Wow, this was not just a rest stop and gas station, it was an adventure with endless food and drink selections not to mention gift shop. The rest rooms were immaculate and staff so friendly while endless gas pumps were priced competitively. Bakery cinnamon rolls ($1.99 plain, $2.69 pecan) and chocolate chip cookies $0.89 ea k) were delicious, coffee good and fresh, and unbelievable selection of breakfast and brunch sandwiches made right in front of you. Did I mention the biggest fresh jerky bar I've ever seen? Probably my favorite of all is their fresh made BBQ brisket, better than any BBQ restaurant brisket I've ever had. My husband and I and my service dog stopped at the Buc-ees in Calhoun, Georgia and because my dog, a 9 month old Pomeranian, puppy-whimpered and got excited when small children approached him and addressed him, a male employee came running up behind me and ordered me to leave. I wish people would teach their kids to not approach service dogs...he was wearing his vest. He had been in the car for 9 hours, sleeping 99% of the time, and was full of morning energy. The employee had no compassion, he was very abrasive and LIED when he accused my dog of barking in front of him and he radioed the female manager, who had a blonde bob haircut, wearing a white button-up shirt and khaki pants, was a bit hefty, who showed up shortly. I said I just needed to use the restroom after driving for several hours but the male antagonist loudly and hatefully stated if I went to the bathroom they'd call the cops and have me trespassed. What?!!! My husband was just ahead of me and didn't hear what happened as he went into the men's room so I was stuck outside for over half an hour waiting for him to come out. I had to relieve myself very badly, I was crying, I didn't have access to water for me or my dog, because that employee LIED. He shouldn't treat someone with ptsd and health issues with so much callousness. The female manager looked like she would have let me go to the bathroom but the male employee was totally awful. I started crying and forgot to get their names. He literally chased me out the door. When my husband finally came out, we went to the Love's across the road with no problem, as was the case with every stop on this trip. They all wanted to pet my dog. Now, if my friendliest dog in the world had nipped at or tried to bite someone I could understand. But all he did was get a little wiggly and puppy-whimpered when the kids came towards him. He absolutely loves kids! We are still working on this behavior but it's more difficult when people don't teach their kids to ignore service dogs. He had 6-8 weeks of training and this was his first road trip and time away from home. It's a lot for a puppy. The male employee was around 5.10', dark hair and dark facial hair. His energy was also dark. Watch out for him if you enter with your Service Dog. Unfortunately, my service dog's Certification ID was locked in the car with my keys, phone and water. This documentation is not required by law but my doctor said it's just good to have in the event we go into a dog-unfriendly business, like Buc-ees. A business staff person can only ask two questions concerning a Service Dog: A) Is he trained to perform a task? b) What is he trained to do? PERIOD. That's the extent a business employee can do. He violated the ADA and the manager was complicit. This has crushed me and ruined our road trip. My dad died not long ago and now my aunt that took care of me when I was a baby has just died and I was just trying to get home to all my family in Tennessee. That manager was completely hateful to me and I was still crying over an hour later. I don't know if he's a dog hater or maybe a misogynist but people like him have no idea what people are going through and he doesn't care. I wish I could be there when Karma calls on him for his cruelty. We're never going to stop at another Buc-ees, but if I ever run into someone like him again that threatens to call the police or threatens at all, I'm going to call 911. If I hadn't been so taken-aback and traumatized and been able to keep it together, I would have called 911 and proceeded to the bathroom. I am considering taking the advice of everyone I have shared my story with, who told me to immediately call an attorney that specializes in violations of the ADA. Total strangers, not just friends, have told me that kind of abuse should never be allowed and that the employee needs to be educated so that this abuse does not happen to anyone else. I've heard so much about Buc-ee's that when I saw the billboard saying only 118 miles to go, I got all excited and just couldn't wait to arrive! I was almost as excited as if my husband told me we were 118 miles from Disney! What I wasn't expecting were the throngs of humanity. I had to run the gauntlet to get to the restroom and then, even though it's the largest bathroom I've ever seen, I still had to wait in line. After that, I weaved my way past all of the other weary travelers to find my husband waiting with a pack of chocolate almonds in his hand. Oh their marketing is goooooood - unique items, take Himalayan Pink Salted Pistachio Nutty Bites for example, are placed on racks in the aisles that you can't avoid passing. Oh don't get me wrong - there is so much that looks delectable, there's so much of it and a lot of these little snacks won't break the bank individually, but watch out - one leads to two leads to five little bags and now you've spent over $25. It's so easy to do! And they are soooooo good! Every-time i saw a story on Buc-ee's, it never failed to mention their brisket sandwiches. There was absolutely no way my husband was going to get me out of there without trying one of these mouthwatering mounds of meat. I learned a lesson right about then - Buc-ee's has no picnic tables so, like half the people in the parking lot, we had to enjoy our sandwiches while sitting in the van. Lesson number two - HAVE SOME NAPKINS - this sandwich is messy. It was good but with all the hype I expected my taste buds to sing. The meat was a little fatty and the sauce pretty sweet. Still, I'd get it again. Buc-ee's doesn't advertise much sans billboards yet they have become a destination unto themselves. You need to visit a Buc-ee's at least once. Expect crowds, expect to be marketed to every with every step you take and be prepared to take your wallet with you - the marketing works! The employees are always friendly and helpful, and the prices are competitive. The bathrooms are well-maintained and clean, and the convenience store also offers a variety of novelties and souvenirs. BUC-EE'S located in Calhoun, GA went in Sunday evening around 10:00 and brought food, drinks, and gas. We brought two of the Carolina Pulled Pork sandwiches. I My husband and I took my sandwich back in, first two bites were nothing but fat. We spoke with a team leader, Juan. Juan has no experience dealing with customers complaints. I