Gloria said I needed a barcode to return, logged into account on phone and pulled up the order that had a bar code. She could not get the order to pull up so said I had to come back in morning to let her manager take care of it. Told her I would not that I lived out in the country on other side of town. She kept insisting there was nothing she could do and I needed to come back in the morning. I asked if she was going to reimburse me for my time and gas and she chuckled and said no. I told her I was not coming back in the morning and to call someone to figure out how to return it. She said no and that she was refusing me service and I needed to leave. I told her I would be contacting corporate about all of this. I told her that we have been long time customers and have spent a lot of money at this store and we would not be shopping with Advance Auto every again. She stated well I've been here for 3 years and I have never seen you. I replied, well (named a specific prior employee) that used to work here years ago and before I could finish Gloria shouted out oh you mean the one who got fired for stealing. Did she just really say that to me? I then asked her for her name because she wasn't wearing a name tag. She yelled back that she didn't have information for corporate. I said I didn't ask you for corporate info I asked for your name. In which then she gave me. She then told me to leave again in which I did and stated that it shouldn't be a hassle for me because she doesn't know how to do her job. I went to the 4th street store and showed them the exact information I showed Gloria and they had no trouble doing the return. Upon leaving the store the lady cashier asked me if I was the one who tried to do a return at the Prairie Ave store. Apparently Gloria called over there and told them I was trying to do a fake return, that the information I had was not valid. How dare her talk about me like that. She popped the hood and found pieces of it in the engine compartment. Told me, her father, at 5:00pm on a Saturday what she heard and found. Together ! After yelping auto parts, called this store and spoke with Joseph, he put me on hold to see if he could find someone to do the repair.. said yes, and he had the part. When we got to AutoZone the repair guy said he was too busy. As we were getting the part, the store manager said it was on his way home and would do it for free. So there we were Jimmy and I working away, when a sudden rain storm comes flooding down on us, but we were finally successful in getting the stubborn idler replaced. BTW, Volkswagen didn't make the task very easy in the two hours it took. Yes in my shop or a service store it would have taken less time. We had neither. I could not have received better treatment, or caring by the staff and the manager as they went way above the call of duty, working on the car on the side of a residential neighborhood in the rain. My daughter, wife and I cannot thank them enough for helping us get her car back together last evening. I will be forever grateful...Special thanks to Jimmy, who after work spent time unselfishly helping us instead of going home to relax and enjoy his evening. Thanks again guys!

When I finally get one worker's attention I ask for my part and she starts screaming (Viejo) at another worker who was at the end of the store extremely loud he comes over and she tells him she is used to customers bringing in the parts so she can find them . What really??!?! I had a picture of the part and the part number they didn't find it even tho online it says they have some. They said they don't know how to operate the system and walked away that's it left me without my car part?!?!?! Will never go back and will always warn others to go elsewhere!!

I was able to just drop it off and picked it up later. Shane was my service rep, he was friendly. I would go back for service again. Side note... the friends we're visiting went there looking for a car for their son. Apparently the sales team there was not friendly or helpful at all. Not only did they not get up from their desk to greet or help them, it was almost too much for them to even look up and have a conversation.
