I ordered the Greektown pizza and asked them to add chicken to it. It was absolutely delicious! I'd order it again! I called in my order so that I wouldn't have to wait and it was ready on time! There was no wait when I went in mid-afternoon. There is a parking lot for the plaza. read more

Buddy's Pizza - Grosse Pointe - Greektown pizza with chicken - Pizza Near Me - Grosse Pointe, Michigan

Mediocre pizza and poor customer service. It seems as if they shrunk the slices and raised the prices. They also have no idea how to be halfway respectful towards a customer. This place used to be hidden gem but i would not recommend it anymore unless there's nothing else to eat. Kinda feel like i wasted my money. read more

C'mon! I say at least 4 stars, especially when you reheat the slices to your specs at home. We should count ourselves lucky in Grosse Pointe to have such easy access to Buddy's pizza. The only thing missing from this carry out only location is the ambiance of the eat-in establishment that started it all downtown or the ability to sit and be served a hot pie at the 13 mile location I like to go with family. read more

Good lunch specials. Was a great alternative to the traditional hospital food as it is on the same campus as St John's Hospital. For being a small location the pizza was just as good and consistent as every buddy's! read more

I thought I would try Buddys again. The pizza I have always loved. Thick fluffy inside crispy outside. Right amount of cheese, toppings, sauce. 3rd tine a huge disaster. Deflated $23.00 non filling overly chewy pizza. 3 strikes you're out, Buddy's. Never again. Just close this location. It's horrible. I had my fist bad experience with this location on 2021. I thought I'd give them a try in 2022. Here we are again in 2023. Same quality. Flat lifeless pizza. They're not even trying. read more

I don't understand the bad reviews here. It is good ol Buddy's Pizza. I ordered it well done and it was well done and tasted great. Tasted like Buddy's and there's no denying what that tastes like! read more

I'm back in town from Texas and was looking forward to some great Detroit style pizza and this place did not have it. The crust was not done correctly almost no sauce and toppings. I'm stunned by the poor quality. The salad we ordered was the only item that was good. 24.00 dollars a pizza you should be getting better. We ordered 3 and were all bad. read more

This was my first time trying Buddy's Pizza. It's not the original so my review isn't accurate. It's a small restaurant part of the mall connected to St. John. Service was great. For the square pizza, I thought it was a little much dough. Although it was soft, the flavor seemed a little lacking. They have specials which is perfect for one person. #2- slice of pizza, side salad, and soda ($7.79). It's enough for one person. Salad options include- Greek, House, Anti-pasta. read more

There is a noticeable negative inconsistency between the Grosse Pointe Buddy's Pizza and the original. We are new to the area and decided to try Buddy's Pizza back in August to see what the big deal was with Buddy's Detroit style pizza. Unfortunately, we tried the Grosse Pointe branch's pizza. While the staff was very friendly, we found the pizza had flavorless, cardboard-tasting crust with little to no char - Jet's pizza is better than this stuff! Quickly decided the fanfare was not well deserved. As we were talking about this negative experience with one of our neighbors, they strongly recommended for us to try the original Buddy's, which we did last weekend, and found it DELICIOUS, restoring our faith in Detroit style pizza! Grosse Pointe Buddy's - please get your quality and consistency in line with the flagship! Such a great location but such mediocre pizza! read more

My fiancé had yet to try Buddy's Pizza ever and tonight was the night. I had the original once before at their main location and already love it. We polished off several sizes this pizza! It is well made from high-quality ingredients and the cheese! Can we talk about the cheese!! The crush is pure parmigiana perfection! It is not greasy at all and I noticed a hint of spice in the tomato sauce but I am a weakling when it comes to heat They put plenty of sauce on as well. I detest a dry pizza slice . It was ready for pick up on time and we used a two dollar coupon off one of the 8 inch large square pizzas found online. I like the style of the box too. Aesthetics matter! We will be recording this for sure again. read more

Buddy's Pizza - Grosse Pointe - BBQ Chicken Pizza and The DPTV. Delicious! - Pizza Near Me - Grosse Pointe, Michigan

Was eager to try some Detroit-style pizza places after moving here, and this one actually delivered on quality. It's easy for the rectangular pies to be overly greasy, but this one was not. Great crust, toppings covering the entire pizza to the edges, and the flavors were spot on. We opted for a Gourmet Veggie and then a 2-topping with pepperoni. Buddy bread was pretty solid, and the greek salad was very fresh and an extremely generous portion. Definitely like the style, and this has been the best Detroit-style pie I've had yet. The non-greasy nature definitely goes a long way to not making you feel terrible after eating some of their pizza. Will definitely try again! read more

