We called Bucks Heating and Air to get a second opinion on our A/C system, which was struggling to cool the house. Cory managed to squeeze us in the same day we contacted him. Unlike the first company we called, Cory did not try to upsell us or push us to buy a new system (ours is only 8 years old). Unlike the first company we called, he had all the specialized equipment needed to promptly identify the leak in our system and then fix it - without even needing to evacuate the refrigerant. Unlike the first company we called, he charged a fair market price for the recharge. Can't recommend Bucks enough; Cory was friendly, honest, and highly competent. read more

I called Cory this morning, he came out this afternoon, and my system is fixed. Cory was super cool, and quickly diagnosed & resolved the problem. At no point did he make me feel stupid for causing the problem, nor did he come off as obnoxious given his knowledge. You can tell that Cory enjoys serving people, and is highly trained at what he does. I hope I don't have any HVAC problems for a while, but if I do, I'm calling Cory @ Bucks Heating & Air. read more

Our AC went out in the middle of a heatwave. Cory was excellent. His response time was super-fast. He was able to come out, diagnose, and fix our issue the same day. He was very competent, he diagnosed very quickly that the capacitor had gone bad, and he immediately saw a wire that had been chewed through. He showed me the issues and made me feel confident that he was doing only the necessary repairs and that they would last. He even took the time to show me some ways to make our unit run more efficiently during the summer heat. I would recommend Bucks Heating and Air to anyone, and I will be using him for all my future HVAC maintenance and repairs. Pros: Prompt, reliable, honest, competent, affordable Cons: none read more

Called Bucks cuz the blower motor on our AC went out. They got us in for an inspection that day, was able to get the part in and replace it the next. Didn't try to sell us a new unit even though ours is a bit older. Will recommend them to others, and will use them again in the future. read more

Buck helped me pick out a replacement system and the next week installed it all in one day. The new 18 Seer Trane is much quieter than our old system and seems to be very efficient. Buck is a true professional. read more

AC stopped working during the day but we didn't really notice it until after 5. On the phone we were able to explain what was happening and he had some ideas on the fix. He came out and he was right! He was able to fix the AC quickly and the house is cold again within the hour. So happy he was able to fix it quickly because today is supposed to be over 100! read more

We found Buck's on yelp and they have all 5 Star reviews. I know why. I hired them to look at my AC when it went out this year, about a month ago. They were available to have a technician on site the next day. He was honest with how the company he works for does business, honest and clear with explaining what was wrong with my system, and used simple language that I could follow. I felt like I trusted him enough to as him to service my unit again a few weeks later to make sure everything was working properly. I'm relieved that I now feel like I have a company that wants long term business based on honesty and respect. I've been looking for an "AC guy" and it looks like I just found my go to company. read more

Today we had a wiring issue with our outdoor ac unit that shut down unexpectedly at about 11 am. We called Cory shortly after we figured out that it wasn't a breaker or anything we could easily fix. He was able to fit us into his schedule and arrived at just after 3 pm. He quickly diagnosed the problem as a shoddy wiring job by the original installer (NOT Bucks unfortunately). After about 30 minutes of rewiring the outdoor unit, he had it running and only charged us what I thought was a VERY reasonable repair fee. I highly recommend Bucks Heating and Air and their prompt quality workmanship and outstanding customer service! read more

Friday the 13th was my lucky day when I called Buck's late on a hot Friday about our AC that had stopped working. Cory was 8 minutes away and made one last stop on his way home. Less than 30 minutes later, we were back in business. Cory's my go-to HVAC guy now. read more

Our AC went out the other day around 3pm and Bucks Heating and Air came to check it out within a half hour after he finished another appointment. Cory was great and explained everything before before he fixed our AC. Our AC was fixed and we also signed up for the maintenance program which was very reasonably priced. Cory is also the owner and is very personable, courteous and knowledgeable. It's hot out so if you have any issues with your AC, I highly recommend Bucks! read more

Short version: Great service but expensive. Both of my AC condensers stopped working during a heat wave. I called up Buck's and they were able to stop by the same day to look at the problem. Bonus points there because I talked to four other companies that couldn't see me same day. The person that came by was great in every way: professional, efficient, great communication, and generally pleasant. He diagnosed the issues quickly but did not have the mentality of getting in and out of this job as fast as possible. He also spent a good deal of time discussing possible upgrade options for when I need to replace my HVAC (this is something that I brought up - not him). Overall, 5 star service. I knocked off 1 star for one reason, the price. I was charged two $100 diagnostics because he had to work on both units. The issue was a bad capacitor on 1 unit and the other was a bad 50 Amp 2-pole breaker. $100 for parts maybe? He worked for about 2 hours total so if he makes $100 per hour, the total for all of that would be a total of $500 and that's being super generous. I was charged $645. If the cost was around $350-$400, I would have been very happy to pay it and give 5 stars. read more

