Going by the reviews of this Kao, I expected some pretty good things, but ultimately I'm sorry I found the experience rather awkward and a waste of kilojoules and time.
Two friends and I ordered the Chicken Spring Rolls as a starter (4 pieces), the Green Curry with Prawns, Massaman Curry with Beef and Red Curry with Chicken all to share. The food was all excellent, I can't fault any of it. Fresh, fragrant, perfect portions and absolutely delicious. Perhaps slightly lacking in presentation, but let's be honest, you get what you pay for.
So why am I annoyed?
The mains came out separately. Prior to the entree...Five minutes after we ordered.
The service was killing us with kindness. We are asked five times while still eating if we needed plates cleared- eventually we gave in and agreed. Let's be clear, this was just after they had open and there was only one other table there so they were not exactly getting rid of. Plus they kept bringing us bottles of water, which was much appreciated.
When we finally did agree to have plates cleared, the waitress started stacking and mixing the left over curries together in one bowl, in a most nauseating scene for people full of curry. It was obscene man.
The atmosphere is cold and lifeless. The music makes no sense and the toilet is on some sort of strange angle it makes you feel like you were drugged at the table.
We paid $75 for the meal plus 2 drinks, great price, great food, creepy place. read more
