First time here on 1-20-26 at 1:48 pm. Was half heartedly greeted by a rotund, bearded, pony tailed man that moved slower than a sloth and had the enthusiasm of a brick. Clearly he hates his job. If you are going to have a counter person, they should be friendly and upbeat not miserable. I ordered a pork sandwich, half a pound of brisket, and a side of coleslaw. Total was $20.94. I paid with $21 cash and the employee had the audacity to ask if I wanted my change. Of course I wanted my change. It's mine. Did he think I didn't deserve it and he did??? The sandwich was just OK. The coleslaw tasted like it was not homemade. And to top it off, the brisket was severely overcooked, making it very tough. A good barbeque restaurant in Oak Ridge There are many restaurant options in the Oak Ridge area in general and along Illinois Avenue specifically. This is one of the few barbeque restaurants in this area. It is a stand-alone building on the south side of the main road, Illinois Avenue, situated between Waffle House and Baskin Robbins. Buddy's has a website and several locations in Tennessee mostly between Knoxville and Chattanooga according to their map but this is the only one I have visited. There is plenty of parking as all 3 of these buildings are in the middle of a large parking lot. This one has a drive through so be careful when crossing the parking lot and entering the site. As with most locations, you order at the counter and they will call your number. I ordered a barbecue sandwich, fries, and tea. The prices were very reasonable. The staff was friendly. The restaurant was clean. The food came out quickly and was good. The french fries were not to my liking but the sandwich, sauce, and iced tea were excellent. I would recommend this location to anyone wanting a good meal or tea in the Oak Ridge area. Enjoy. read more

Ok fast food bbq place. Counter service by local high school girls. Friendly but not experienced in customer service. Ordered the brisket combo dinner. Food was quite mixed. Chicken was good. The ribs were very tasty and the highlight. Brisket unfortunately was meh, it was the consistency, appearance and flavor of sliced roast beef. Hush puppies were pretty good as was the baked beans. I have given this place opportunity after opportunity. Every single time I am blown away at the absolute horrendous customer service. And this review is just about the online orders, this doesn't even touch the in person orders that somehow can't be correct. I have done the online ordering 4 times. All 4 times the order was not ready. All 4 times the order was wrong. All 4 times the management has been unapologetic and demonstrated absolute disregard that we were so unhappy with our purchase. I will never give this restaurant another chance. So my take away from this, if you want horrible customer service, orders that are incorrect, management that are awful at customer satisfaction, and orders that are not every ready on time, then this is your spot. If you want good customer service, correct and on time orders, you need to find somewhere else. read more

My wife went to Buddy's last night and brought it home. I ordered ribs and potatoe salad and my wife ordered pulled pork. My ribs was burned and very dry. And the pulled pork was dry like it was a few days old. The best part was the potatoe salad and hush puppy's. It's not the first time that this has happened. I probably won't be buying from this one anymore. I will try another Buddy's in Knoxville but not this one in Oak Ridge. read more

This was the worst BBQ I've ever had. Food was cold and lacked flavor. Wings were rubbery, green beans were salty. BBQ sauce was odd tasting. Only positive was low prices and food was done quickly. Do not recommend, waste of money. read more

Chicken, wings and pork are always good.If I had one complaint it is the very loud beeping from I guess the fryer timer. This is real BBQ, but it is fast because they BBQ their stuff all day long so it is ready when you want it. I had the pulled pork (chopped) and the pulled pork straight off of the roast. Both were very delicious, with the chopped pork being easier to eat in a sandwich (or with a fork), but just a bit dryer than the pork off of the roast. I also had the pork ribs, which were every bit as tasty as any other BBQ I have had. The sauce is tangy and pretty good (I am not a sauce connosiour, so I hesitate to judge). The coleslaw was great, and the hushpuppies were crispy and fresh. The food was also very affordable, and definitely made me want to go back. The service is mostly at the counter where you order your food, and my experience was great. I hope you go! I know they also prepare BBQ for parties or to take out in large quantities, but I haven't tried that yet. read more
