Joe came out, took a look what was going on, and gave me an estimate that was identical in scope but half the price of another estimate we received so we opted to go with Eames and Sons. Joe was fantastic to work with and kept me up-to-date on scheduling of the entire process, from dropping off a trailer for the old roofing materials, dropping off the new materials, the actual day of work, etc. The Eames and Sons crew came out, did the work in a single day, and then Joe came out the next day for an inspection. Joe noticed some of the work wasn't up to the Eames and Sons standards, so he had someone from the crew come back out and redo it and then came back out the same day to check on the work again. I also noticed that some of the mortar between bricks near some of the work seemed to now be missing and he came back out on his own time to fill in the gap. Eames and Sons, and specifically Joe, definitely went out of their way to make sure our roof was perfect and that I no longer needed to worry about the leak we found. This was a fantastic experience, and I would definitely recommend others use Eames and Sons for their roofing needs. EDIT: I noticed some damage to a window screen after the dump trailer was moved away. Joe fixed the screen himself and sent someone else out to take care of some of the metal around the window as well. Eames and Sons has gone above and beyond what I expected and they have set a very high bar for any work that gets done around our house in the future.

TL;DR: finished product, excellent; experience, deplorable…read more I've been waiting awhile to write this review - our contract was signed at the end of May 2021. I've put a huge effort into accurately representing my experience with the following details and making sure I'm being fair so I hope that whoever reads this review can get a good picture. We asked 4K for an estimate because we had seen their signs in yards in the neighborhood and the work they did looked great. We had I 5 different companies bid for us, and selected 4K because of their work we saw, and because we were so impressed by our initial meeting with Nick - so impressed, in fact, that we recommended them to my parents, who also hired them. Nick explained absolutely everything, down to how the siding would be installed and we felt very comfortable. We also liked that they are a local, family-owned company. We paid half up front (materials) and then agreed to pay the balance (labor) over the next 8 months. The roof was completed first (in June 2021) and was a complete tear-off. The crew was done quickly and despite leaving nails all over my yard, they were fine. The siding and gutters are a different story. Due to other customers in the queue, they couldn't start right away. Totally understandable. I work in international logistics so I am well aware of supply chain issues with material shortages, transit times, etc., and am not unsympathetic, but we were told that all of our materials were made in the US, so I cannot explain the constant delays with our siding. We were contacted in early September and told that everything came in. The crew (different than roofers) came to start taking off our old siding and put up foam board. They only worked a few hour hours at a time and then left for the day. I am guessing that they were double scheduled and then had to go to another job. One day, a huge storm was rolling, and they were rushing around picking up their tools and loading their truck rather than addressing the exposed wood walls of my house, which hadn't yet been outfitted with new foamboard, and would have been soaked from the impending rain, and could also invite water penetrating, mold, etc. Luckily we were home and could tell them what needed to be done. Everything was finally delivered October 4th and the crew was due to start that Wednesday, weather dependent. I booked my dog to go to doggie day care that day so he wouldn't be in the way and/ or traumatized by all the noise and new people around. The crew didn't show. So I was out money for daycare. This happened a few days. After a very angry call to Nick, the crew arrived on October 7th at 2PM. Nothing got done that day. The first piece of siding went up on October 8th. Since this happened during COVID when everyone was at home, we were present to oversee everything happening (or not happening). My husband would frequently speak with the crew to get clarification or to make sure they were aware of something that had been done incompletely or incorrectly. Apparently this caused quite an issue, because then Nick contacted us and told us that we were not to communicate with them any further. This was a huge problem for us. First of all, this is the single most expensive investment that I'm making in my home and I'm paying you to do it correctly. It had better be correct. Second, why in the world would you take the time to explain to us why and how everything was to be done, only for us to observe it not being done that way? This was incredibly frustrating because the next time we did have an issue we had to contact Nick, who was often an hour + away and he had to come over to address it. This caused a ton of delays. Now to follow up on referring 4K to my family. As were so impressed with Nick's presentation over the other companies we had quote, we referred them to my dad, who also hired them to do his house. His start date kept getting pushed further and further back and there was always some sort of excuse - the wrong color came in, they had to wait to "bundle" their order with someone else's, etc. We found our very late into our installation (months later) from my dad that Nick had left the company, which explains why our calls had stopped getting returned. Our new contact was Anthony, and he cut us a check to pay for some of the money we lost on sending the dog to day care unnecessarily. My dad also told us THE ORDER FOR HIS SIDING WAS NEVER PLACED. Dad fired them and Anthony did give him his money back after several phone calls, but ultimately Dad passed away before he could see his house siding done (obviously by another company (it looks great)). At the end of the day, am I happy with how my house looks? Yes. It's gorgeous, and we've gotten many compliments from neighbors and friends. If that's the only factor that went into my review, then it would be 5 stars. Taking everything into account, our overall experience with 4K was pretty terrible.

