Very nice and clean campground except... I was sleeping the first night when I woke up to a putrid sour smell that reeked like vomit. Not just a slight hint in the air, it was SO STRONG. I actually felt nauseated from the smell. I had no clue what it could be until I later found out that the park keeps the dumpsters not even 100 feet from the first few campsites (including mine)... And don't think that the smell is just a one time thing, no. it's every day and every night, about every 10-20 min you get a WAFT of sour park trash. It is so strong and terrible I can't even sit outside and enjoy a campfire with my family and friends for more than 30 min without needing to go inside... I'm sure the smell is not even noticeable at farther sites, but the first few when you come in are AWFUL. Not to mention the sound of the rollercoasters test driving at 3 AM along with trucks slamming and beeping all night. so unless you somehow lost your sense of hearing and smell, I would recommend skipping the campsite and booking the hotel.

Robin passed away, and Joann (his wife) took over till the grandmother passed. At that time Robin's brothers took over, and simply were not friendly, and it basically lost all appeal after that. Being friendly as a campground owner is a necessity, and if you charge the same price as way better options in the area, expect that people will go elsewhere. Bottom line: Over priced compared to cheaper, BETTER alternatives in the area.

When we arrived, we were told there was an issue with the spot we had reserved so they would be putting us in a different spot. That spot would not work for our needs so they offered a different site again. While driving to the new spot, we saw someone else camping in the spot we had initially reserved! We tried but The spot offered didn't really fit our rig so we just decided to move on. They were very kind and offered a refund. The grounds looked well kept and peaceful. I know it can be difficult to hire "good help" but it's quite frustrating when they are disorganized in a fashion that creates these types of issues for the customers.

Everyone works as a team and they take pride in there work. They have 2 pools and a new splash pad. They also have bicycles to ride and a zip line for small kids. Also included is putt putt golf, jumping pillows, basketball courts and 4 playgrounds for kids to play on. They have a big store and cafe that serves food and icecream and they also have cabins and brand new yurts to rent for those that don't own there own campers. I cannot enough good things about this place.

We stayed in the Badger cabin, which was not to disappoint. The welcome center seemed brand new and was really well done, with a small museum, plus access to the campground and tons of cabins available to rent. The hiking here is incredible. We did the Hemlock Gorge Trail, and it was just the right level of challenge while still being super enjoyable. The scenery was beautiful the entire way. I also highly recommend checking out the Little and Big Lyons waterfalls. It made for a great loop trail and was definitely a highlight. The park itself is very well maintained. We visited right after some heavy winds, so there were quite a few downed trees, but maintenance was already out there actively clearing and fixing things, which was impressive to see. Overall, such a beautiful park and a trip full of unforgettable memories.

Plenty of parking for cars, boat trailers, and golf carts. We were there on a Friday afternoon, so it wasn't super crowded and everyone was kind of spread out across the beach. We saw a blue heron, and my friend fell asleep on her towel. We also went back to hike some of the North Loop trail. A good time was had by all, minus the incident with the poorly behaved off leash golden retriever. There's almost always one of those, though..... Note that the beach is not technically dog friendly, but there were a few there.

We saw some great wildlife on our walk - turtles, water snakes, and raccoons. There are some rougher latrine style restrooms available near the beach. The park location is great, near the famous glacial grooves.
