Prepared some of it by throwing it in a microwave or fryer then went back to the table. We heard the timer go off 3 times before she got back up to get the remainder of our order. The bbq was dry. The Nashville chicken sandwich was a fried square of processed chicken with a slice of cold American cheese on top in a greasy bun. French fries were totally unseasoned and stuck together in a pile. Even the sweat tea was bad. Bathrooms were dirty and someone was too lazy to put the toilet paper and paper towel rolls in the dispensers. I'm so glad I stopped in for a casual lunch at the Farragut location. Upon entering, the place appeared clean and I was pleasantly greeted by two lovely ladies behind the counter. A large menu board was displayed with all their offerings. Decisions, decisions....as I worked my way through the line to place an order, I noticed the "deal of the day" being advertised for $9.99, I thought to myself, I've hit the lunch lottery! The meal included a pulled pork sandwich, two sides, and a BIG yellow cup (I chose cabbage slaw and potato casserole as my sides). I found a nice corner table to enjoy my lunch, which was brought out by the smiling young lady running the register. The real shocker for me was, they offer UNLIMITED soft serve ice cream cones!!!You can't beat this deal anywhere in Farragut. The bread was fresh, the pork was tender and seasoned. The slaw was a little too sweet for my liking and potato casserole was not what I expected. Overall, the meal and customer service experience was exceptional, so much so, that I would return for another meal when I'm in the area. read more

The staff is great as usual. They are always very kind and attentive. The restaurant is very clean. The brisket, well it needs some work as it was wrapped in plastic wrap which made the meat tasted strongly of it, not even the BBQ sauce could cover that strong plastic wrap taste, nasty, It truly is not as good as it used to be, very stringy and for the price, it's really not a value anymore if one can not eat it. With it being dead inside I understand but this is what I observed: Ice cream machine not in service bbq sauce was not out and when I asked for some they put one in the "warmer" and it was ice cold. Suggestion: have some in the little containers ready to go to give to customers upon request. Soda machine was out of most of the drinks Deal of the day was brisket and pork, they were out of brisket. Customer service was ok. Forgot a few items, had to ask for them. My first visit here was quite impressive. My wife and I walked in, studied their menu board, then got into a queue that moved quickly. We ordered from one of two employees that were staffing the restaurant. They promptly put the order to gather, and within minutes we were at our (self-selected) table. The prices are phenomenal! It was $10 for a pulled pork sandwich with two sides and a large (self serve) cup. AND, they offer complimentary small (self serve) ice cream cones, as much as you want. You can bring the plastic drink cup back for $1 refills. Speaking of $1, the have one dollar bottled beer Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 2pm to 5pm. We had the pulled pork with pickles and added their original BBQ sauce, the Cole slaw and the potato casserole. All the food was as good as any BBQ place I've been to in Knoxville. When you compare the value, it exceeds expectations. The restaurant theme is Country. The restrooms are private, but separated by gender. You bus your own table. We're coming back! read more

Giving 2 stars is generous. Just ordered a half rack to go. Half of which were burnt and inedible (well, by humans anyway). Service was good and the staff were friendly. First off: 100 on the health score on the wall as of December 2016. That's awesome and let me take a deep breath and relax about my food! I enjoyed the sauces that came with the meal I got; so whether you are a sugary sauce type or a bitter type they have the spectrum that covers your palette. The meat was good quality and how could you argue with free ice cream?! Out of all the BBQ I've had in the US I'll give this joint a 4/5. If you're on this end of town do give it a try! read more

Ordered last night, and they forgot an item, and we didn't notice until we got home 20 minutes away. I called, and no one there knew how to process a refund, so they told me I could come in and get the missing item for free. I accepted that since I work nearby and figured it'd be my lunch. I'm sitting outside right now at 11:52 and they should be opened according to Google, Apple Maps, their website, and even the sign on the door. They're closed. I called, and someone actually picked up. I asked if they were open, and they said, "we're closed until 4:00 today." I do not recommend this place! My wife and I stopped there for lunch today. I ordered a brisket Mac bowl and a turkey Mac bowl. It came out ok. My wife ordered a kielbasa sandwich with no cheese and fries. She specifically ordered it with no cheese because she can NOT eat cheese! The young man that took the order recommended the westerner because it was like a Kiel hot dog. My wife said ok but no cheese. When we got down the road and opened our order they did not put our fries in the bag at all and they put cheese all over my wife's sandwich. We immediately called when my wife told the young man what happened he offered to give her a free fry and a free drink. Well that's bad since we had paid for the fry and never received it. It was his mistake about the sandwich but he would not replace it. So ,they cheated us out of our fries and my wife's sandwich! I would not recommend them at all! When we got our order, several things were not delivered (extra Texas toast, slaw topping for loaded baked potato and extra sauce. When I got order, I called to let restaurant know. They offered $5 off next order. I said this was not okay. They did offer to bring things to us. I was happy about this and thought this is great service. However, when the owner, manager or employee delivered items, I met on porch to say thank you ( because I thought it was great customer service to deliver it). I'm not sure if this is the location. I ordered through a delivery site. Anyways I got half pound of pulled pork, brisket and their ribs. Sides too. This is by far the best and most like real bbq you can hope to find in the area. I got all the standard flavored stuff. The pork was great and didn't feel super greasy like other places. The brisket is what I noticed the most, cut well and taste great. I've tried brisket from the other chains or places that sell it and this is the only one that looks and taste like what brisket should. The ribs were in good shape and not tough. The sides are tasty but not a set of options you need. Flavor is there and that's fine. If I had to choose, I'd go with the mac n cheese and coleslaw. I don't remember choosing a sauce but it came with one. The flavor was a little unique but it mostly tasted like a store kind with a slight difference. It reminded me of bullseye bbq sauce. Which isn't great imo. The rolls aren't great imo, shape doesn't help is the main reason. A yeast roll would be better way to go. I'm glad I tried this place. read more

