    Deluxe Lefty's deli burger
    Brandon M.

We ate outside in a covered patio area that used to be a drive-in. My friends and I had burgers, fries, curly fries and onion rings along with a pop. I had the Lefty's super deli burger done deluxe style with onion rings. Both were good to very good. Both my friends said there burgers were good but one said the regular fries were soggy. Inside is the classic 50's dinner set up. Outdoor seating is low top patio tables and picnic tables. I can't recall if they had wifi. Good, friendly service. Pricey. My meal with drink was $21.19 before tip. Side lot parking. I may return when I'm back on the area or try to find a spot with a little better price point.

    Wall decor that is fun

Good food, nice daily menu, large portions. Closed at 7pm, but lots of locals. We had the Special: wet burrito and nachos Kids had foot long Coney (not on kids menu) and fries and kids cheeseburger (double burger).

We both ordered burgers. The presentation was surprisingly good (this is a diner and I expected burgers in the plastic basket with grease papers). The burgers were excellent! Although two burgers, onion rings, and two drinks were $35 - thankfully, everything was tasty. Service was great. We traveled with our two dogs and sat outside. Saved this place so we can go back.

Cute retro diner with good food and service. One of the few places open around here on a Monday morning, too, which was greatly appreciated. The breakfast I had was great. The biscuits and gravy were tasty with nice fluffy biscuits. Their bacon is thick cut, and cooked just right.

Outdoor seating in the back made me feel more comfortable with COVID distancing measures. Servers had bandanas to wear but didn't really use them, so they aren't strict about safety. They are, however, very attentive with service and the quality of food is better than most roadside diners and fast-food options, so a solid 4 stars, but I do wish there were some additional precautions observed. Ask for the hand-cut fries

Carryout lunch today from Lefty's. Burger, fries, Cole slaw - all very good! Quick, friendly service. I'll be back!

We were greeted promptly, our order was taken when we were ready and the food arrived piping hot. Our coffee was filled without asking. These qualities aren't always present with many establishments. Heard the words please, thank you and you're welcome more times than I can count. Great staff. I ordered their most popular breakfast item: corned beef hash. It was perfect. Homemade fried potatoes, ample chunks of meat and eggs over medium that brought together all the flavors. The toast, rye, was yummy. They also have homemade white bread for toast, homemade donuts and cinnamon rolls. Again, another hallmark of a great diner: good cooks and bakers. My husband had the daily special: 2 eggs, meat, potatoes and toast. He said it was perfect. Walt's will be our go-to breakfast spot when near Caseville

There was a table of guys who clearly eat there every morning and it was fun hearing them joke with each other and with our server. We just missed the Cheeseburger in Caseville festival but the decor had lots of funny nods to the Jimmy Buffet vibe.

The quaint…read moreambience, friendly service (we were one of the first guests to arrive on a Friday morning mid-May) and fresh brewed decaf were the highlights. The food, which is most important, was a big disappointment. I am a cinnamon roll connoisseur and was so excited to try the rolls that past Yelpers raved about. They were out of caramel today so we ordered the grilled roll with pecans and homemade buttercream frosting. It looked dry and tasted even drier. Barely warm, flourey and tasteless. The frosting was the best part. The menu of choices looks wonderful and diverse for a small cafe. I was delighted to see shrimp and grits. The skillet was very small, the food was hot (a plus) but it was heavy on the grits, which lacked flavor and space on shrimp (only 4), sausage and sauce. I ate the toppings with half the grits and left the rest. My husband ordered the hoagie sandwich with hash browns. His comment was "a lot of bread and minimal filling" with "luke warm" hash browns that were more spongy than crispy. It's hard to go wrong with breakfast, but somehow Lazy Toaster has missed the mark. The concept is fun, the menu is great, yet the recipes and preparation could use some major improvements. The tab ($41 for two) was not bad, but was high for the quality. We liked the decor yet felt the cleanliness was lacking (sticky floors and no paper towels in the bathroom). A breakfast place in East Tawas is a plus; I hope this cafe commits to some improvements and stays around.

Accompanying hash browns were equally well made and tasty where just the right amount of grease/butter was used to make my food (no greasy food here!). This all too often is an issue you see with these small breakfast centric restaurants up north that I was so pleased not to see here at the Lazy Toaster. Relative to the restaurant and staff, Lazy Toaster has a nice comfortable rustic "Up north" feel to it which I enjoyed where the staff was super friendly with great follow up throughout the meal and and where they are definately on top of their game when it comes to Coffee top-offs. Nice! Overall, this is definately one of the better breakfast spots in the greater Tawas/Oscoda/Harrisville area and is now on my short list of go to restaurants in the area.
