I would not have been able to complete my outdoor projects this year without Budget Lumber- Literally the only place in Southern Oregon with 2x12x14 cedar (for like $4 a foot!) and a great price for 4x4 cedar posts as well. The guy helping me acted like it was a huge deal to get a quote and when we went to get the wood, wouldn't let me check the wood I was purchasing. He stated this is not grade A lumber you get what you get. I understand this but if I am purchasing something, I don't want wood split in half from cracks and rotten wood as seen in the picture. Half the wood I purchased was rotten in the middle and can't be used. I won't be purchasing my fencing materials from them and will not be back for any of my future home remodel needs from them. Had we had a better encounter I would have been a loyal customer for years to come, very unfortunate. I would find another place to get your wood from.

Nowadays, it's hard to find a hardware store that lets you claw out your own nails in bulk, but this place does. The downside of this type of hardware store is that it doesn't let you see or choose your own lumber before you buy it, as evidenced by this photo. The quality of the two pieces of fairly expensive pressure-treated wood that I purchased was so atrocious that I wondered if they had come out of the ground from somebody else's yard: cracked, splintered, missing parts of the wood, discolored, and bowed. Definitely give this place a look for hardware and tools; not so much for the lumber.

The clerk remarked that the model we had bought is a "POS" so even the staff knew it was a substandard mower yet sold it to an 83 year old man. Doing research after the fact, the same mower at Lowes was $400 cheaper and Lowe's stands behind the products and respect customers. When I was informed that it was available for pickup at Customer Service the clerk was unable to find the location of the item. I proceeded to sit back and wait patiently while she looked for the item. About 45 minutes later she finally came back to tell me that she hadn't found it yet! I was appalled that she didn't come back earlier to tell me that the wait would be this long! Eventually she found the item, 'in a place where it wasn't supposed to be' she said.... This happened at about 5 PM yesterday and I observed that customer service was practically abandoned at that time with only one lady who continued to talk on the phone looking away from me 'cuz she knew I'd be an upset customer if she acknowledged me. VERY POOR handling of my situation.. I think I'll try Home Depot next time. Perhaps they'll be better....

I was able to find a pocket knife that met what I needed and was amazed by the variety of items in the store. We spent some time talking to the birds, Ace and Betty. The face Ace knew to say Pretty Bird like Dumb and Dumber was great! We were only in Medford for one night, but so glad we stumbled upon this treasure!
