Really great local diner in the Marlette area. They've got a little bit of everything for you to eat here. We love to come for breakfast but they have great lunch/dinner options. I have tried the skillets, omelets, Greek salad, soups, coneys and fries and everything is really good. There is really something here for everyone. The servers are all friendly, the locals love this place (great sign) and the gas station next door if you need to fill up make this place a great area go to. Small town diners are more my thing then chain restaurants. Don't let the outside of the place deter you from coming in! Honestly, that's what kept me away for a bit because I wasn't sure what it would be like, but I'm glad I finally gave it a shot! read more

Went in there for first time in 4 yrs had a patty melt with French Fries!!!! So looking forward to my sandwich, but when the plate came there were so many French Fries were so hot and looked so good ate them first.....so asked the waitress for a to go box picked up my patty melt to put in the box because I had eaten the fries first and put one half in picked up the second have a a 4 inch long hair dark hair under it!!!!!! Horrible response from the business and they didn't even want to take the sandwich back after seeing the 4 inch long hair!!!!!!! They finally took it off the bill, I have blonde hair and Williams hair is white.....no one had on a hard, one guy was bald.....but the other guy no hat and dark hair......nasty,nasty,nasty!!!!! This has been our go to local eatery for several years. Never disappointed in any of our choices. Great Greek salads and geros, very good fish and seasoned fries are always so hot and delicious. You can not go wrong at hilltop. read more

What a surprising gem! We visited this establishment on a whim after finding nothing else open in the sleepy town of Marlette, MI. The breakfast was very good. Good portions. Prices weren't necessarily a bargain- about average for a greasy spoon diner of the sort. Service was outstanding!! Will I be back? Most definitely. read more

Hometown families and great hometown food. I only get the opportunity eat at Hilltop Coney Diner when I'm hunting in the Marlette area. It's always a special treat though. The service is amazing and the people are so genuine and friendly. I personally Enjoy talking to the waitresses and managers because they make me feel like it's my town as well. The homemade apple pie and bakery area at the front register is always full of tempting goodies. The parking lot is huge and the fueling station for truckers and cars in and out of town is convenient. The gas and Diesel prices a good as well. The place is white glove clean from the tables, dining area, kitchen and bathroom. The food is amazing and the portions are plus sized. Leftovers is always a plus in my book. The major reason for a lower score was due to the size of the actual hotdog. I believe it was the smallest hotdog I've ever been served in a standard bun. It was about 3/4 of an inch shorter than the actual bun on each side. Also the circumference was extremely small as well. I'd think if a place markets themself as a coney diner, then at the very least they'd not skimp on the hotdog. All that being said, the sauce used was good; However, if they diced the onions smaller then it would improve the coney. Sorry for bringing it up again but I just can't help but stress how disappointed I was with the size of the hotdog. For $2.99 I'd expect a standard size hotdog in my bun. Visited with a coworker for lunch, no frills diner with nice flavor and huge servings, I had the chicken gumbo soup which was hot and full of chicken, the flavors were very authentic, also ordered the gyro pita, had to eat it with a knife and fork sue to the fact that it was fully stuffed with meat in addition to the lettuce and tomato, my coworker had the same soup and a grilled cheese sandwich that was gone within a minute, we were in and out in less than half hour, so the service is fast and efficient read more

Don't be put off by this small diner's exterior. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast. Great diner. Attentive staff. My husband and I ordered the Spinach and Feta Omelette with added tomato and mushrooms and tomatoes. They were delicious. Chock full of the items we ordered. Hash browns were crispy as ordered. May return for lunch in our way back to our cottage. Reason I gave it 4/5 stars is that the spinach was chopped frozen; fresh would have been better. read more

Thank you for taking such diligent time on my Coney dog. NOT. I love to swim in my food when I eat it. NOT. It looks like someone literally pooped on this hotdog, try to clean things up, a bit. I've always had a very good experience, but I'm giving a 3 star rating simply because of the quality of some of the menu items. From my experience, the breakfast items, burgers, and gyros are all delicious and are exactly why I keep coming back to eat here. However, I haven't been impressed with anything else on the menu. However, the staff is very likeable and attentive, and they make great meal recommendations if you ask. Also, it can be very difficult to be seated if you have a party of more than 4. The staff tries to be as accommodating as possible, but they can't help if there just isn't room for a bigger party. read more

This is by far the best food in Marlette, that has more choices than pizza. Becky and Kathy are the best morning wait staff, that my husband and I ever have had. They make sure your coffee is never empty and your food is good and exactly the way you ordered it!!! Breakfast is our choice!!! You eat breakfast here and we are never hungry the rest of the day!!!! Great place for pilots, about a mile walk from the Marlette airport. The country omelette was as big as my plate, very good and more than I could eat. Nice decor and very clean. Service was prompt and courteous. Adding Hilltop to my list of fly-out restaurants. read more

We stopped here for lunch after a trip to Marlette to pick up our car from the local Chevy dealership. Our salesman, Greg, told us we would get a great meal for the price here. He was right. The corned beef sandwich my husband chose was loaded with meat, swiss cheese and was perfectly toasted. I ended up deciding on the grilled chicken gyro. The pita bread was soft and warm and stuffed with grilled chicken. We shared some batter style french fries and left the Hilltop knowing that we wouldn't be needing dinner that night. I absolutely enjoy going here. It's a great place to enjoy a wide variety of food. I generally like getting whatever is on special especially when it's not a normal menu item. I've eaten quite a few different things off the menu and I'm never disappointed. Well except that one time they had crinkle cut fries, those were gross.
