Took my 2006 Jeep in due to an issue with the rear driver's side window. Had them fix that and do an oil change as well. Got the car back that afternoon and the next morning it won't start. Took it into them again and they say I need a new battery AND a new alternator. Another $575! I simply don't believe this is a coincidence - the car was totally fine the day before. I started going to Bucky's when Trish was the manager--she was great, but sadly, no longer there. My first experience: I took my car in for some muffler work. The dealer quoted me $700, said I had to replace the "entire system." Took it to Bucky's, they said, "yeah, well, we could probably do a weld repair for about $70." Sold. Fast forward several years later, I take my car to Bucky's for all things muffler and suspension related and for the most part, I'm happy. It seems a bit more pricey than it used to be, so I'm careful to shop around, and for other repair issues I may use other shops, but for the rear-end of my car, I'm satisfied. read more

They give me a heads up about repairs that are needed and don't pressure me if I need to put a repair off a little. I have been in the shop twice when a customer has said they need new brakes. The brakes were checked and then Trish told them they did NOT need new brakes and how much wear they had left on them. That is what I call service! PLEASE READ THIS !!! After they diagnosed my car (they promised to fix it), they recommended to replace front balljoints, new rear brakes and broken rear wheel bearings. After the work was completed, the car was extremely unsafe to drive. When I complained they told me to get a wheel alignment. I tried to get a wheel alignment but was told the car was unalignable. I then took the car to a dealer (40 days and 300 miles later). They told me that the ball joints were installed incorrectly (90 degrees offset), the brakes were not adjusted correctly leading to hardly any pedal resistance, and for the rear wheel bearings, only 2 of 4 were replaced and no grease was added. Thus, the new parts installed b y Bucky's ($300 + $500 labor) had to be discarded and replaced by yet new parts again. This is as bad as it can get, not to mention the car was extremely dangerous to drive. read more

I got my car towed to the shop, I drive for a living and asked if they could repair my car as soon as possible. I got my radiator repaired, brakes, oil and fluids changed, a flush and a new starter put in. It only took less then half the day!! They are polite, understanding and very professional. They explained everything to me and talked about costs before anything was worked on. I was very happy with the price. My car runs smooth and feels safe. Timmy, Steven and Hung are exceptional mechanics and take pride in their work, and care about their customers and made sure I had my car repaired in time, so I wouldn't miss work. Have been using these guys for a bit for oil changes and small things. This past year had them replace the engine in our church van - great job, fast, 1/2 the price of the dealership. They seemed nice enough and I got a good deal on my tuneup with an online coupon. They told me my car looked good and I was on my way. A couple days later my engine light came on. When I called if they charge for diagnostic I was told $40-90. Thanks, but no thanks. I took it to another place that told me there was a lose filter bringing in too much air to my engine, which caused my check engine light to come on...for free. Thought this would be great place to start taking my car, especially since it's just right across the street for me. My car was totaled last week and I've been dealing with all of the bs that comes with that. I am alone in the area with my 7 month old. My father, who is my savior, drove one of his old cars up so I could have transportation while I figure out my next step. We talked to a mechanic and we agreed that I would bring the car by in the morning, when I turn the car on to start it, the engine just completely dies. At that point I am dumbfounded by my luck, I am already thousands of dollars in debt for an accident I didn't cause, and my father drove 20 hours the day before to help me out. We let the manger know what happened, and asked if he could kindly check out the car, he said someone will be out in a minute. We wait close to an HOUR with the mechanics just chit chatting, and the manager on the phone glaring at us and getting obviously annoyed. While we are waiting inside, my father walks out, and then the manger annoyingly asks a mechanic to "see what is up with this man, and to charge him oil if he needs it" I completely LOST it at that point. The customer service here made my blood boil, and I will make sure to let everyone know that this place is not worth it. I will make sure to bring my brand new car to a different place whenever it needs it. They act like we couldn't pay for whatever they would do to my car to help me get my infant home, and my father to the airport. My father doesn't dress in suits, but he owns multiple businesses, and just wanted to help his daughter, this place could not care less about helping out a FAMILY, with a BABY. Took my car in today to check out my air conditioning. They fit me in earlier than the estimated wait time. Every one working, including the serious looking man working on cars, was super friendly. They literally bantered and chatted with every person I saw come through. When the mechanic found a leak after filling the refrigerant, he investigated until he found the leaking valve and fixed it. I was nervous to find a new repair shop as it's been quite awhile since I've had to get anything done. I just happened across Bucky's since it was near where my car broke down. I am so lucky to have stumbled upon this place. I didn't check the reviews until after I set up my appointment and was relieved to see the reviews were great. I am giving five stars! I knew my power steeling belt had broke but it also caused other mechanical failures so I wasn't sure how bad it was going to be or how much. I am on a tight budget and couldn't afford much. I got a call just about an hour or two after dropping it off saying it was two belts needing replaced then I had the option of getting a new battery or having the current one cleaned up. I liked that I was given affordable options and was not pushed into more services since I can't afford it. I was given good information on what my car will need in the near future. They check everything! And the price was extremely affordable. I will be back if I need any auto services. read more

