The art in the park is amazing. It is an artists' playland and includes murals, sculptures, and interactive pieces. Some pieces you will find there include Garden Boats by Jennifer Torres, The Noodle by Fletcher Cox, Mississippi Alligator by Martha Ferris, and Mississippi Quartet by Ed McGowin.
The good thing about this place is that it is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, for extended hours, even when the museum is closed. You can hang out there and it appears to not get much traffic outside of special events, so it has a peacefulness to it.
I recommend checking this place out if you happen to be in the downtown Jackson area. It is very nice and well-constructed. You can easily spend a couple of hours here and be fully engaged. Ohhh, and its free. You can't beat that.