Horrible company. Would give negative stars if possible…read more Due to space limitations we can't give full details or list all the problems, lies, or unprofessional business practices encountered but we'll give the highlights. Contracted with Hinckley Roofing to do tear off and roof replacement on small house. Subcontracted crew only tarped front of house and left other sides exposed. Majority of shingles and debris were thrown off sides and back, not front. Left excessive black marks on vinyl siding and large scratches/gouges on aluminum window trim where shingles hit. Only the front looked mostly okay because of tarp. Siding in very good condition prior to damage they caused. Showed us picture of front with tarp and lied about the rest being tarped until we shared video from security cameras showing shingles raining down against the siding. Their solution was to scrub each streak and power wash the siding, destroying the surface so there were glaring shiny and dull patches alternating across sides and back of house. This was unacceptable to us. Met with them again and were told if we gave it 6 months we wouldn't be able to tell; it would even out. Gave it 6 months and it looks worse. Roof cost just over $9,200. Bids from siding companies were all higher than that amount but Hinckley would only offer half the cost in credit for damages. Said anything more would be unfair to them. When we didn't accept their offer, we were told they'd put lien on house and we could work it out with their insurance company then. Deadline for filing valid lien had passed after so much time but they would file anyway. The only way we could get lien removed then would be to hire attorney and file a lawsuit to have lien invalidated. We opted to take their low offer and be done with them.

The home we purchased needed a new roof and also had a ventilation fan to exhaust air. When we hired Glenn, he recommended to have Ridge vents installed. He quotes 4 sheets of plywood incase of any soft spots or damage area's that may need replaced. We asked to have the fan removed "covered over" with the supplied plywood, which he assured us that would be no problem. He promised 10 Year Workmanship warranty. My home has been extremely cold since he installed the roof which was installed late 2024. On the day of installation, his supplier ABC did not show up at the time he told us. When it did show up, one of his workers who was from Guatemala, had an accident occur on my roof. On top of the accident, one of the men's wife with a newborn baby, was in my backyard nursing the baby. They consistently had to use my restroom. In addition to the roof I added gutter guards which Glenn himself installed. Glenn showed up twice to my home. The start date of the install, and the final day to collect his check. When they were done I went up to check my gutter guards which were a premium gutter-guards and noticed how sloppy they were installed. He blamed my gutters for why they looked the way they did. Never the less as a good gesture, he promised he would come back and install gutter clips as he said ice may strain the front stretch of my gutters above my garage. This never happened. His workers left a fullsheet of plywood and extra shingles, which they said they would come back for. They are still there. He has never once kept his word. He consistently will say he will arrive on a date and never shows up. In August 2025, I noticed that the box fan casing, which was supposed to be removed, was still there. Again, he promised a date and again never showed. This past week Wednesday Feb 25th ,2026 I had to go into my attic to install fiber lines for my home network, and to my surprise, the box vent was never covered left completely opened to the elements! He never removed the box vent which caused major frustration ; however I reached out to him yet again! Providing photo evidence of this. The insulation of my attic is wet. From 2024-2026 snow, rain, roofing debris, insects, birds, squirrels were able to nest in my attic. He responded to my text this past Wednesday February 25th, 2026. He would come either Friday February 27th or Monday March 2nd. Guess what! Nothing. He ignored my text today on when we can expect him. I have all of the proof. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HIM!

He thought the water might not have been escaping, and instead, pooled up causing a belly in the flex tubing. Over time, he wondered if the water released back toward the fan and settled in around the fan, causing staining on the ceiling. He fixed it but said that may not be the root cause but to reach back out if the problem seemed to get worse. It's been about a year and the problem wasn't fixed. I reached back out and he came out the same day to try and figure out the problem. He decided to replace all of the tubing in both exhaust fans with an insulated tubing (thinking condensation was the issue). He, once again, said to reach out if it wasn't fixed. BOTH TIME, HE WANTED NO MONEY FOR HIS TIME. He said it was a very simple job and not much time. I wouldn't let him leave without taking money, but with companies charging lots of money for estimates, it's amazing to see a company willing to go to this extent - actually do the job and not ask for money says a lot about him and the company. It's great having a company you trust for home repairs. I won't need another number - and you shouldn't either!!