I spent like 3 grand on parts trying to fix it myself, and they were able to get me in quickly, find the issue, explain it to me, and show me the relatively cheap fix needed to eliminate the problem. This place is swindle services specializing in taking advantage of people who are not mechanics. I called my father who lives in San Diego who is a mechanic asking him if it was normal to keep getting calls about "this new fluid they need to use is now $19 per quart not $5 per quart like They originally thought, and the car parts in their system haven't been upgraded so they will be more expensive... and my dad told me to get my car out of there ASAP. When I called to tell them I don't want the services if the price was going to keep changing they said there was nothing they could do. As a customer I should have the right to agree or not agree to the new prices before they proceeded, draining my car and putting it in pieces, forcing me to pay astronomicaly high rates to get my car back. I brought my 2005 Honda CRV into Bucky's to repair the front rotors and brake pads. I purchased the parts, and brought them to the shop for service/paid for the labor. When I picked up my car, there was a funny sound coming from the driver's side wheel, I was told that because the parts were new, the sound was to be expected at first. When I noticed it getting worse rather than better, I took my car back (with the receipt and invoice), and I was then told that I had bought the wrong parts, and that I would be charged a second time to replace them. "No one works for free" was the reasoning. What?! 1) If the parts were wrong, why didn't they notice it, and tell me from the very beginning? 2) Why did they lie to me about the sound being a result of parts being "new" if the parts were wrong? 3) If I exchanged the parts, shouldn't they have just replaced them out of customer courtesy? Not cool, Bucky's. I'll never make that mistake again - hope this review will help others not be suckered into it as well. Negative stars. read more

Still pretty solid service and always fast work and they can normally get you in right away but I'm taking 1 star away as the last time I had work done (Replaced Gasket) it didn't get closed up correctly and accidentally ended up pinching the plenum which was corrected by another shot that did some specialty work for me closer to my home. It was missing one of the clips which was pretty difficult to find but it ended up being fixable with no long term damage. read more

