I recently took a road trip with my daughter out of town. Unfortunately after getting caught up in the adventure of spending the day shopping I locked my keys inside of my car. Being an hour from home I had to utilize my AAA membership for assistance. The young man who came to our rescue had a 35 minute drive to reach our destination as well. Upon arriving I apologized for his trouble as I was terribly embarrassed for the mishap. He, on the other hand, was very polite and courteous and stated that he enjoyed the little road trip. :) He also reassured me that he felt situations like this happen for a reason and that my daughter and I were obviously not suppose to be traveling at this time. I felt that this was not only a reassuring gesture of kindness but also one of comfort and faith coming from a total stranger. God's blessings show up in so many ways!!! We stopped for local information (especially a map of the area) and were greeted graciously by two staff members who were most helpful - in fact, after exploring the well stocked (with local and state maps and tour books and more) store we discovered additional items that will assist in planning future excursions. When we arrived at St. Augustine we were directed to 16th St. but no hotel there. Of any kind. After driving around we spotted a postman who verified that we were not in the right area. a call to the hotel front desk gave us the correct address, a St. Hwy. 16 and our GPS got us the rest of the way. Cruising thru Miami we were to take Hwy 821 and again did not find that no. but took Hwy 824 which was correct. No 82 visible anywhere. Other than those 2 incidents the trip was uneventful. I use AAA for all my travel needs. Yes I still use trip ticks!!! Proverbial instructions for dummies/way better than GPS for me. I love the pre-trip advice I get that prepares me for what to expect when I get there.(like walking the steep hills of San Francisco) All the help given with excellent customer service skills!!!
