I don't understand what the other reviewers found wrong with this place. The ambience was very modern and interesting. It was extremely quiet for a Saturday night. We ate on the Hibachi side of the restaurant and the chef was extremely friendly and was very entertaining. The cooking and eating areas were cleaned well. My steak was cooked medium rare just as I had requested and the veggies and fried rice were very good. Only gripe I have is that they charge extra for fried rice. There needs to be an option for less than one star because this place is absolutely HORRID. The food is so mediocre, I've had better frozen dinners from the supermarket. It was bland and not cooked well. And one of our chicken orders wasn't even fully cooked through! Uhm...NOT ok. I'm legit shocked that nobody in our party got food poisoning. The staff kept pushing these special (expensive) sodas on the kids even though we made it clear we didn't want them. They have the worst, rudest, most inattentive staff ever. I wish I had read all of the bad reviews (and there are a LOT of them!) before coming here. So bottom line? Went there with my husband for dinner. It was the WORST SERVICE we've ever had, and it WAS NOT busy at all. Our waitress came to the table after we sat down for 3 minutes and asked if we're ready to order, no smile, didn't say hi, didn't even look at us, and she acted like she was in a rush. Finally, we ordered the combination of dumplings as an appetizer, Fantastic Rolls, General's Tso, and Sesame Chicken. The food was good except those dumplings, they were too mushy! The waitress walked past by many times, but we didn't get our glasses filled, not even once! And at that time, she was taking care of 2 tables only! Also, there was one checked on us if we're doing okay. We were not okay at all! To that waitress, do yourself a favor, if you don't want to serve anybody, just quit this job and go do something else. My family comes here all the time and loves it. The hibachi tables are always busy and have a short wait. The chefs are super friendly and entertain the kids. They have two dining rooms though, so you can sit in the regular dining cook and order hibachi still. The food is prepared very well. They also have very fresh sushi and delicious hot entrees. Hello, I have to repost, because I was here yesterday for a birthday lunch with a friend, and I have to say I had a much better time. The food was excellent! We each had the Hibachi Lunch Special. I had the Hibachi Shrimp & My friend had the Hibachi Steak. It was a great price( $12.95) for all that you got....Clear soup (very flavorful), Salad w/ a very yummy dressing, rice, veggies, and noodles along with the entree. The service was very attentive and quick, and I will definitely be back! I only wish that I lived closer so that I could order in, but it's a Great place to know about for lunch. There are many lunch specials to choose from. I missed seeing the buddha when I was here last. A beautiful statue next to the koi fountain as you are seated to the right. I must say, this time I really took in the ambiance as you walk from the front door in- very well done and also simplistic. A very tranquil setting. We have been coming here since it opened. My husband has complained about the service but the kids ( no longer kids 21, 19, & 13) have always loved it. I have to finally say we will NEVER be back. Worst service anywhere. Rushed out. I actually said to the waitress when she asked if "we still want a dessert menu" on my daughters birthday dinner, unless ur rushing us to leave, yes! Wow - not sure who gives this place a good review - they must LOVE deli buffets because the quality was about the same. The good reviews are probably from folks that work at the place.... Ordered the shrimp fried rice and it was HORRIBLE. 4 pieces of shrimp AAAAND.....rice. How about carrots, onions, bean sprouts, beaten EGG, etc?!?! Literally 4 pieces of shrimp and bland rice?!?!? Are you kidding me? Also ordered Spring roles and they ABSOLUTELY seemed like from the frozen food section - mushy AND EMPTY on the inside?!?! Also ordered General Tso's chicken - which I will admit was not bad..... And this was a take out order - which you would think would require minimal "service". Showed up to pick it up and the fellow behind the counter was sitting and on texting on his phone and he took 20 seconds (long time when you're just standing there) to finish typing what he was doing before saying Hi.... Then provided me the takeout order and when I got home NOTHING! You're supposed to include Soy sauce, duck sauce maybe a fortune cookie or two....nothing! The food was alright, my waitress looked like she hated her job. Never checked on my table. once I was done with my dinner she removed our plates and came back with our bill. Didn't even ask if we were done or if we wanted dessert! (Which I did, that was the main reason I went in the first place) once she gave us the bill, I waited more than 10 mins for her to come back to ask for the dessert menu, still didn't come back to us! Beautiful interior with really interesting Buddha tiles and other unique design elements. Service was quick but we went early the kids so it wasn't that busy. Ok so the hibachi dinner was really expensive!! It does not include dessert. And the clear soup was really just salt water with some thin slivers of mushroom. They charge an extra $3 if you want fried rice instead of white rice. Everything was super super salty so be warned! Chef was mediocre, the usual onion volcano and throwing food into your mouth. Twirled around his spatula and put out the fire with a peeing plastic doll, which for our table he had forgotten to prefill with water. I felt embarrassed for him. They really need to work on their chef skills and get some better jokes to really do justice to the decor and justify their prices. Mediocre... at best. Their idea of "seasoning" food is drenching it in teriyaki and soy sauce. Literally, the only seasonings the chef used we're saki, soy sauce, and teriyaki. All the seafood was over cooked. I got a coke, and it was that gross generic soda that leaves a bad aftertaste in your mouth. Went to celebrate my son's birthday and they were so quick to serve and almost rush us and the place was empty. Chef didn't understand English so when I ordered my filet mignon medium rare, he said "ok medium well, ok medium well " I had to keep repeating myself. Then while he was cooking my scallops I asked him to take them off because he was killing them also. Worst hibachi meal ever. Mediocre Asian "hibachi" and high prices - a combination to which I'd say SKIP!