I had taken my Fleetwood Cadillac to this shop for brake repair. The brakes were locking up and the wheel hub was getting hot to the point that you couldn't touch it. They charged me 1600.00 or so and said I was good to go. Right away I noticed the brakes were still locking up and the wheel hub still pipping hot.Back to the shop I went, they told me they would take care of it. about a week and 600$ later I pick up my car. Guess what, the brakes are still locking up and the wheel hub is still hot. I told them its obvious that there so called mechanics don't have a clue what they are doing, She said that "we have been very kind to you, in fact we put parts on your car that we did not charge you for so you should be great full for that, maybe its your master cylinder"? MAYBY? You mean after all this time you guy's have just been replacing parts? I look at my bill and most of what I paid for are parts. Any one can replace parts on a car. It takes a real mechanic to actually fix a car. This shop was Walts at one time.I remember they did great work. Buckys has a great location right off aurora ave. Had my brakes done here per a recommendation ...NEVER again! Drove off the lot after paying and being told the job was done. I got about three blocks away before my left brakepad locked down on the disc ...ruined the disc and the pad! And even though I returned to the shop and they determined that they were at fault for not flushing the brakeline and adding fresh brakefluid they refused to pay and install new ones ...so almost $700 later I am one pee'd EX-customer. Beware! Beware! It is very unfortunate that Bucky's in general and in Shoreline is listed on the States Emissions list for referral for failed emissions tests just to get a wavier for tabs. This place charges exceedingly amounts of $$$ for auto parts for your car, That does NOT mean the problem will be fixed. More than auto supply retailers and New and used auto dealerships for parts and auto shops. When Doug the previous manager was working there, things seem to go smoothly, but I do recall sometime ago asking if I should get the part I needed and bring it in myself, he told me it's ok we got it. I didn't pay any attention, not until a most recent visit for Emission failure. I ended going back for a second time because of the sensor light within three weeks of having the beaver service my vehicle. Total rip off!! Here's the problem. Bucky's purchase parts from local retailers, O'rielly and Auto zone etc.. then charges the public over and beyond what they're worth and will try to convince the customer that they are paying less for diagnoses supposedly included in the parts charges, and that they will match the price of other businesses with a receipt and pay you back double according to the corporate management, after the fact their service shop representative assured a customer and had already completed the transaction and did not solve the problem of why you went to Bucky's in the first place is bad ethics on their PART. I brought my car in back in February because it was over heating. They said they fixed the problem but 2 weeks later it started to over heat again while I was in target. So I had the row truck bring it back in. And when it was back in they fixed it and I haven't had to bring it back in since then. They checked it out and told me I just had a couple loose hose clamps and tightened them up as well as refilled my coolant FOR FREE!!!! What mechanic does that??? Dishonest! Dishonest! Went in for oil change with Valpak coupon. Was told coupon doesn't apply for my vehicle and oil needed. Said go ahead and they changed oil for almost $100. They also said needed new calipers on rear brakes to the tune of nearly $650. That seemed like a gouge so took my car to D&D Brakes who I totally trust and they said everything is fine and to check back in about 15,000 miles. At the beginning of July we were at a loss with our car. We had taken our 2014 Nissan Juke to a guy in Mukilteo to replace the transmission, after a month of stress and lies, we didn't know what to do, our car was gutted, no tires, the AC unit was removed and the transmission was on the ground of his garage. We called around to shops and we're turned down one after the other. We called Bucky's and told them the situation and had it towed to them. The guy left our flywheel, and actual transmission head (new one) with SEVERAL other pieces out and were given to us in a U-Haul box and shoved in the back seat. Bucky's had the shop owner come look at it to see if they were even allowed to touch it. After two anxious weeks we got our car back. They did an amazing job and we will definitely take both of our cars back for service in the future. I highly recommend this shop, they are honest, fair and we gave them quite the nightmare to deal with. After the terrible experience we had with the other "shop" we were nervous but they have definitely earned my trust! read more

