Upgrading my review to 4 stars here. We've been finding ourselves at Bucky's Express every weekend grabbing a quick wash at their self-serve automatic car wash while we're out and about. Aside from the really terrible and annoying payment processing machine (always quirky and broken), the wash is decent and gives us just enough dignity to drive our car around without tree sap or bird droppings from the birds that attack our car from the tree over our driveway. $8 for a super basic wash, but if our car gets extra dirty we opt for the $11 foam wash. We've never experienced any technical difficulties, but I know others have. We'll be back...thankfully it's been raining lately so we can save some $. read more

Do not go here!!!! I used their car wash...the system malfunctioned and caused 3000 in damages ...the on site manager took a report and said they would pay damages...managers and corporate have denied liability...so my only recourse is to sue. This place is dangerous!!! I could have been really hurt...and my car is a mess! These are bad guys...bad ethics. read more

I always enjoy going to Bucky's, they never disappoint its sad that there's not too many near me. The store was very clean inside and out, tons of great stuff inside the store. I love the large variety of munchies and drinks to choose from in the store! Very friendly customer service from very friendly staff. read more

Be very careful using your credit cards at Bucky's gas stations. Many patrons have had their credit card numbers skimmed and later used for fraudulent purchases. Management does seem too worried by the phone calls made to alert them. read more

Car wash was not bad but nothing special. Dryer is weak, some foam left around the car. Basic wash is $8.

Watch this place! They have advertising displayed in the store that says 2 for $3 and buy one, get the second for $1, but that's not what they charge at the register. Then, the employee pleads ignorance and says she doesn't know how to fix it. Walk away! read more

Stay away from this gas stations car wash! Horribly aggressive wipers that will damage your car. This car wash ripped off a 1/4 of my spoiler and Bucky's will refuse to pay for anything. The factory spoiler was in perfect condition is now ruined and I won't see a nickel for it. Don't be tempted by a quick car wash here that will save you money. Do yourself a favor and go just about anywhere else. read more

Since this station was renovated, I feel it is a much nicer station. Originally the pumps were terribly slow, often with one or two out of service. Now they have state-of-the-art pumps that are faster (though not as fast as the ones at the Mobil kitty-corner from here). The islands are well maintained, with window cleaning kits and garbage cans that are frequently emptied (another problem of the old station). The whole station is well lit, making it feel much safer than the old station. Gas prices are pretty fair, for a station right off the expressway. Their market area is the real gem of this gas station. The market is well-lit, with excellent climate control, and is sparkling clean. The bathrooms are immaculate, with quality fixtures. There are TONS of food options - hot food options at all hours, frozen foods, snacks, groceries, fridges filled with beverages, hot & cold drink machines, and even ice cream. Late at night, this is one of the top places to get a quick bite to eat, and a cold drink. Staff are attentive and friendly, while everything is priced quit reasonably. There's even a small area to sit for a bit, to eat, and lots of parking. Unfortunately, not all is improved... They added a new tunnel car wash system, which has all the bells and whistles and should provide a premium wash. However, it doesn't seem like it's properly calibrated or has malfunctioning sensors. I have a sedan with a very basic profile, but the brushes kept bouncing back and forth as it struggled to find my car profile. Half the time the brushes were off my vehicle, just spinning in the air. When it brings the brushes back - particularly when in the front or back - they get unusually close to the point that the armatures start bouncing back and forth. No damage was done, but it shook the car several times quite vigorously. Because of this, the conveyor had to stop a few times for me and the car ahead, resulting in uneven coverage of detergent. The spot-free rinse was very good, with excellent coverage, but the air dryers were underwhelming - missing the bottom quarter of the entire car. I've also gone through with my mid-size SUV twice, and it had similar problems (though less shaking and the dryer was more efficient). This tunnel offers one of the poorer washes I've had in the neighborhood, and I was concerned about it damaging the front and rear. The car wash system is a pretty new system, and all appears to be quality equipment. I think it's just suffering from improper calibration or some kind of sensor malfunction. I've mentioned this to the employees upon my first wash, who seemed genuinely concerned, but it continues to be an issue months later. If you avoid this automatic car wash (go to the Mobil station kitty-corner from this location which is open 24 hours, or the Shell at Lake Cook & Skokie which is open 24 hours and the car was open 7am ~ 8pm, for excellent automatic washes), I think this Bucky's Express is a good 24 hour gas station. The fueling options and market are excellent, and there are other places to get a decent automatic wash. read more

