I ordered the dinner special; sirloin steak. The neat was tough and coated with the mushy texture that meat tenderizer creates. The meat was tough and needed a lot of chewing. Absolutely the worst sirloin steak I have tried to eat in my 85 years on earth which includes 30 years in the US Navy! However, the wait person offered a take-home box for the unfinished meat. I declined said that I did no want to eat anymore meat, as it was too tough. When she presented the check (for the four of us), she said the she removed the steak from the bill. Nice gesture! Been awhile since dining at this establishment. It was a diner for a small group. I ordered a sirloin and replied to the question "How would you like that cooked?" with rare please. The server responded medium well it is. To which I repeated my preference as rare please. They apologized with some explanation of fatigue or the like. I was served a piece of meat medium well. At no point was I asked if my meal was to my satisfaction nor was there any question as to anything else was desired. There was a time when folks in food service took pride in their work. read more

Came here with the family for the 3-course Early Bird Dinner for $29. It's everyday until 5:30pm. There were 9 of us and we were seated right away at 5ish-pm. For my starter, I chose the crispy calamari. They came out in strips and were pretty tasty. For my main, I chose the double ranch london broil - medium rare. This was delicious. And for my dessert, I got the burnt cream. It was basically a heavier version of crème brûlée that I'm was used to but still really good. They have a pretty good kid's menu too but I cant find it on the web. Kid's can have steak and fries for a pretty good price. The servers were very friendly and accommodating for our big group. Thanks, we will be back! The only thing I didn't like the about place was that the ambience was kind of dark. read more

Reservations were easy, restaurant was clean, wait staff was friendly, food was mediocre. Bread was good, New York steak was grisly, undercooked, and cold; tenderloin was good. Wedge salad was okay, but mine was missing the cheese crumbles. I would've also preferred bacon bits to a slice of bacon as well. Potatoes were good . At over $100 per person, I guess I expected more. We will try again, however. Our previous visits were much better. read more

On another field trip - found this place using a Yelp search and it was fine. The room was comfortable, the service was really good. The bar delivered on our drink order and they had one of our favorite wines on their list. Skipped starters and salad and went straight to the protein. Not bad choices but the lamb wasn't medium rare/ pink in the center as ordered, ribeye was fine but my chicken fried steak wasn't great. I didn't send it back because I was an idiot to order it in that setting - it's roadhouse diner food and this place isn't - the meat was thin and the coating fell off immediately, the gravy was ok, the mashed potatoes had been on the plate for awhile and while tasty weren't fluffy- did ok on the asparagus side. So, over all a good restaurant choice for the area, will probably go back when we are next in town. The menu has lots of choices, and I will be more careful when I order. I mean, slap to head, chicken fried steak, what was I (not) thinking. Probably should have gone for a big salad and a starter. Loved the service and sitting at a table next to the window. So, sure, lots to like with a few complaints unfortunately they centered on the kitchen. read more

Atmosphere and ambiance was the greatest thing about this place. I ordered a porterhouse rare and it was past medium, they offered to remake but it has already taken a considerable amount of time to get it which is understandable since it's a large steak. Vegetables and potatoes were bland. Overall just a bad experience. Best to go elsewhere for the price. read more

Atmosphere and service were good. Great location. Beer and wine selection so,so- though did find a solid albeit expensive Malbec... Have never in my life been served a loin lamb chop in a restaurant... Have never in my life been served 2- lamb chops in a restaurant for $36... Having said that- the two tiny loin chops were properly cooked and served with fresh and properly cooked string beans. (The pepper jelly was also very good). Budd's however does not match-up with several other restaurants in the area in value. read more

We were a party of 6, we had good service. We had a variety of dinner orders, filets, trout, seafood, desserts. Everything was delicious.

It has been a long while since we last ate at Budd's and this time, it was a great experience! The service was fabulous and the food was very good. We also had a wondwrful view od the river and a very nice atmosphere for dining. We all agree that it would definitely be worth coming back. Delicious food, fabulous staff and servers and wonderful river views. We were looking for a nice place on the water for dinner and Budd's Broiler was the perfect spot. The shrimp Louis salad was so fresh and light and exactly how I would make one with a generous helping of tiny pink salad shrimp and hard boiled egg. We also ordered some $10 plates from the Happy Hour menu. The warm brie - Wow! So tasty and sweet with the honey sauce on top. The beef bites were tender and seasoned well too. Everything we tasted was really good and paired well with a sparkling wine or a huckleberry cocktail. Outside on the patio is nice, but we encountered a couple of spiders and webs coming off the chairs or umbrellas. The compromise of sitting at a nice outdoor table! The ambience is dimly lit, which can be romantic. If you want to see your food, bring your flashlight. The service was poor, I saw our server twice and it was dead slow. They made sure to lavish attention on other diners while my gf and I waited for service. The other staff was remarkably neutral bordering on unfriendly. The food was good, a saving grace. But due to the poor service we choose to leave sooner rather than later. The Tri-cities has so few nice dining establishments, and unfortunately this doesn't rank as one. read more