Unforeseen auto expenses are part of life, but unforeseen increases to a quoted price without reasonable notice shouldn't be. On Tuesday we got a great quote from the very nice lady working the phone at Bucky's: $1300 or so after taxes to repair/ replace the head gasket in our 1998 Chevy Malibu (note: the car books at around $1800, but ours has 110,000 miles, so it's probably worth $1400 or $1500). On Wednesday, we received a call from the nice lady who spent a good ten minutes explaining to my fiancé what they'd done to the car, what they were going to do to the car, and what else they'd found wrong with the car which would increase the total bill such that the final price would be "slightly higher" than the original estimate. She never actually stated a new price, letting us assume what "slightly higher" than the original estimate might mean. On Saturday, we get the call that the car is ready and a final bill for over $1700! When we went in and tried to find out where the difference was, we found additional charges never quoted to us, and the nice woman basically called my fiancé a liar, claiming she'd told us the new estimate. While I'm sure she THINKS she gave my fiancé an actual number, it bears mentioning that my fiancé has a gift for numbers: she has a Masters degree in mathematics from UW, teaches mathematics, and can remember phone numbers she's dialed only once. If she'd been given a new estimate -- an actual number -- she would have remembered it. But she didn't give us a number, and we naturally assumed that "slightly higher" meant 10% or 15% higher, NOT 35% higher. Only when I told the lady they could keep the car and that we would spend the $1700 on a new car rather than paying prices 35% higher than what we were quoted did she become amicable and, eventually, bring the price down to about $1600. The mechanics there were nice enough to let us know of one additional problem with the car, but we'll be having that work done somewhere we can get real a estimate that we can TRUST. That place is NOT Bucky's. read more

I went in for an oil change and fluid top-off. My oil was overfilled which initiated multiple oil leaks which will cost about $800 to repair! Granted, the car is older and the seals weren't new, but the day the car came home from their oil change was the first time I'd ever had an oil-mess on the garage floor. They said it was purely coincidence. Also, my fluids weren't topped off. A headlight was also out, and I asked to have it replaced. They said it was just an unplugged wire, and it should work fine. When I started the car, the headlight did not work. I went back in and they drained the excess oil and topped off my fluids. They offered to give me a discount to have the gaskets that blew out replaced, but there's no way they are touching my car again. read more

Went in today with a car that could not accelerate over 4,000 RPM on a 6,000 RPM Redline and left with a rocket ship! My car would not even go up a hill. Lenny one of the mechanics was able to diagnose my problem, it was that c-converter and the fuel-filter. I swear they worked a miracle because I thought I was due for a new tranny. Buckys saved the day! Very friendly staff, and amazing customer service for an auto repair shop... Friendly smiles and not mean, rugged @$$hole shop guys that make you feel stupid. Buckys hooked me up with not only a new cat, and fuel-filter but got my car hooked up on an awesome flowmaster system. After years of having my vehicles serviced here I took my car in this morning to get the coupon special oil change done. The person in charge whom I thought to be the manager told me they didn't have time to do it today, and asked me if I had the coupon. I responded that yes I have the coupon. He then informed me that he could set up an appointment for me to have the work done. I asked about Monday and he said he could set me up and I asked for 8:30. He then advised me they don't accept coupons for appointments. Why didn't he tell me that to begin with? Obviiously to me this company either doesn't want or doesn't need my business. read more

So, I've been twice. Both times to get an oil change, which I got. Both times I needed additional services, which I hadn't expected. That's not so much a problem (comes with owning a vehicle). The problem is "strange" stuff that happened the two times I had my car serviced. The first time, when my truck was done, the mechanic drove out of the service bay to park right in front (which is a nice bit of customer service I'll admit) and hit the building with the front of my truck. To add insult to injury, I saw it happen and when he came inside with the paperwork and key, he didn't say a darn thing!!! Granted, there was no visible damage (I looked) but you gotta fess up when you do something like that. It's the professional thing to do. So, I let that go, I decided it wasn't such a huge deal and I wanted to give them another shot. Well, on that first visit the extra service I had was to have the tensioner belt and mechanism replaced. They did the job, but the part that was replaced was left sitting on top of the engine!!! I didn't find that out until this second time I went. The mechanic saw it and set it on the passenger seat. Didn't say anything about it, just set it there. So, when I picked up the truck, I saw it, went back indide to find out what it was and he said "oh yeah, whoever replaced your tensioner belt left that on top of the engine." I said "yeah, that was you guys!!!". HELLO!!! Needless to say, I'm not too impressed. It's a shame, because everybody there seems really nice and I would rather support a local business. But, I can't risk another "goof-up" the next time I need an oil change. read more