My parent's upstairs A/C stopped cooling right as the whole family was coming in town for Father's Day. Cory went out of his way to come by that afternoon and fixed the issue in no time. Can't recommend highly enough! read more

Corey provided answers for all of our questions and provided us with our options. He did not try to upsell anything and gave us the facts and let us decide. The unit was installed professionally and runs great. A few days after installation the AC quit working at 9PM. I reached out to Corey that night and he called me right back. It turned out to be a clogged condensate drain which Corey suspected. I cleared it and the unit stated working again. He then called back the next day to ensure the unit was still running. I highly recommend Bucks. read more

My AC went out on one of the hottest days of the year. Bucks heating and air was awesome. They replied very promptly and gave me a reasonable time frame of when they could come out. The tech they sent out showed up right on time and was able to have my AC fixed very quickly. He was also very professional and explained what the issue was. The price was right too, very affordable. I would recommend Bucks heating and air to anyone that needs HVAC maintenance or repairs. read more

Thermostat blew in our home leaving us w/o heating or air in 1/2 of our home. One call to Corey had him in our home w/I 25 hrs. Took a little time , lots of effort, but diagnosed a rather obscure control panel problem . Quickly replaced panel and upgraded thermostats at our request. Gave us several options for repair/replacement. Great work from an honest, dependable guy. Won't ever even price out anyone else. I trust this guy. Don't say that about many people. If your in need of a hvac technician, look no more. Corey is your guy. Called him at 9:30 morning & he was there by noon. Took 20 min to troubleshoot the issue, parts + one hour and he was done. That's with me talking his head off. He knows his stuff. read more

Cory and the team at Buck's Heating and Air are about as first rate as you can get. My mom's heater quit on her right in a spell of 32 degree mornings in early March. Based on previous Yelp reviews, I chose Buck's to diagnose the problem. Cory came out and located the problems with her 30+ year old HVAC system, and found a way to get it back into service without depleting her savings account. He came out the next two days in a row to clean up and essentially re-wire the shoddy work of previous contractors because he knew if he left it, we'd be calling him right back with more issues. Actual customer here, who is not afraid to dole out criticism when it's deserved. Trust me when I say that I cannot imagine a better choice than this company for your HVAC needs. Thank you Cory for your hard work. read more

Cory provided Great service and diagnosis of the problem. Helped us figure out there was a leak in the coil and unlike other companies that wanted to replace the whole system, replaced only the coil, and recommended he perform maintenance on 2 units (extra cost) and replace capacitors on 2 units as well. Even with the extra cost of maintenance and 2 capacitors, and leak diagnosis - his solution to resolve the problem was accurate and saved us money. Definitely my go to guy for HVAC issues going forward. read more

Nothing but positive accolades for this company! We had some issues with our HVAC that the installation company had been unable to diagnose, much less repair. Cory's first trip out resulted in a diagnosis AND a solution. We appreciated his quick response, his honest summation of our issues and his ability to save our grandson's first visit to Texas! Cory was recently back to successfully fix an issue with our heater. He's extremely knowledgeable, pleasant and fair. We have signed up for regular maintenance with Buck's which gives us a great sense of comfort. read more

We have a 10 year old unit that was installed when the home was first built. The unit has given us problems over the years and I was advised by one AC repairman that I needed a new unit. I first called Bell Brothers and Sierra Pacific for bids. I felt like I wasn't getting the truth on what was really happening. One told me that I needed a new heater and the other said I didn't. We plan to stay in our home long term and wanted to do what was best for the long haul. I decided to get on Yelp and search for a family owned small company hoping for some truth. That is how I found Corey and Bucks Heating and Air. I loved the reviews that all of the previous customers had written and appreciated the lengthy details of their posts. Corey was honest, truthful and was fantastic to work with. With his guidance we decided to get an entire new system to include the furnace. His prices were more than fair and the product he carries is outstanding. I highly recommend Corey. So much so, I would feel comfortable just going with him and not getting extra bids. read more

My wife and I recently had our heating/air conditioning entire system replaced. We had a young man named Cory Buck do the work. We couldn't be happier with the great work ethic Cory manifested. Another exceptional quality he has is honesty. We never felt pressured in any way by Cory, in fact quite the opposite. Cory used his experience and expertise to provide the best product to meet our individual needs. My wife and I would whole heartedly recommend Buck's Heating and Air. Dr. Michael Rasler read more