So I have been here a few times since my first review. This is probably one of the most inconsistent restaurants I've been to. Sometimes the pizza is great, other times it's barely edible and cardboard-like. Last time I ordered a few ready to go slices, that I'm pretty sure were long past their expiration time. They were hard and dry and should have been tossed long before they made it out of the door. Messed up orders and mistakes I can deal with, but when a restaurant serves food that they know should not be served it is a huge deterrent for me. As I said, there are times where the pizza is amazing, but they definitely have to work in their quality control. read more

I simply adore the original buddy's. This location was a surprise to me when I drove by. Went in and ordered the lunch combo. Cheese slice with buddy bread and a pop. First sign this was not going to be good. No Diet Coke! Lol. They had coke, and Coke Zero. The pizza was cold. It obviously had been sitting out for a while because the box was soaked in grease and it was cold when I ate it in my car after walking out. The bread was good though :-) I'll stick to a sit down restaurant for buddy's from Now on read more

My experience was great, I called about 15 minutes before closing time and they took my order. I was grateful because I was in town visiting and every time I come back home I make it my goal to get a Buddy's pizza. My FAVORITE Pizza!!! Grew up just a few blocks from the original location on 6 mile & Conant. I have eaten at Sterling Heights, Warren, Farmington Hills, Livonia, Auburn Hills, & Grosse Pointe locations but, I must admit that the original is my most bestest favorite! Nostalgic! Try them! Salad, bread, & pastas also great. Bon appetite! xoxo read more

Horrible service. Always mess up my order. Very slow and rude workers. Worst buddy's by far

This place is great because of the pizza but sometimes the execution misses the mark. For example sometimes the pizza is undercooked or wilted, missing something like the signature crust is lacking proper cooking or something. Otherwise this pizza is the bomb. This location is inside a strip mall so it's kind of small and doesn't have beer or wine. Also, where are the little pepperoni's? They were better by far, anybody older than 30 knows what I'm talking about. Better pizza execution is at the original location on Conant in Hamtramck and a better sit down location is on 13 mile and Van Dyke. Those are closer to 5 Stars. read more

Small mainly carry out store. Some tables for sitting but counter serving. Clean store and usual excellent pizza.

Buddy's is my favorite pizza place but I dislike this location. On Friday (9/20/19) I ordered an 8 square super add seasoned grown beef,an antipasti salad with the house dressing and a 4 piece bread stick. The pizza had entirely too much sauce on it,the salad was really wet,the dressing wasn't made properly it just tasted like oil and the bread sticks just tasted like buttery garlic. The wait is always more than what you're told, during this particular visit I had to wait an additional 25 minutes at which point I was given cold food;needless to say, that doesn't make sense. The cashier had a horrible personality and wasn't very friendly. I attempted to call and report the issue and the manager was combative opposed to offering solutions to rectify my complaints. The staff moves extremely slow and they don't put care into the food. If you're looking for the great taste of Buddy's I suggest going to a different location. I returned for hoping them to redeem themselves on 4/3/2020. My pizza was dry and burned. The manager was rude and the staff doesn't seem very capable of being efficient and professional. Again, go to a different location. This location does not live up to the Buddy's standards. read more

This is my first review on yelp so I hope I do this right. I've been to a few of the Buddys locations and this location is BY FAR the best in terms of pizza quality. Customer service is about what you would expect, some days it's great other days it's average but the food quality is enough to overlook the off days. All of the locations I've been to were good but the 7 and Mack location takes the cake . Great cooks/chefs! Very happy customer. PS Greek and Margarita pizza is the way to go! read more

I had a free 4 square pizza for my birthday month. I added pepperoni on it. For a buck extra. It was very good and hit the spot..

I typically always drive to the original location, decided to take a chance and get my favorite pizza delivered. HUGE disappointment, as previously said by other reviews something is wrong with this locations dough, it's dense and tasteless, about half the size of what you would get at the original location. It's honestly a shame to even have Buddy's name on this pizza, take the drive to Conant, they never disappoint! read more

I've been coming to this buddy's for years, especially since they started offering gluten free pizza. I always give them the benefit of a doubt but every time I order a gluten free pizza they mess the order up and make a regular pizza. Im not even exaggerating, sadly. I end having to wait another 20 plus minutes for them to redo it. The pizza itself is great being Buddy's, but I'm done ordering from them at this location. The staff always apologizes, but they've sadly lost a costumer because of the lack of detail. New management needed and or new staff. read more

