Their rates page shows that rates are very reasonable- back is site is $50 daily, pull thru is $60…read more Nothing on the rates page about holiday rates. Awesome! I go to book and $140-$190 a night!!!!! Really??? There is no contact information on the webpage that I could find. I was looking to book over the 4th of July (which they have many, many sites available, I wonder why?) I'm sure it's a fine park, but a bait and switch and triple the price that you advertise is not a place I would stay.

Location, Location, Location! We have stayed in several cottages over the years in different RV parks and this had the nicest furnishings hands down. The plates, cups, silverware, coffee maker, oven, stove, and microwave are top-notch. There is a full-size fridge with an ice maker, and even a washer, and dryer! The beds are really comfortable and cozy. I even slept a night in the bottom bunk to try it out and I slept like a baby, and the bunks are big enough for an adult to sleep in. Bonus! The loft has a queen size bed up there as well for extra guests. The ceiling is lower (since it is a loft) but totally a sweet space for the kids to tuck away in. Overall, the cottage was super clean and tidy! We absolutely loved our stay, from morning coffee on the quaint porch to the sunset watching from the break wall in the evenings, the peace and quiet here is perfect! The staff at Bayfront is friendly and answered all our questions in a timely manner. We truly felt like they treated us like family. Sandusky is a great place to visit in the spring and summer especially if you like to boat, fish, or are a thrill seeker (Cedar Point), or if you simply want to relax and read a book... this is the place to be! We will definitely be back!

This was our 5th stay in 3 years. It appears to have changed ownership a couple of times, but…read morethings still seem to be operating pretty well with a few changes recently. They have simplified the entrance/exit making it easier to come and go. The pool was in great shape this time. But the splash pad is not turned on yet. I did see where they added new jump pads, one normal size and one huge! This is right next to a new zip line and the kids seem to love both. I decided to splurge on one of their deluxe patio sites since this was my birthday/Father's day present. We got a very nice site back in the BOONDOCKS area which is a nice secluded area not too far from everything else. It does have a nice shower that is ADA compliant, but my only suggestion would be to put a handicap sign up so more abled people can use the others first. Since I was splurging this week, we did take advantage of firewood and ice delivery and they were quick and courteous. I did have an opportunity to reach out for help with their management when an unexpected storm came through. We have a pop up that once you setup and put out the awning, its difficult to get down in a hurry. I used their text number and requested a small step ladder to help me get the awning down and they quickly responded. That was a big help. All in all it was a great stay. My only real issue is with reserving a deluxe patio site, some have propane grills and others have charcoal grills and I don't think you know till you get there, so we had to run our for charcoal.

The wagon ride was cancelled on Saturday with out a notice. We walked on the trail with the kids but it smelled terrible like sewage and there are no trail markers so we had to back track a few times. One trail took us to a house. The sun catcher paint event was not well put together. They were gone in 1 minute and not enough paint for everyone. Walked to feed the animals and didn't realize it cost a quarter to feed. Absolutely no cash on us. And we lost a headlamp we bought in the store, went to buy another the morning we left and told we were not allowed in the store and it was closed for an emergency. For the amount of money we paid just expected a little more being the holiday weekend. Don't see us coming back. Likes: bathrooms were nice, kids liked playground and jump pad, the paddle boat and life jackets, patio furniture at our site.

The laundry and shower facilities were spotlessly clean, a testament to the high standards of maintenance upheld by the staff. Speaking of the staff, they were exceptional. From the maintenance crew to the friendly faces at reception, everyone went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and safe environment. The grounds were beautifully maintained, creating a serene atmosphere perfect for relaxation. Safety was a top priority here, which was reassuring. As a dog owner, I appreciated how dog-friendly the camp was, with ample space for walking and playing with pets. This is a work in progress, so you'll see the staff doing daily maintenance and upgrades. One of the standout moments was when I faced a medical emergency during my stay. After being released from the hospital, the owner and staff were incredibly supportive and accommodating, making sure my recovery period was as smooth as possible. Their compassion and assistance were invaluable during a challenging time. Leafy Oaks RV Park's proximity to Cedar Point was another bonus, making it convenient to enjoy the attractions nearby while still enjoying a peaceful campground setting. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Leafy Oaks RV Park and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming, well-maintained campground with outstanding hospitality. Stay with confidence and tell Joan "Dan sent me."

If it wasn't for a permanent guest on pulling in, we would've badly damaged the motorhome with an overhang limb. We arrived at night and were given a spot for a week. We were towing a jeep and could not even turn into our spot, even though we had rented a pull through spot. And then the spot was not level, and there was mud all around, which got tracked into our motorhome. It seemed awful expensive being that this is the off-season and we stayed for a week. The campsite is the closest one to our daughter's house and we may have to come again, but it's not a place that we really like the only really positive note was that we could walk our dog in their wooded area which has paths and it is fairly large.

My review is based on my annual experience over the past eight years. This year, several of my…read moreconcerns appear to have been addressed. While it's too late for the mass departure of annual members this year, I hope this signals that Cross Creek is heading in the right direction. There are three certainties in life: death, taxes, and Cross Creek raising its rates every year. After eight years of annual camping, our family--along with eight others--made the decision not to renew. Over the years at Cross Creek, we've built lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories, but with skyrocketing prices and the campground's steady decline, we were left with no choice. The turning point came when Cross Creek was acquired by Apple Brook. Almost immediately, staffing was reduced, and the amenities that once made it a premier destination were sold off. What was once a AAA-rated resort quickly deteriorated into a glorified state park. The signs of decline were evident: flowerbeds overgrown with weeds, neglected campsites, and unattended weekend lots. Some areas were so overgrown last year with weeds, it was hard to tell where the gravel ended and the grass began. Safety also became a growing concern during the off season as campers weren't vetted and transients sneaked into the park freely to use the restrooms, showers, washers and dryers. The weekend activities that once defined the campground--such as Harry Potter weekends, haunted houses, escape rooms, and top-tier live music--were replaced with rock painting, karaoke, and second rate bands. When I reached out to the front office two years ago to express my concerns and request a conversation with the owner, I was told he had no interest in speaking with us. The message was clear: with a long waitlist, we were replaceable. When I brought up the decline in activities and amenities, I was told that it was up to the annual campers to organize them--an absurd response. If you're considering Apple Brook, know that it is not the Cross Creek of the past. The AAA-rated resort is gone, replaced by a contractor campground with annual rate hikes and diminishing activities. If you're looking for a seasonal or annual spot, be prepared for a large price increase each year with fewer and fewer amenities. Apple Brook has taken its loyal annual and seasonal campers for granted, and as a result, eight families have either left or will leave in just the next few months. My hope with this review is that Apple Brook management sees this and takes action to restore Cross Creek to the incredible destination it once was.