I bought a house in Orangevale about a year and half ago and noticed that the 3 year old heating system did not seem to be working properly. It would only come on for part of the day then stop, then come on again the next day then stop again early afternoon. Well, this made for some cold evening with no heat. I first met Cory in June or July 2016, while he was installing a new HVAC including ducts for my daughter and her husband. It was impossible to overlook his extremely high work ethics. In addition, the system he installed is so quiet, you cannot hear it turn off and on, all you feel is warmth throughout the house. I'm jealous, my system sounds like a jet plane getting ready to take off :). It was then I mentioned my issue to Cory but It was too hot to have him come over, but did call him in November. He discovered the unit was installed without the proper evaporation venting tube to allow condensation to dry. Some earlier technician had actually realized the unit needed ventilation and instead of cutting out the PVC and installing it properly, he drilled a tiny hole into the PVC! Seriously, there are some out there who don't do the right thing, but I guess I should be happy, that's why I was getting a half day of heat. Needless to say, Cory did it right and I've had no problems since his visit, knock on wood . I will always use him for my HVAC needs. Thank you, Cory! read more

Our AC gave up the ghost in the middle of the recent heatwave, it was miserable. We called several companies but were told that appointments were a minimum of two weeks out. Fortunately, Buck's was prioritizing emergency service due to the heatwave and we were able to schedule the consultation. We thought this was a good way to take care of his customers. Cory arrived on time and evaluated our AC, which had been failing intermittently every summer. He determined that the compressor fan motor (we think..) was failing and would continue to short out. He provided us with pricing and information about several different options, and we felt that he wasn't pushing any one particular solution or manufacturer. Based on previous quotes we've received for similar work, we felt his pricing was very fair (not cheap, but you don't want cheap when it comes to AC...). Cory expressed a sensitivity to our budget and was knowledgeable about financing solutions through YGrene. In addition to the base scope he took care a few extras including painting the roof top duct, replacing our broken attic hatch, and covering a big hole left in our attic from removal of a large piece of duct work. He was very flexible and accommodating of our schedule. In total the project required two days to complete. Cory was sensitive to our needs, ordered our equipment, and completed the work within a few days of our initial meeting. His focus on customer service and satisfaction was apparent from the initial meeting. He is incredibly friendly, positive, and helpful. You know he wants you to be a lifelong customer, and he has found that with us. Highly recommend. read more

Cory is honest and enthusiastic about his work. You can tell he really cares about his customers. He told me he doesn't spend much on advertising. Frankly, he doesn't need to, just like Tesla and In N Out. Great quality and service speaks for itself. Gilmore Heating and Air made a laundry list of issues costing a ton. Cory fixed two things and charged less than a third the price and now I am warm and toasty. Bonus: he is so honest that when I asked if my bonus room needed to be rerouted, he said instead of spending over $600 to just use my big space heater for when I use that room. That honesty will keep my business until I die (hopefully surrounded by loved ones with a good view of nature). read more

I contacted Bucks after seeing a recommendation on our neighborhood app. The recommendation had an old flyer but when I mentioned it to Cory, he honored the earlier price. PS - I called them to perform a tune up on my furnace. read more

Cory is the best in the business! I can't say enough how great the customer service was from the moment I called Cory regarding an issue my grandfather was having with his furnace. My grandfather didnt have any heat on a very cold day and Cory was able to come in, diagnose the problem and get the issue fixed in no time. But what I liked about Cory was 3 things: 1) Fairly Priced 2) Very Thorough 3) Was able to communicate the issue in a way that I and my grandfather could both understand. No jargon! Those are 3 things that I think that everyone wants when they have someone come into their home to fix something. They want to make sure that the person knows what they are doing, is not trying to rip them off, will go over and beyond and is able to communicate the benefits of getting something done. Cory checked off all the boxes! Both my grandfather and I are very grateful to Buck's Heating and Air for the job they did and would reccomend them to anyone who has Heating and Air needs! Thanks again Cory! read more

I'm usually skeptical of businesses that have all 5 star reviews but it also got great reviews on NextDoor, and those are my neighbors, so I gave them a call. So glad I did. I now have a lovely wireless thermostat that I love (especially when my lap is full of cat and I need to turn the heat up or down from my recliner. Corey was thorough, honest, took time to explain everything he was testing and his recommendations, and his prices were fair. Plus, he was just a nice guy!
