Absolutely loved this place. Quaint and historic in a beautiful little village. The food was amazingly good. My wife especially raved about the fried bologna. Really hefty portions will for sure fill you up. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Service was excellent my coffee never hit bottom before a refill. Highly recommend you stop in and dine here.

Came back to have breakfast and am thoroughly disappointed. This is what they call eggs Benedict with their self proclaimed "famous " hollandaise sauce, oh please. Take a look at the picture, whoever sent that out should be fired. The "BIG" breakfast isn't even big enough for a child let alone an adult. Two eggs suppose to be three, bacon was burnt and tiny, sausages were good and the ham had a good taste just sliced paper thin and barely any hash browns. Service is so so, at least the waitress we had was so so. The one taking care of the people behind us is was good. No straws given, no napkins given and for being a new restaurant it seemed as if the silverware was used. If you don't mind flies buzzing around as you're trying to eat you'll love it here.

Checked out the new diner in town over the holiday weekend. For being a new business on a holiday weekend, everything was great from the service, food, and atmosphere. They had high chairs to accommodate children which was nice. The meats were delicious from the bacon, sausage, and ham. A great addition to the thumb.

Amazing food, great service, and an awesome atmosphere! I had the ham steak special with dearbon ham and it was nothing short of perfection!

Cute, clean diner with great food, great service and very reasonable prices. I will be back every time we are in Port Hope.

Food was really good. It is a very cute place. The waitress was a little discombobulated though, other than that everything was great.

We were greeted promptly, our order was taken when we were ready and the food arrived piping hot. Our coffee was filled without asking. These qualities aren't always present with many establishments. Heard the words please, thank you and you're welcome more times than I can count. Great staff. I ordered their most popular breakfast item: corned beef hash. It was perfect. Homemade fried potatoes, ample chunks of meat and eggs over medium that brought together all the flavors. The toast, rye, was yummy. They also have homemade white bread for toast, homemade donuts and cinnamon rolls. Again, another hallmark of a great diner: good cooks and bakers. My husband had the daily special: 2 eggs, meat, potatoes and toast. He said it was perfect. Walt's will be our go-to breakfast spot when near Caseville

There was a table of guys who clearly eat there every morning and it was fun hearing them joke with each other and with our server. It pains me to leave a mere two-star review but I couldn't find much to like here. The quaint…read moreambience, friendly service (we were one of the first guests to arrive on a Friday morning mid-May) and fresh brewed decaf were the highlights. The food, which is most important, was a big disappointment. I am a cinnamon roll connoisseur and was so excited to try the rolls that past Yelpers raved about. They were out of caramel today so we ordered the grilled roll with pecans and homemade buttercream frosting. It looked dry and tasted even drier. Barely warm, flourey and tasteless. The frosting was the best part. The menu of choices looks wonderful and diverse for a small cafe. I was delighted to see shrimp and grits. The skillet was very small, the food was hot (a plus) but it was heavy on the grits, which lacked flavor and space on shrimp (only 4), sausage and sauce. I ate the toppings with half the grits and left the rest. My husband ordered the hoagie sandwich with hash browns. His comment was "a lot of bread and minimal filling" with "luke warm" hash browns that were more spongy than crispy. It's hard to go wrong with breakfast, but somehow Lazy Toaster has missed the mark. The concept is fun, the menu is great, yet the recipes and preparation could use some major improvements. The tab ($41 for two) was not bad, but was high for the quality. We liked the decor yet felt the cleanliness was lacking (sticky floors and no paper towels in the bathroom). A breakfast place in East Tawas is a plus; I hope this cafe commits to some improvements and stays around.

The service is good and the food quality is good. Probably the only complaint is that the hashbrowns aren't brown enough, but that's my particular taste. On busy days, I recommend getting there before 9 o'clock, it gets pretty busy and it's small so the weight can be a little bit long. I wish they had a few more healthy options. I like avocado toast but there's is lacking. It's just a piece of toast with some avocado spread on top, no seasoning, very bland. Also kind of small.

The Cheese Curds (which should be called cheese cubes) were yummy and had great cheese pull. Our cashier (I wish I would have gotten his name) was warm and friendly. I wish every worker in the restaurant was like him. The Bad: Becky, our waitress. She had such a sour personality. When we ordered a kid drink (which is stated on the menu) she looked at me like I had 2 heads before saying "oh, a small drink." Kid drinks are literally listed on the menu. When the food was brought out, my husband tried to help by grabbing the plate, instead she moaned at him to move his phone (our daughter doesn't talk and communicates through text, which is why it was out). Becky would drop off refills without saying a word. She never bothered to offer us dessert, which we were going to get. My husband and I have 30 years combined experience working in the tourism/hospitality industry, and this is just uncool. I will also mentioned that my daughter ordered a Meatball sub since meatballs are her favorite food. She told us they were chewy, and not very good. We left conflicted. For the most part, the food was excellent, but they should be ashamed of Becky.
