We were looking to go to a Thai place for dinner but our original spot was randomly closed. We wandered a bit further down Swan Street and spotted Buddha's Banquet.
We dropped in on a Sunday evening (around 7:30pm). Most people were getting takeout to go. The inside is small and cramped with about 5 tables (12 seats) to sit at. Order at the counter when you're ready.
The menu is pretty standard with entrees, soups, salad, curries, stir fries, seafood, noodles, rice, vegetarian and drinks. There's a cheap lunch specials menu on one of their chalkboards inside.
- Pad see ew with pork (#59) ($11.90 AUD) - stir fried flat rice noodle with egg, veggies and sweet soy sauce. Price is cheap but it's a small portion. Noodles were good but the vegetables and pork were very average.
- Thai fried rice with chicken (#61) ($10.90 AUD) - good wok hei to the rice but not much going on to distinguish it from being Thai fried rice. Chicken was bland. Again, pretty small portion.
Maybe it was the items we ordered but the dishes at BD was pretty standard. A bit on the slow side to get our food too. read more