This is a busy and popular restaurant although the reasons are not quite clear. The sushi and sashimi are good but not great. Avoid the special rolls, which are smothered in sauce that overwhelms the fish. Hot dishes rely on sweet sauces and are nothing special. The main problem here is noise. Half of the restaurant is hibachi-style, which attracts many families and childrens birthday parties. It can be extremely loud. The staff is always hovering, anxious for you to leave so they can turn the table. Three different people came to take our order and plates were grabbed while we were still eating. Terrible place to eat. The service was horrible. They continuously rushed an order from you, and as you ate you tried to collect your plate. When saying you weren't finished eating, they dropped the plate and rolled their eyes. The staff was rude and not accommodating. In the end, when the bill came, my party of 5 paid on card. The bill was $110, and because of the horrendous experience, we were only willing to tip 10 dollars which is 9%. The lady who was literally grabbing our dishes as we ate from them, was now screaming in my ear and my friends ear about how we gave a 9% and it needs to be a 16% tip or more. I was thoroughly confused by the statement because there is a law that states that the mandatory tip you need to pay is included in the gratuity which is stated and included in your total. If that does not occur, then you tip the amount you can out of respect. I asked the lady where that is stated. She continued to yell in my ear, and not answer my question. This lady proceeded to look over my shoulder and my friends shoulder to see if we would tip more. My friend gave in and ended up tipping $15 which is close to 16%. Now although I look young for the age of 19, I am not stupid. I was being treated as if I was 10 and my mother had let me out of the house alone for the first time. She acted as if I didn't know what I was doing. She continued to stare us down as we left. The rudeness was unacceptable. The food is Ok.... That said, I wish they would care more about the environment. They use a lot of straws in their drinks when they are NOT asked for by the customers and NOT needed. Buddha has a fun vibe to it (giant buddha! goldfish pond!), and the food is okay - but not great. I always get salad or soup plus sushi. There are some fun rolls, and the sushi is fine. Been there twice once with my husband then another time with people I work with. The first time I ordered the hibachi salmon lunch special It came with clear soup, salad, noodles, veggie, little bowl of white rice and good piece of salmon. Good portion and good food for the price. Service was a little ehh not rude or anything just nothing spectacular, like my husband said "they need personality" and maybe more knowledge of the menu/drink list. 2nd time I went I ordered the white tiger and once again hibachi lunch salmon and lychee martini. OMG the white tiger sushi was amazing!! very little rice which i like with my sushi (I hate when its basically all rice) and martini was good as well. I haven't tried the hibachi but I have been here twice for dinner. The front of the restaurant is nicely decorated. We ordered dumpling and lettuce wraps to start. The dumplings are addicting. I even ordered only dumplings from here twice to go. We then split the orange chicken. Tasted good and was a very generous serving size. The service was good. I will have to try the hibachi sometime, but I already know that I will definitely be ordering some dumplings from here in the near future. read more

I had passed this place a few times while shopping in the Rye Brook plaza and always wanted to check it out. It looked like an awesome, upscale sushi place with waterfalls, Buddhists on the wall, and a very cozy ambiance. I ended up coming for lunch on a disgustingly rainy Tuesday so the place was pretty dead but I thought the food was good and I liked the ambiance, plus I thought the prices were pretty reasonable. For lunch I ended up going with 2 sushi rolls for $8.50-$9 which came with a miso soup or salad. They also had some awesome Thai options that looked rather tasty for about $10 or so. I ended up with a spicy yellowtail crunch roll and tuna avocado with extra spicy mayo and brown rice. Everything tasted fresh to me and I liked that the rolls weren't jam packed with rice like some places do. The service was pretty quick, I was easily in and out within an hour. The waitress wasn't super friendly, but it was lunch, so I was expecting and in/out type of situation. I can't say too much as all I had was two rolls for lunch, but overall their menu has a lot of options, and it looked like they had a decent wine and cocktails menu too. I'd love to come back and try some Thai food. My office is about 10 minutes away, so I really have no reason not to! read more