I just purchesed car wash and was stuck in Carwash room for 10 min since it was broke. I came inside s station to ask for my money back i got attitude instead by worker named Carolia who told me that it is my problem since I " dont know how to use a car wash ' So not only that they wasted my time , she pretty much insulted as if i were retarded.. I will never use this gas station again there is another one near by and they will get my money and time in the future.. read more

There are many choices for gas/ convenience stores in this area. Either the local franchise or Corp made it a policy that forces you to pay inside unless you are a loyalty program member. I have nothing against loyalty programs but I DO have something against any organization that would bully you into joining theirs. I drove back out of your business and will not be back to fill my 40gal tank (something I do twice a week) until this policy is ended! read more

While nicer than its predecessor, the overall impression and reality of this place is, well, slovenly... and staffed by people who really do not care one whit about their surroundings. I stop there weekly on a "joyride" in my sportscar because it's convenient to my route. But, when I do stop, I'm always appalled by how dirty and unkempt the place is... and it's a relatively new gas/convenience stop. The wipes stations are never filled, nor are the windshield washer fluid wells. There's "oil dry" around all the pump islands that should be swept up. When I've gone into the store itself to comment, I got that "It's not my job" attitude from the staff. Fact is, one time one of the employees came outside, looked around, shrugged her shoulders and walked back into the store. I know nothing was done that day because I stopped for a fill up on my way home (mostly out of curiosity) and it was exactly the same as early that morning. Clearly, Bucky's needs more involved employees and better on-site management/inspections. It's sad because it's a nice looking place but it certainly doesn't stand up to a close look. read more

It's pretty easy to see why this place gets bad reviews. Been to this location a few times. The ice cream and yogurt machines are always broke or "being cleaned." Definitely needs to be cleaned. Staff aren't very pleasant and unhelpful. Wont be back. read more

I used the automated car wash and both my tires on the passenger side were slashed and the front bumper was partially pulled off and tore my wiring to the fog light. The owner says my front wheel was on top of the track and the back tire was in the track. There was no indication or warning that my front tire was not in the track and the moving track forced my car through without stopping the car wash. My two tires were completely flat and of course I had to call a tow truck at my expense. The owner also refuses to pay for the two slash tires and the bumper and fog light repairs. Beware, do not use this car wash. read more

The only reason I visited this station was for the car wash. They just doubled the rates. It's now $12 for a "gold" wash which is the cheapest that includes under-carriage cleaning to remove road salt. That's a ridiculous price for a drive through car wash when you consider the car doesn't really get that clean. Sorry, won't be going back. read more

Went into this gas station for a pack of smokes the guy behind the counter was picking at his face basically touching everything so I asked him to use some hand sanitizer before dealing with me he threw a hissy fit and said his hands are too sensitive he can't be doing this using hand sanitizer then he asked me what I wanted I said I want you to use some hand sanitizer before dealing with me even touching everything and picking your face he then threw his hands in the air and back away a manager then approached and asked what the problem was I stated I wanted to use some hand sanitizer she said my hands are clean I said would you mind using some she made a disgruntled look and then use some I then told the guy maybe he shouldn't be working during covid-19 she told me I don't need to talk to him I then said it's my first amendment right I'm not your kid I'll speak when I want to these people here act like they are the Mexican cartel that run the place very pushy and bossy and 4th power dealing with the public I would recommend using the one across the street and boycotting this place play Short change you they over price items that display a different way the car wash is horrible the bathrooms are always dirty I would love to get a hold of the direct owner and see what he says about all this buckeys is one of the only gas stations I visit I will never visit this one again even though I drive past it twice a day and usually stop twice a day not no more the little sissy on the inside hands are too sensitive for hand sanitizer go home and rub your mother's feet loser read more
