John and his crew do excellent work at very fair prices. I first met John in 2021 to get a roof estimate and he advised waiting (if the roof wasn't leaking), since the price of wood was crazy right after Covid. That told me right there I found an honest roofing company. Fast forward to 2025, I decided it was definitely time to replace my 33+ year old roof and reached out to John again. His estimate was about half the estimate I got from a national home improvement company. The estimate consisted of a complete roof tear-off of the house and 2 car garage, new soffits and fascia, new siding on one side of the house, and new larger 6K seamless gutters. I was happy that I didn't have to pay any deposits upfront. John broke the project down into several stages (roof, fascia/siding/soffits, and gutters), to be done on separate days as the various ordered materials came in. No money was needed until the day the crew showed up to start the work for that particular job. So I made an initial, partial payment when they came to do the roofing, followed by another payment when the roofing work was completed. John brought a large crew to do the roofing. They worked very efficiently. Despite having to replace a fair number of bad roof sheets, they completed all the roofing work in a single day. That included cutting into the house and garage roofs to add ridge ventilation, removing 2 passive roof vents, reflashing 2 chimneys, rehabbing the plumbing stack pipe, and adding a new bathroom exhaust vent plus rehabbing an existing one. The fascia/siding/soffit work went just as efficiently, also being done in a separate, single day, and it looks great! I wasn't sure if I really wanted to add to the total project cost by replacing all the soffit material, but I'm really glad I took John's advice to do it at the same time as all the other work as it really "pops" the appearance of the house and garage. Like the roof work, a partial payment was made when the crew showed up, and a final payment was made after completion. The final job was the gutters and that was also executed efficiently by a 2 person crew, taking about half a day, with the same payment arrangements. All in all, the work was executed well and I'm 110% pleased with the final results. I smile every time I look at it. To be honest, I'm pretty particular about certain things I wanted done to the roof, siding, etc. and John was quite helpful pointing me in the right direction and providing good advice, particularly with improving the roof's ventilation and replacing the soffits. A person in the company truck ran me me off the road. He almost hit me with the truck and jumped in front of me after being in the wrong lane. He was in the right turn lane and decided to go straight but ran me off the road in the process! I dont know about you, but I dont ever want to do business with someone who runs people of off the road. He was driving reckless, speeding, and it was a very dangerous situation. We just had our roof replaced by Economic Roofing and had a good experience. John did the estimate for our house and our neighbor's house. The price is cheaper than the other quotes that we got and covers pretty much the same thing, so we went with them. The scheduling is pretty straight forward, they prepared all the forms for us to be approved by our HOA and once it's done, they are able to fit us within the week. Originally, it was to be done on a Friday, but the weather is too hot and John talked to us to reschedule to the next day for better installation. They have a pretty big crew and arrived early in the morning and everyone works non stop and efficiently and were done by early afternoon. BEWARE! We would give zero stars if possible. Economic Roofing, formerly under the name Economic Construction in Willow Grove, PA, replaced our entire roof in Dec. 2021 after the Sept. 2021 21 Hurricane Ida tornado. We had no reason to believe that the job was not done professionally and up to specification. Now, after a recent heavy wind and rain storm, we have water damage inside our home. Mr. John Cho, owner, was called to the house to check the roof for any problem. He refused to go on the roof to even look, claiming the water damage was from another source. It is not clear yet what all of the contributing factors were to the current damage. After several roofers, insurance adjusters, and a construction and roofing expert came to the house, EVERY ONE of them has said that the ENTIRE ROOF was not installed properly - from the shingles to the flashing, ridge vent, attic fan, etc. Mr. Cho had used some unidentified subcontractors to do the roof job. Mr. Cho was told that he needed to come back and check the now likely shoddy roof job. He immediately began a texting "war," with all kinds of bogus claims, excuses, and stories, including, for example, that the contract did not call for new flashing. A flat out lie. When he finally came, after trying to delay and delay with more excuses, he simply had a glue gun in hand. As if that would address all of the problems with the entire job. After trying to explain that it was not just the current leak that was at issue, he become immediately hostile and almost right away shouted, "just sue me." He refused once again to go on the roof. He claimed he had pictures of the roof after it was finished and that it was fine. He refused, when asked, to forward any such alleged pictures. When he stopped shouting, standing outside in front of y home now being watched my neighbor, he continued to argue, deny responsibility, and again refused to go on the roof or look at any of the many photos the other roofers, experts, and insurance adjusters had provided. He left angrily after once again shouting for me to "sue him." We plan to do as he requested. If this company has ever done a roofing job for you, you should consider getting an opinion from another company to see if it was done properly since most of us homeowners do not go on our own roofs. Finally, ask yourself if that is any way for a legitimate business person to run a business, not to mention how to treat any customers. 8/23/23 read more

When we called John for an estimate he came to our place and did a thorough inspection of our roof. He showed us where the problems were and what he could do about it. He earned our trust instantly, and with his competitive offer, all we needed to do next was to get our neighbor onboard (he did!) and pick up a date. John has an amazing crew. His secretary, Ashley, took care of all the paperwork and responded to all our questions quickly during the process. On the day of the job, man, he brought a whole army! There were at least 20 people, with all kinds of trucks and tools, waiting outside of our place in the early morning (before 7am). They quickly dismantled the old roof and put in the new one and cleaned up the whole area by 4pm. They finished the job of two properties in one day, with plenty of time left. I think John is a great leader, given how smoothly his crew worked together. He is also very attentive to feedback from customers and is detail-oriented. I mentioned to him the noise of the newly installed fan. He took a stair and went up the roof and re-installed it by himself. Economic Roofing, Inc. replaced our 25-year-old in February 2023, as required by a prospective new homeowner's insurance carrier. We are extremely pleased with the customer service, quality craftsmanship, and professionalism we received from Economic Roofing, Inc. throughout the entire process. John Cho, the General Manager, returned our call the same day (a Saturday) and was out to our property in two hours to take measurements. He explained the process, materials, options (shingle grade and underlayment), and his approach in easy-to-understand language, answered our questions honestly, and didn't try to steer us toward more expensive choices. He discussed how he would handle anything he might find once he removed the old roof and what that would cost. At no time did we feel rushed or manipulated into making a decision. As promised, we received a quote in less than 24 hours (on a Sunday), which we accepted that same day. After he applied for and received the permit the next day, he scheduled the job for the following Saturday (one week from initial contact) and the materials were delivered the day before. A crew of 12 arrived at 7AM on "Roof Day," including John and his foreman, Patrick. Before beginning, they placed tarps to protect the house and landscaping, and moved the grill and patio furniture to a safe location. Everything was completed within 4 hours after arrival and looks great. When one area needed a small repair afterwards, John took care of it promptly.