We came here a few times this year, none of them were very busy times either and they were good. We always had the cheaper food items under the Early Bird menu. We took the risk on my birthday and decided to have my dinner here rather wait till we get to big city for a real meal. It was busy and the waitresses were busy like in Dennys at rush hour. I've always felt a more expensive steakhouse's should offer a more leisure meal and a Wait Staff that is pleasant and can entertain a little. When I was a teen I was a Waiters Busboy in a nice place like this. Busboys were assigned waiters as bosses. The waiters were all from Middle East and each one had a side talent. Each meal had some sort of table side show. A magic trick or jokes were most popular. My waiter had a story with a fire show and alcohols. Certain menu items were prepped at table side and customers knew this when they were ordered. Waiters were as much part of your dinner as the meal was. Plus the great wait staff could easily out perform some dishes, so kitchen mistakes were mostly overlooked by the customers. Yet Waiters were very diligent at making sure cooks properly presented plates and they were correct. In the 70's my waiter would give me $100-$200 dollars on busy nights. This is how I grew up and I have seen this service before but nowhere here in the Tri. I wasn't expecting that tonight of course. I'm just explaining where the yard stick use to be in regard to specialty restaurants. I didn't expect that service tonight either. Our waitress admitted she would do bad before ordering because she just got hired. We had to explain our drink order as it was printed on the menu, she just didn't get it. We didn't order the more expensive items as planned due to her shabby visual appearance and lack of confidence of her skill. Yet she had plenty of tables all getting that special Denny's fast food resturant service. Bread not coming out till after our appetizer and only after and after 3-4 asks, "oh, please, thank you's", plates being stacked on our table by the sever and why not? Because it's a fancy Dennys with a higher price and fewer menu items. How did we get here? We have got to be crazy to be doing this! Anyway.... Bread was used to wash down ill prepared food, main dishes were under and over cooked, drinks full of more ice than drink finally at home my wife got sick after her meal. Happy Birthday Fatboy! Ugh Fancy restaurants still aren't offered here in the Tri. It's between you and the cook, or the host or the bus boy. None at your control but other staff is who the wait staff blames when something goes wrong. Wait staff needs to manage these things not be part of them because they are the only voice a customer has. A bad waitstaff can't or won't challenge cooks for bad plates. Management has to train wait staff how and what errors cooks and staff can make. This specialty restaurant should only have qualified, high-quality wait staff. It should be a place only the best in town want to come to serve and be able to raise a family comfortably on their pay. Customers need an advocate if the wait staff can't be trusted then just close the doors. This was the whole point of Tipping! The table basically hires the wait staff to make sure the meal comes out as ordered and is a pleasant experience, that's it. If the meal is great pay is good and so fourth. Having a wait staff with a personality and a side show seems to have gone out with yesteryear for sure. You can get better food and service for a cheaper price elsewhere in this town. Some places in town have a wait staff to serve you and take responsibility for what is served. Gave it a two star due to past meals and staff being good. This trip, no way. read more

Loved the place, had business dinner here / from hostess who was so pleasant, to Shantyl, our waitress. Good food and remarkable service, plus good view of the Columbia river from the patio! Shared a calamari plate ($12.50) and for my main course had a ribeye steak, an excellent choice - well prepared, with a delicious baked potato (priced appropriately at $59). I got the Snake River Farms Steak Salad and it was to die for!!! Literally the best salad I've ever had. I also had their tomato basil soup and it was absolutely delicious. Service was great as well, I came for my birthday (on a Monday night around 5:30pm) and they were so sweet. For dessert, I can't remember the name but it was like a chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream and raspberry syrup. It was so delicious I highly recommend both! read more

My son wouldn't complain but I will. We came tonight with a reservation. It was my daughter in law's birthday. Me, not being used to the higher end restaurants, was expecting great things. No one came to our table for a good 20 minutes. Then, a woman came to apologize and assured us the waited would be coming. She offered us an appetizer at no cost and though we said we didn't need it, she brought it nevertheless. About 40 Minutes in, the waiter final brought my son's beer.....about 15 minutes after all the other drinks were served. The dinner was decent enough and we bought the 145.00 prime rib amongst other items totaling a large bill ......WHICH included the 18.00 appetizer we didn't ask for but was given because of the long wait. Terrible service. And, a shame that such a trendy place could give such sub par service. You lost a good customer. read more

Wanted to share my experience because it was a good one! Came in 20 mins before they were closing and made sure I could order some food- despite them being out of some things I was able to get their steak appetizer and it did not disappoint. I enjoyed a glass of wine too but the steak was so good that I wanted to come back the next day for it again- didn't get to but will definitely stop in when I am in the area! One of the bartenders was not very happy that I sat there to order before closing- she wasn't very nice but that is OK because everyone else was. read more

Ate at Budd's for brunch January 7th, 2024 for my son's birthday. Had the chicken fried steak and my son had the sirloin steak and eggs. Both meals were excellent and love the fact they use Snake River Farms meat. I don't remember the servers name but he provided excellent service. The atmosphere was nice overlooking the river. I was so excited to have halibut. It was a thin, small piece, that was swimming in a tepid sauce.($48.) and surrounded by a huge blob of mashed potatoes.. The menu indicated it came with pistachio rice pilaf. Even the broccoli was so hard, I couldn't cut it with a knife. I love crisp veggies. But, come on. Worst meal, I've eaten since arriving in TC. The calamari was amazing at least. Service was extremely slow, waiter was nice enough but spent more time talking with the other tables then anything else. Order the wagyu steak, and while the flavor was there, it was the chewiest damned piece of meat, I really question whether this was actually Wagyu. read more
