gas difficult. The pumps would shut off every few seconds and you'd have to readjust and start over. One gas station the employee tried pumping with the same issue. However, that is not the reason for the one star. The one star is for the behavior of the woman at the rental agency when I returned my car. I had filled the tank before returning the car, then drove straight to Budget. When I was inside, the young man came back in and asked if I wanted to fill up the car or if I wanted to pay them to do it. I explained it should be full, I just came from the gas station. He went out to double check while the lady at the desk told me if I didn't want to take it to fill it, I'd be charged for the gas because it's their policy. I was like, bu the pump shut off because it was full when I just got gas. She said that it may have been an air bubble. So I was like then I have to pay for an air bubble? That's the policy. Well, the young man came back inside and explained that the gas monitor had malfunctioned. This woman was so rude, and continued to explain in a rude tone that he's working an 8 hour day and doesn't need the next customer to yell at him because the gas isn't full. For real?!? I will be sending a complaint letter to their corporate office as well. That could have been handled multiple ways that would have been better! read more

Stay far away! My friend and I rented a vehicle back in march to go up north in Arizona for the weekend. When we came back, we rent to the gas station ACROSS the street from them and filled the tank- completely. Today, my friend looked at his bank statement, Budget charged $56 to the credit card. He called and the man said that the car wasn't full. This was a VW Passat. So to drive across the street and turn the car in, we used a TANK of gas? Are you serious? What a SCAM! So now my friend is pulling his bank statements because Budget says that they need the actual receipt. Then has to go to the gas station to see if they can reprint the receipt. Such a joke. I really wish I would have read all these reviews before renting at this place, I went through Priceline and paid for my rental in advanced. They did not seem too happy about that and made it very clear by saying often "that's Priceline, not us", "that's Priceline prices not us", not to mention as I wait for the vehicle, another person is out there vacuming and giving it a quick wipe down, not to mention there was trash left in the vehicle. She told me that I had picked up the car too soon, she said I would have to drop it off at the same time, I asked if there was a grace period since we were going up north, she said no. I don't like them, they are not looking out for their customers and are not very worried about establishing a good customer relationships, they will not negotiate nor will they try to get people to come back. I needed a full sized pick up truck for one day to move some furniture. This location is partnered with Avis so I found a full sized pick up online and reserved it. When I showed up to pick up the truck it was a mid sized truck that had a short bed on it. I could have saved the money and used my freaking mini van! To top it off they were so unorganized that they had keys scattered all over the counter and couldn't find the sad excuse for a truck keys. Finally I get the vehicle (by the grace of ONE awesome employee who was hustling his butt off) and drive away. I brought the truck back the next day and once again the place was packed, and the organization was awful. They had some kid working who was clearly new (probably should train new hires first) and had no ambition. He acted as if his job was terribly inconvenient on his Sunday. I return the car and thankfully the man behind the counter was able to take a little bit off the bill because of the truck not being what I had reserved which I was very appreciative of. This alone ALMOST retained my business. The Icing on the cake was ONE MONTH later getting a letter saying I had damaged the vehicle (Which I knew I had not). I call the claims dept., which I had to make special arrangements to do because their hours of operation weren't friendly to anyone who has a job, and they explained to me that they hadn't actually checked in the truck for 2 weeks after I dropped it off so this was sent to me in error. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Who makes these decisions? If you're backed up how in the heck can you rationalize penalizing the customer for this? Had i just paid it instead of calling I would have litterally been paying 5x more for horrible service. I'm sure not going to be using this Avis/Budget location ever again. In 2015 I have rented from this location 6 times and the Avis vehicles are always superficially clean, in other words the cars always feel filthy. The workers try to make it right however thier management sucks. They are rude and always make you feel like they are doing you a favor. I rent from this location as it's convenient but on my last rental the women agent nailed it for me with her unprofessional attitude and snooty responses. I don't see how they can keep a customer base nor good working carrying employees when the management exhibits such low customer satisfaction. We got boxes over at Quick Product Solutions in Phoenix (great deal!!) and then loaded up at 16' truck a third of the way before realizing that our truck was too small. Due to unexpected personal auto problems, I had to rent a vehicle to get an antique from Southern Oregon to my daughter's home in Glendale, AZ. The rental process was GREAT out of Oregon; I rented a vehicle as a one-way rental, the rep in Medford was AMAZING, and we left with a beautiful SUV. On arrival in AZ, 30+ hours later, I was shocked to learn that I couldn't obtain another 1-way rental to return home - without paying a ridiculous, one-way penalty fee. WHY WASN'T THIS EXPLAINED ONLINE WHEN I BOOKED THE FIRST ONE-WAY??? The excuse, lame as it is, that was given to me was that ALL OF THEIR BRANCHES HAD BEEN SOLD OUT FOR MONTHS and due to their needing to sell their 2017 cars, they had to hold onto all of their vehicles and not let them go one-way. Obviously, this was a poorly concocted reason because less than 48 hours prior, BUDGET HAD NO IDEA THAT THIS SUV WAS HEADED TOWARD GLENDALE. Nice try and poor customer service. Had I known this before I left Oregon, I would have delayed my drive by a few days and spent the money to fix my own SUV - not spend close to a grand to rent one of theirs including the $200+ in gas to get home. I threw myself on the mercy of the ladies working - to no avail. Nothing but a blank look and "thanks for returning it". No problem, Budget. I'll never rent another vehicle from you again; and in fact found one much cheaper to get me back to Oregon with my dog. And next time you decide to cancel your one-way rental options, you might let people know that ahead of time. And please, come up with a better excuse than "being sold out for months". read more

When i went to drop the car off the employee made me feel like i was interrupting her from eating her yogurt. They have only been open an hour so I'm sure you can plan your food on your breaks. Wish I could give them 0 stars, this company is not honest at all. Paid for a VW Passat in full prior to picking it up, and filled up the car at the gas station in the Living Spaces parking lot before dropping it off. Now I find a 55 dollar charge on my credit card. When inquiring what this was about, they stated it was due to the car not being full of gas when dropped off. The charge was to the tune of $9.80 a gallon, which would have been over 5.5 gallons. I put 13 gallons of gas in the car and it was completely full when dropping off. Called Budget and they will not refund unless I produce a receipt, which I never received from the gas pump. I sent my bank statement to them so we'll see what happens. Going to dispute this charge and contact the BBB about this fraud. Customer service is not helpful at all. Not happy with this company, will never use again and I am going to tell everyone to avoid. Guilty until proven innocent. Shady Shady business practices. read more