Buddys usually one of my favorites. Pepperoni pizza was skimpy. Sauce, Pepperoni, cheese all skimpy. This location has inconsistent quality. Sad read more

Some of the friendliest and happy workers. It's always a pleasure swinging in and grabbing a few slices on the go! The pizza brings me back to my childhood. Instead of me traveling all the way to Detroit, Buddy's is right in my backyard. Every time I am in here the counter help always go above and beyond for their customers. The pizza itself is hands down the best! Even the pieces by the slice are extremely fresh and hot. So if you are in the area, swing by and grab a few to go. read more

Love the antioxidant pizza with artichoke hearts and spinach on a multi grain crust. You won't miss the meat this pizza is so delicious.

Quick pickup and pizza is fantastic! Not real dining at this location as really set-up for carry out which is exactly what we wanted. Pizza and bread sticks are the best! read more

First time here; I understand from talking to others that this is a hometown favorite in Detroit, with several locations in the Metro area. I didn't get a whole pie, but rather, two slices, which I wolfed down in a hurry while sitting at one of the small tables in the place. The restaurant is quite convenient to the small Barnes and Noble that is in the same shopping/medical complex. There are other retail stores nearby, and a large fitness center, so I imagine that propinquity helps in terms of walk-in business. Maybe not so much (laughs) with the fitness center users, but certainly in regards to the shoppers at the other places. Coincidentally, this restaurant is also quite small. It's got a counter, and a few small tables, and that's about it. The pizza slices were quite good, although the service was a bit slow. And this was with only one other customer in the place, and she had already gotten her slices, and was eating those at one of the other tables. They did, however, seem to be doing a fair amount of business vis-à-vis pick-up orders, so maybe that was the reason my slices took so long to come out. But, overall, a positive experience, and I'd definitely eat here again. read more

The pizza was great, but there are a lot of great pizzas out there. I'm giving them 4 stars because the staff was so helpful. It was 5 but I took one away because it took a while to get the pie. I had never been to Buddy's before, and I don't eat pork products, so I was stressing about what to order till Xavier suggested the Margherita specialty pizza. That wasn't what my date wanted so he did a half and half (not everyone will do that with specialty pizzas). We couldn't find a coupon, but he offered one of his own that was better anyway. He gave me a good recipe for homemade Gatorade, and a free soda (I'm from the south and they are called SODAS people) for the long wait. This could have been an awkward disaster of a cheap date, but it turned out to be a pleasant cheap date and Xavier had a lot to do with the good experience. Enjoy him while you have him Buddy, try to get him to train someone before he moves on, but don't think you can keep him there. Kids like that usually rise to the top. read more

This Buddy's Pizza is a smaller version that have a few tables inside to sit at but none the less it still a Buddy's Pizzeria and you know Detroit you know Buddy's. When you order there make sure you noticed the coupon that's on the pizza box it's usually $0.75 off or more if you are order a larger Pizza they usually always have slices hot and ready as well as breadsticks and antipasto pasta salad which are absolutely amazing I always stop here when I go to Barnes Noble or Claire's with the kids it's nice to have the convenience of it being right in the neighborhood and it's a consistent flavor and the same pizza every time they always cook it perfect. read more

The manager on duty on Friday, August 10 was amazing. My husband was getting discharged from the hospital, and I wanted to get him something special so I ordered a Hawaiian pizza. Now, we just recently returned from 11 years in Austin Texas so ordering from Buddy's again is new. I forgot that their Hawaiian pizza actually has barbecue sauce on it. So disappointing when we opened the box. My husband wanted to get some red sauce and drove back to Buddy's. He returned to home 25 minutes later with an entirely new pizza. When he went in he explained to the manager what had happened, the manager informed him that nobody leaves unhappy and made us a whole new pie. They didn't have to do that. We are the idiots that ordered the Hawaiian. It was awesome! read more

As much as I love the other Buddy's locations this has to be my new favorite. Why? The prices! You can get individual-ready made slices for 1.99 each. That's like getting a 4 square for $8! And even better are their specials. 2 slices of pizza and a pop for under $5 OR 1 slice, a side salad (which was awesome BTW) and a pop for under $5. And the pieces seem to have more cheese than a traditional Buddy's slice, so if you're a cheese lover this is a place. Seems they don't let the pieces brown enough, but they still have a nice crispy edge and that DELICIOUS signature Buddy's crust. If I didn't live so dang far I'd be here weekly. read more
