We mentioned the things wrong with the cabin when we turned in the keys and they assured us that the employees would be hearing about our experience and that it would be taken care of. We also were given a voucher towards another stay in the future! They even thanked us for letting them know so they could ensure that it would be cleaner next time! If we didn't get the response we did, we probably wouldn't have went back, but they made a bad situation into good! Thank you!

Except for the ridiculously small swimming pool, it's a wonderful place. Unfortunately, now new management has shattered our future dreams of enjoy this place. Whoever these new individuals are (as they have never had the decency to ever show face or introduce themselves in any way) have so far not made a good impression. They've increased the prices astronomically for seasonals and claimed to have made many improvements, but other than a new gate entrance, and a few wooden docks, we haven't seen much. Many seasonals that have enjoyed it here for years, now have no other choice but to leave because it is no longer even remotely affordable. So many have already left with many more right behind them before long. All the fun and dreams we had with our family, friends and grandkids must now come to an end. We understand prices nationwide have increased, but this campground always functioned well under the previous owner. We expect small increases annually but by the hundreds. This is a campground, not the Taj Mahal! Other campgrounds are just as nice and nowhere near the high cost of this one. Many of us wonder if these "mystery people" are not just doing this intentionally to make seasonals leave so they can just turn the property into something else. Who knows?? Sad and disappointing.

I enjoyed canoeing, kayaking and fishing. They have different sections. The "L" section in front of the lake is beautiful. So is the other side. There are other sections on the other side a little further from the lake. There is a section on a hill and one in the woods. Depending on the section you decIde to stay as a seasonal would be the price you pay. I've been on the water and in the other section and they are both good. They're are seasonal campers that have been there for many years. Sites do become available at times. I suggest staying there a weekend to check it out. Especially during one of the planned activities like the Poker Run, Ice Cream Social. Please contact the campground for a list of activities (I know it's subject to change every year). The owners Chad and Laura are the best business owners you will ever meet. They were campers themselves before they purchased. They are fun and fair. Great water pressure, good electrical service, and great sewer hook ups. There are a lot of seasonals here, however with so many seasonals, you would expect it to be noisy during the summer and it's not at all. I asked for a site where there weren't a lot of trees and they were very accommodating. The site that we had wasn't as level as I would've liked it and probably I would've given them five stars if the sites were little more level.

But my husband and I just did not have the best stay. We were tent camping and we were down in the little valley for just small campers and tents. Signs everywhere saying don't park your car down there and we're following the rules but there were still a lot of people who parked their cars and apparently the rules just aren't really enforced. The dance floor was a lot of fun and they had a food truck there which was great for getting a good meal without having to use our own food. Had to really be wary of the golf carts as they are kind of just everywhere and zooming all throughout the place. Maybe borderline dangerous at times especially after people have had drinks. Rules also say no golf carts after dark but rules just aren't really enforced here I guess. We spent a lot of time at the pool and we were with a couple of friends but there were so many men just staring at us all day. It was just a bit creepy. Granted there were some friendly people of course but all those little things I mentioned just kind of put it downer on it. Staff was friendly at the office and this place really did look clean and was well kept. But just a couple of little things that bugged me.

We slept on the ground in sleeping bags. There were a lot of people making noise until about 12:30am, playing music, singing, talking and yelling. The showers were not great but fine for a campground. I went to bed around 2am when everything had died down. Around 7am, some banging started like there might be a shooting range nearby. In the morning, I explored the camping area and got some exercise. So much better than a hotel gym! I ran around, shot some hoops, and bounced on their "jumping pillow" which was exactly what I needed before a day of driving. And it was so much cheaper than a hotel room.

My complaint is getting charged for five nights when I only stayed for three. I had made an original reservation for five nights, but my plans changed and I only needed three. I called in advance to let them know of this, but they said that since the reservation was for five nights, they had to charge for five nights. I maybe could understand if it was a big holiday weekend or even a weekend for that matter, but it was during the week and the place was deserted. Just remember when you make a reservation here you are getting charged for it! Total rip off!
