Le Fleur's Bluff State Park - Site 4 - Parks Near Me - Jackson, Mississippi

I want to call this an interactive playground because the children, including my niece and nephew, were all playing with each other and entertained by the equipment. I believe the sole purpose of parks like this is to improve a child's socialization skills. As you can see from the pictures, the equipment wasn't your regular sliding board, seesaw, or swing set. The colors and the shapes of these items are to capture the child's eyes and lead to interaction. I don't know if I got any pictures, but musical instruments were place in the play area for the free spirit child. Also, there is a child museum on the grounds, which we didn't get a chance to visit, but the children had fun, and that was the goal. read more

The park is beautiful. We wanted to hike the nature trail, but it was flooded. We were stopped about 5 minutes in. It would have been helpful for the park ranger at the gate to let us know so we could have made the decision to go in or not. Hopefully, I will be able to do the hike next time I am in Jackson. read more

Honestly one of the better maintained trails in the state of Mississippi that I have visited so far. A big bummer for me was the fact that a portion of the trail is Not open to pets. Many of the trails in visit of Mississippi so far I have mostly been overgrown or were very lackluster. We didn't have time, this was just an overnight stop for us but it looks like there's enough to stay a couple of days near here. This is a quiet natural campground on the banks of a lake/swamp area. We had a wonderful overnight stay at Le Fleur's Bluff. We were in our RV, with two small children, and had plenty of space to get comfortable. The RV sites all waterfront, making for a beautiful setting. Bathrooms were fine, water pressure in the shower surprisingly good. Had a blast riding our bikes through the park and just enjoying the natural beauty. read more

Le Fleur's Bluff State Park - Fishing at Le Fleur state park - Parks Near Me - Jackson, Mississippi

This was a love-hate place. I loved it and my wife hated it. We were on our way back to Dallas from a Florida trip. We found this place and thought it would be fun for a night. It turns out we had to hunker down for two night to avoid a storm on the road. So we were here for a day and a half waiting out the storm. Very dreary and raining the entire time. I think this would be a great spot in better weather. We were camped right on the lake and it looked like it would be fun to fish. I have a very large 5th wheel so we reserved and paid in advance for site #1 because it easily accommodates larger rigs. We arrived at 3 PM and the guy who was in the spot had not left when he was supposed to. We ended up in site 15 which was tougher to back into but it worked out. Again, I loved it but my wife said it reminded her of the movie Deliverance. The authorities were looked for an escaped prisoner in the general area so that added to the drama. read more

To be honest, I expected a lot more mosquitoes. Glad I was wrong about that. This is a peaceful park. Tons of turtles on the water. Herons too. Bathrooms are barely acceptable. There is no privacy for the showers either. read more

If you're road tripping and need a place to stop, this is not the place. The manager here (5'2" curly blonde hair shoulder length) is so rude. There was no one at the gate during their operation hours and someone kindly helped us. We called multiple times to get help and no one could help us so we thought waiting until morning would be best and we can stop by during morning hours (just as we'd done at multiple state parks across the country). The manager as mentioned above proceeded to imply we were low life's with no money to stay and definitely not welcomed at her campground which mind you is only $35. She continued to harass us until making a member of our party cry. Then as we're driving to the gate to pay (you cannot leave without paying) she made sure to have one person in front of us and fallowed closely behind as if we were gonna drive full speed with our camper attached and bust the gate?!? lol okay lady.. If you are not from Mississippi she will treat you like trash. Better to stay at a different park. Staff here do not know how to be kind. They need to hire staff that doesn't play favoritism and treats travelers kindly. It's a beautiful place but sad that the management is corrupt read more

Stayed overnight at Le Fleurs Bluff State Park Campground site #14, but wish we could stay a bit longer. For around $23/night electricity/water, the natural park beauty and price cannot be beat! Camp sites are in the middle of the large cypress pond, with beautiful and private view from our trailer window during sunset. Bathroom construction is typically on stilts, with little privacy in showers due to no door or hooks. Washer & dryer also on the second floor. Dump station is at the exit. Road in/out is mostly gravel and little muddy at time, really expect at least paved road into the campground for it smacks right in the middle of the Jackson, Mississippi. Due to it location, supplies run or trailer repair/upgrade is pretty easy. WiFi is non-existence, but LTE is decent. Will came back again if we pass this way again. read more

Decent open space to let the kids play when it's not packed with other kids. The sail offers needed shade for the hot Mississippi summers. Lots of play areas, green space and a disc golf course. Located adjacent to The Children's Museum and the Natural Science Museum, great for an afternoon full of fun, learning, a picnic and some play time. PS - the map is way off. My husband and I just discovered this place after being in Mississippi for years. It's great! We park our car and walk in for $.50. We live the trails. They are really long and lead to cool places. Nobody knows about this place! Check it out! There are also areas for picnics and fishing. read more
