Once we walked inside, I was smitten. Duffy's is that neighborhood pub you find across the pond, beautifully decorated and with a great vibe. The place was clean and our waitress was the sweetest. After getting some recommendations from the waitress, I ordered the fish and chips. These were different than what I'm used to. Instead of a big piece of fish, I two small pieces of fish. It was interesting and there was nothing special about them. The coleslaw was okay, as were the French fries. One of my friends ordered a steak (medium rare) and it was tough and overcooked. Overall, the food wasn't great, but the ambiance made up for it. Would I return to have a pint at the bar? Absolutely! Would I come hungry next time? Probably not.

It's a low-key, cool bar setting with the regulars all at the bar. We went into the next room to set at a table and dine. The bartender/waiteress was so friendly and helpful. We started with a beer, smithwicks, my fav and mozz bites. The red sauce that came with it was so tasty, thick and had chuncks of garlic throughout. Definitely made the mozz even better. For the main we ordered the fish and chips, which was okay. I enjoyed the thin yet crispy batter and the fries were good. We also had the corned beef and cabbage, which was personal fav..the corned beef was tender and juicy, the cabbaged was cooked perfectly and mash potatoes were creamy. I would stop by Kitty's for some food again.

I later learned that someone was playing pool in the back room, but I also discovered that he was another bartender who worked there, and it was his off time. This is very much a locals' bar, and for me, that's what I wanted. The ONLY downside is that their website says they have food; however, when I asked, I was informed they haven't had food since the COVID shutdowns in 2020... They DEFINITELY need to update their online presence... Otherwise, I'd HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone who wants a locals vibe.

It's exactly what you would think of when you think ghetto bar in the 'burbs. BUT, the bartenders are always super friendly, and surprisingly trustworthy. I gave the bartender my card, asked him to only give me $50 worth of booze for the night, and I had all I wanted, bought my friends plenty of drinks, and then still had enough to give him a $15 tip. Now, I advise young good looking women to NOT go alone. I'm sure it's fine, I'm sure nothing will happen, but if you want to be oggled in not a particularly pleasant way then, go alone. But, if you're in a group, it's perfect. 30 of your nearest and dearest friends, and it turns into the best place to be in in Commack/E.Npt for miles around! Cabbage soup with bison is incredible and I don't even like cabbage. The beef burger and bison burger both taste really good and I do enjoy their steak fries when they are cooked properly. My biggest grape with this place is the service. I've never had a great waitress there. It's a small place and the service is never adequate. It was my first time trying bison and I really enjoyed it. It was leaner than beef yet still had so much flavor. The corn could have had a little more on it but I think it was just a bad piece.
