Very upfront, returned calls, cleaned up, did a great job at a very reasonable price.

I worked with Chew Bittel Associates on two different exterior renovation projects over the years,…read moreand both times my main point of contact was Ed Herbst. Ed was always responsive, knowledgeable, and great to work with. Recently, I tried reaching out to Chew Bittel again and was surprised to find that the company had shut down and their phone number had been sold to another contractor. After some digging, I discovered that Ed is now with Viking Exteriors in Ivyland, PA. If you're looking for someone with experience and integrity in home exterior work, I'd definitely recommend reaching out to Viking Exteriors and asking for Ed.

I was a new homeowner who bought a house built in 1857 that had the original standing seam roof. Ed was patient, informative, and thorough, and the crew restored it to its former glory. Fast forward to this week... I relocated to a more modern home and noticed several points of water entry around the house. Every single one of the local siding contractors wanted nothing to do with small repairs - they all tried to sell me $50,000 worth of new siding. Thinking that Chew Bittel wouldn't travel all the way to my new location, I crossed my fingers and called Ed who remembered exactly who I was, and he came right out. The crew repaired the issues at an incredibly fair price and even returned after the work was done to touch up a spot or two. Chew Bittel's level of commitment to their clients is unparalleled and I couldn't be more thankful for their help. You have a client for life. Thank you to Ed, Tiffany, and the rest of the Chew Bittel family!!

You wanna…read moretalk fast, the owner dave got back to me a short time later after calling him ,leaving a message and explaining my situation. Couldn't be any more of a nice guy but that isnt why I think hes literally the best guy for your job. Every other roofer wants to up sell and make you pay for things that you may not need or could be purchased for cheaper. That wasnt the case with me because my roof isnt old enough to need replacement but it was leaking to my surprise. In one area only and just when it downpours. Rather then selling me a new roof he came to my house inspected the area found a small hole in my flashing and fixed it. I asked how much and he said nothing. Took 5 mins. You really think im gonna call someone else when it comes time to replace. Definitely would recommend this company to anyone who wants an honest roofer.

I know what I'm doing and I know what I'm looking at and I explain to them that this was not done right the solution was to put a little bit of caulk behind the gutters or what's that gonna do? All that's gonna do is run into my house which it's done go somewhere else this place should be out of busines

Don't use All States Roofing Contractors. You will regret it!!!…read more They recommended installing a new scupper drain box to fix a roof leak. The owner then left the country and sent his father to do the work. Afterward, I received a call from a third party claiming to be the contractor, threatening to remove the scupper unless payment was made immediately -- completely unacceptable and alarming. The repair failed. I still have active water intrusion, and it has caused interior damage to my home. This company showed a serious lack of professionalism, oversight, and accountability. The workmanship did not resolve the problem, and the billing tactics were concerning. Homeowners - proceed with extreme caution! Verify who is performing the work, how payments are handled, and whether the company is operating to proper standards. ----------------------------- Your response contains multiple inaccuracies ... First, your claim that you "tried calling me multiple times" is false. You never called me. I have no missed calls, voicemails, or call logs from you after the work. What I do have is a saved voicemail left on 4/11/25, immediately after the work was performed. Second, your statement about nonpayment is also false. I paid a deposit on 4/04/25 and made final payment on 4/18/25. Both payments were made by credit card, and I have full documentation proving this. At no point was payment withheld "for over a month," and suggesting otherwise is simply untrue. Third, the call threatening to remove the scupper came from a third party claiming to be associated with you, and it occurred after the work was completed and while payment had already been made. Regardless of how you now characterize it, that call was inappropriate and alarming, and it happened under your company's name. Finally, the scupper installation you recommended did not resolve the leak. I continue to have water intrusion, and it has caused interior damage. Shifting blame to "the rest of the roof" does not change the fact that the specific repair you proposed and performed failed to correct the issue it was meant to fix. I am stating verifiable facts, supported by payment records and saved voicemail evidence. Any implication that I am misrepresenting events is incorrect. If you wish to discuss this further, it should begin with an acknowledgment of these facts.

Professional all the way through. Problem with the job? it happens on rare occassion, , but remedied swiftly and to my satisfaction. Aside from the work they did, they also are strong community partners, giving thousands to local charities, which is important to me as I like to support family businesses that also give back to the communities they serve.

Our experience with Munz Construction was frustrating and disappointing from beginning to end. We…read moreinvested more than $250,000 in a home addition and expected professional workmanship, attention to detail, and basic communication. Instead, we spent the entire project chasing people down, pointing out mistakes, repeatedly requesting repairs, and essentially babysitting the professionals we hired to do the job. Two years later, we are still dealing with the consequences of choosing this contractor. The problems started before the project even began, when the estimator failed to show up for our appointment twice. Unfortunately, that lack of reliability and communication continued throughout the project. Workers would either show up without notice, or fail to show up when expected. Communication was a consistent issue, and getting answers or having issues addressed required repeated follow-ups. The workmanship and attention to detail given to our home was beyond disappointing. The many problems we experienced include subpar materials used on our new stairs, poor construction of our portico requiring it to be rebuilt, corners of walls built not square - bordering on triangular shape (in two rooms, one was never repaired), horrible drywall work which had to be redone, painting which had to be redone in every room multiple times, a hallway left uninsulated while the workers threw away packaged insulation in our dumpster, gutters installed in the wrong color, windows delivered with no screens, and an electrical panel being installed without being labeled at all (how basic is that?). The existing front door was damaged by the workers and had to be repainted. They failed to paint it acceptably 3 times and we ended up so frustrated that we told them to refund us the amount of an independent painter's estimate and had him strip the paint and start over instead. The final cost of our project also came in incredibly higher than the original estimate. Far too many things that should have been done correctly the first time required repeated requests and follow-up, and some issues were never actually resolved. This was the most major investment we have ever made in our home. We expected a finished addition that reflected the price we paid. Instead, we have been requesting assistance on several warranty issues for the first 2 years of a 5 year warranty. We have limited confidence in the quality of the work. Yesterday we had scheduled for warranty repair on the stairs. I attempted to schedule a prep meeting with the contractor ahead of the repair this weekend, which required us to stay off the second and third floors of our home all weekend (where all bedrooms are). I contacted them no less than 5 times to schedule this meeting. Nobody responded with any information until the day prior to work beginning and were told that work would begin the next day. After all the planning and coordination for months, our family of five made arrangements to stay off the second floor for two days. All three kids packed their bags, set up cots and air mattresses, and gathered their toiletries and everything else they would need. My husband and I rearranged our workdays and set up in the kitchen to work so we could take our meetings without interfering with the workers. Our project manager arrived and did a beautiful job tarping off and protecting the house. Everything was ready to go. Then, after he left at 8:30am, the stairs guy simply walked out and never returned. That's right. He left without starting and never came back, and apparently no one knows where he is or if he plans to return. I have no idea if and how our stairs will be repaired and the whole family is exhausted. It is time to move back upstairs tonight with zero progress made and no contact from Munz Construction in over 24 hours, although we told them what happened on Friday afternoon. This situation wasn't fair to the adults, but it was most unfair to the young kids, who prepared for this "downstairs camping adventure" we'd sold them and were so organized and agreeable to the weekend-long inconvenience. I'm pretty certain at this point Munz Construction just doesn't care about our family. We would not recommend this company to anyone.
