A pleasant treat, blessed with a band; attentive and friendly wait-staff team, scruptious entrees and dessert

Talk about unique. Not just the bar, but the surroundings. I have lived in Denver my entire life and have spent so much of my life exploring the mountains I am not sure how I have missed this place. The menu was small, but everyone was happy with their selection. It was a bit cold inside but they lit the stove and it was warming up nicely. The dollars hanging from the ceiling, endless names carved into and written on every exposed surface. Just as unique as it gets, and I recommend it.

We had a great time at the Bucksnort! Excellent drinks and the burgers was delicious and huge. It had to be a half pounder. Excellent live music too.

This is the true of the beaten path bar that just screams Colorado. We ably found it as a bartender at another bar told us about this little gem. It seems to be such a secret that it's mostly locals, which can't be bad. We didn't eat anything on this trip but will be back. If you looking a "dive" bar in nature this is it. Worth the drive.

We stumbled across this little dive bar last fall while on a road trip through the mountains and decided to check it out. Walking into this spot is like traveling back hundreds of years. The floor of the entrance is slanted towards the river, the walls are covered with graffiti and stapled-on dollar bills, and the only source of heat comes from a wood burning stove located in the center of the dining area. We ordered a Moose Drool and an Antler Ale from the lovely bartender and sat next to the stove, trying to thaw out. The fantastic aroma of the burning wood filled the bar, mingling with the delicious scent of freshly cooked burgers. While we didn't eat anything this time, the burger that came out of the kitchen was mountainous and made us wish we hadn't had lunch right before. We chatted with the locals who had wandered across the street for a mid-afternoon happy hour while the bartender stoked the fire, and sipped our icy cold brews, enjoying the camaraderie and friendliness of the small town before continuing on our trip. I can't wait to travel back in time again!

Love this place. We were driving through the mountains and saw a sign on highway. How lucky! Cute place. Dollar bills everywhere. The bAbbling brook is so relaxing to sit by and the Brisket and Potato Salad are amazing. Definite suggest you take a drive to the mountains and atop in. Friendly staff and patrons.

The wife and I went on a wild adventure through the rainy Colorado mountains and crazy muddy dirt road on the Harley to get to this one of kind saloon last week. This is a quaint little, old school, mom and pop type saloon! There are literally hundreds of dollar bills blowing in the breeze attached to the walls and ceilings sign by different people from all over the world. They had live music, and a small outdoor patio. The drive to get up to the saloon is a well graded dirt road which is easily drivable by all vehicles. I would however be careful heading up there in the rain, I'm sure it would be rather muddy. I had a fantastic Bloody Mary that looked more like a salad. It had just the right amount of spice to give it some kick and it went down real smooth. The cheese burgers were homemade outside on the grill; we watched the owner cooking while we sat outside. The service was a little slow and chaotic due to the number of patrons and limited amount of staff. The saloon sits right along a small creek and has a nice view of the surrounding mountains. This is definitely a great place to take a small road trip on a weekend afternoon to see some great scenery and lounge the afternoon away.

Watching the cook BBQ all the meat on his specialty grills - if you go, look carefully at the front of the grills! haha

And, bonus you do too. First, The Vintage Moose makes the most of their small space - they even have a back room with a few games, open windows and beyond that, a small patio. Super chill. We laughed reading all the cool signs and stickers from all around. Lots to enjoy as you partake in an adult bevvie. Just one guy running the bar and he was amazing. If you're looking for a place where the locals hang out and everyone knows everyone, this is it. We had a great time, even though we were new. We def will be back. It has that classic local bar feel - relaxed, welcoming, and full of personality. Most of the crowd seemed to be locals, aside from us and a couple of other tables grabbing a later dinner. That's usually a good sign. The drink selection had plenty of options, and the atmosphere made it easy to settle in and stay awhile. We kept it simple with a few neat pours of whiskey and enjoyed soaking in the vibe. We didn't try the food this visit, but after seeing what was coming out of the kitchen, we'll definitely be back to do that next time. If you're looking for a laid-back local spot in Idaho Springs, The Vintage Moose is worth a stop.

The bartenders anytime I've gone in are attentive and one will even get you another drink without you having to ask until you say stop or from what I saw from an inebriated patron she says stop. The jukebox is awesome, download the app and you can play music from your seat. If it's dead, and no music is playing most of the bartenders will put it on free play so you can just play music at will. For free.