I have honestly never been so disappointed in a restaurant. The meal was $30, and the order consisted of 1/4 lb f pulled pork, 6 ribs, 2 caesar salads, loaded potato casserole, and was supposed to have 5 dinner rolls in total (paid for 3 extra). - The ribs were inedible. There were more bones and cartridge per bite than actual meat. We had to spit out pellets constantly. - After paying extra for 3 extra rolls in addition to the 2 that were supposed to come with it, we received one tiny roll. -The pulled pork was not honestly not bad, and pretty standard for anywhere, but definitely nothing to write home about. - Ordered 2 caesar salads and only received one. - I ordered curbside, and the woman who brought my food out did not say a single word, even in response to my talking. Dickey's. Texans already know what to expect. Non-Texans, listen up. Dickey's is a barbecue chain out of Texas specializing in Texas style BBQ. For those who don't know, this means beef brisket, as well as different types of sausage, and generally a greater variety of sides than the standard coleslaw beans and potato salad available at Tennessee BBQ restaurants. I did not try the pulled pork. That's a Tennessee specialty, and there are plenty of places in the Knoxville area that knock that one out of the park. I came here for the brisket. Here is the low down. If you are in Texas, Dickey's is nothing to write home about. It is a chain. Similar to how to Chuy's is nothing special in Texas. If you are outside of Texas, especially if you are a Texas expat, OMG Dickey's! Brisket! There is no one else doing brisket Texas style in the Knoxville area, so this is your only option. The brisket was pretty decent. No, we're not in Texas, no, it's not Franklins. Ok. But it's pretty good for Tennessee. Especially good for East Tennessee. The original sauce was my favorite, we tried all three, the spicy wasn't that spicy. I didn't care for the sweet sauce, although Texas sauces tend to be a bit thicker and sweeter, the sweet sauce tasted like an ice cream topping to me - very strange. We enjoyed the green beans and okra, again, not the best green beans or okra I have ever had in my entire life, this is a chain restaurant here. But they were pretty good, and it was just nice to have a BBQ place that actually offers those options as side. Overall, anytime I am homesick, I will be hitting up here or Chuy's. I highly recommend it to anyone who has never tried Texas style barbecue and is curious. But obviously, if you're going to Texas soon, hold out for the really good stuff. read more

They have a bbq sauce station, so you can try their three variations and choose your favorite. You can't not love their complimentary soft serve ice cream when your done with your meal! I had the worst customer experience I have ever had at this location. I placed an online order and my wife picked it up. It started with the staff forgetting to include 4 of the fried okra sides that were part of our order. To their credit, they did try to call me to let me know it was missing, but I didn't have my phone on me. Once my wife got home and we realized what happened, I called back to try to find resolution. The first guy I talked to tried to work with me on this matter and we settled on a refund of the sides since it is a 15 minute drive to their store. However, then we opened our entree plates to realize that 2 of them had the wrong meats. I call back but the same guy, says they are busy and will have a manager call me later. We decide to eat what food we have anyway because we have hungry guest. Then the manager calls.... he proceeds to tell me how there is no way the entrees could be wrong because he check them personally. He was suggesting I was lying to him and he could never make a mistake. At some point early in the conversation I called him 'man', which is what just what I say when I refer to a male when I can't remember their name. He absolutely lost it and started going off on me about how I should be calling him sir and how disrespectful I am. I didn't use any vulgarities nor was I even trying to be offensive. He continued to tell me off for the next 5 minutes and really offered little in the way of concessions for messing up my order on multiple accounts. No manager should ever act this way. The food is over priced and mediocre at best and the service is absolutely HORRIBLE!!! Don't waste your time or money at this place. read more

I have to take this moment to compliment Dickey's BBQ* on Hardin Valley Road. I am a 65-year old Son of the South, therefore I know that we "have" to eat Pork BBQ. However, Dickey's is Texas BBQ, so it is made from beef. My wife and I enjoyed the most wonderful meal from there today and, if I can convince her, I would go back for dinner tonight. Let not your heart be troubled as they offer the traditional local BBQ sauces to pour over the meat. When we lived in South Carolina for a while, I became a fan of the mustard-vinegar BBQ sauce that is native to the Carolinas. For the first time in over 20 years, I was able to savor Carolina BBQ Sauce. Dickey's is a chain of stores that has been around since 1941 and it is easy to tell that the grill masters are well-versed in their training. I had to drive almost 2-hours to pick something up at Best Buy & happened to spot the Dickeys next door. We had never heard of it (& have been SO disappointed with the BBQ here in TN!) but I told hubby to go order us something to take home & I am SO glad I did! The ribs were smokey, succulent, fall-off-the-bone perfection & (as a retired chef, myself) the sauce was delicious & the creamed spinach (which nobody else offers) was superb. They best chain BBQ place in that it embodies everything the down to earth places do. Excellent food and atmosphere. The Beef Brisket and ribs are some of the most authentic tasting I've had. The BBQ sauces are made in the standard three flavors, original, sweet, and spicy. The spicy which is what I get is a great add on to any dish. Just wish the side dishes where spiced better (green beans and jalapeño beans are just okay) Highly recommend you go for the daily deals and don't forget the free ice-cream on your way out. read more