told him whoever was making this sandwich didn't care that half the sandwich was fat. I did not appreciate how Juan was speaking to me. He never apologized for the sandwich he spoke to me like I was making this up. He told me to go get another sandwich. Juan should have gotten the replacement sandwich. Juan didn't look at the sandwich until we left to get a new one. We returned with the replacement sandwich Juan stated he looked through the sandwich and didn't see much fat. He is lying the fat that I bite into was in the foil. He was rude and disrespectful. Also, the only number to call in is Texas. You can't even speak to a manager at the store. Not as cheap of gas as I was expecting for my second Buc-ee's experience; otherwise, the exact same store I visited in another state - same food, decor, people, etc. this visit had the addition of some half naked people in questionable clothing choices, and a couple having a friendly argument over fudge. Speaking of fudge - I tried the key lime purely out of curiosity and it was by far the sweetest fudge I've had in my life. I see the appeal for sweet tooth's and kids, but wasn't for me. Coffee station - calling out I had some blinders on apparently and ended up using plant-based creamer. Well, I have made my first and probably last trip to Buc ees. One of those placess you need to experience once again I have no desire to return. We stopped while traveling and spent about 30 minutes there. We did purchase a Chopped brisket sandwich that was pretty good. We also bought a $10 tray of sugar, cinnamon coated nuts as a gift and they were excellent. I thought prices were a bit high. There is ample parking but you might have to walk to get to the front door. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed, the parking lot and the store. I suppose if there was a convenient location I might go for gas or speciality snacks but the rest of the stuff you can buy at Walmart. When I travel I like to stop and get gas and use the resturant and keep on moving, not shop on the highway for things I really don't need or buy food I have to eat in the car as there is no place to eat inside tge store. does appear they pay well, glad to see that. read more

This is an awesome place, could spend hours here. The staff is super nice. Husb had the bacon egg and cheese biscuit, it was a hit. I had the bean and potato burrito was really good! The included beans were tasty. We split a paddle tail from the bakery also delicious. Flaky & fresh crust, caramelized sugar, just a bit of icing, wow! Next day we had a day old cinnamon bun, warmed of course, it was really really good. Husband tried a smoked turkey sandwich, nice thick slices of meat, just the right amount of sauce, he enjoyed, the bite u snagged was good!! Ice tea is very yummy. This place is awesome, if you've never been here before, you're really missing out. Everything from the exotic gifts to the exotic candies to the amazing service and the absolute fantastic food. We were there right when they finished making but I'm going call fresh pulled pork. Everyone in my party ordered a fresh pulled pork sandwich and they were to die for. We ended up getting almost 2 dozen stocking stuffer gifts. I think we visited this place in November so the timing was really good. This is one of the smaller Buc-ees so I recommend if you're driving anywhere in the country and you see a Buckys make sure you stop it because even the smaller ones are impressive. We broke down and took the kids to Buc-cess on the way home from Thanksgiving Break this time. Man, I really didnt want to but also I couldnt deny them the experience any longer. They have had several friends come back with that dang stuffed beaver or Buc-cees nuggets...so we went. They were immediately overwhelmed. Wait, back it up. We drove our Tesla so of course I have no reviews of the pumps at Buc-cees. I can say they look intimidating to try to jostle for a pump but there are a TON so I dont know if that makes it easy. They DO have Tesla superchargers in the back. You have to go to behind the store, so the best bet is to turn in on the second turn and not fight traffic. The kids (7 and 4) walked in and were IMMEDIATELY stimulated by ALL THE THINGS. My 7 year old was like "what are these plates and clothes doing in a gas station?". I must be blessed and highly favored. Why else would this beloved Texan chain of gas stations follow me when I moved to Georgia? Please understand, this company is absolutely adored by Texans. The Lone Star State is famous (among other things) for its long road trips where everything is about three hours apart. Headed from Houston to San Antonio? There's a Buc-ees right in the middle, right when you need a potty break. Dallas to Austin? Same. They've begun a massive expansion into the travel routes that cover southeastern beach and recreation areas, and this one is in Calhoun, GA on the way to them pristine lakes and mountains. But it's not a truck stop. They actively discourage trucks and other transport traffic. And those bathrooms are spotlessly clean, homie. The freshness of those toilets is not to be questioned, and it's a key part of their hospitality-centric business model. It's all joy, all fun, all relief in store for your tired bladder. The food is really high quality for a gas station. I've lived in numerous beloved gas station territories that try to have a local identity (hello, Wawa), and this is a similar situation. You can easily pickup a satisfying brisket sandwich at all hours of the day, it seems. There are also tacos for order, and the soda fountains use that special chewy ice. So chewy. Aside from that, they really do sell a lot of fun stuff. There are funny homegoods, and a mountain of things imprinted with the face of that silly beaver. In other locations, they do try to carry goods that may be of interest for local recreation. I've been in stations close to the water, for example. There was fishing stuff everywhere. For Calhoun though, there seemed to be coolers and camo and maybe some stuff that a hunter-outdoorsman would appreciate. For travelers in the south, these guys are irreplaceable. read more

I truly enjoy Bucees but this one was a bad experience. The person at the jerky station at 5pm was totally different. A heavyset curly haired guy who tried his best not to wait on my son and I. We purchased jerky which he really enjoyed. It was soured by the wait and the five customers he sampled while we strode there trying to orders. I visited Wonderland for the first time on my way back from Chattanooga. I was incredibly impressed. Buc-ees is not simply a gas station/convenience store. It is paradise. It is a slice of heaven. Go into Buc-ees and be impressed by the truly immense selection of... stuff. They've got "potions and pastries that make you grow tall." They've got clean restrooms. They've got a crazy selection of beef jerky. You can even do holiday shopping at the store with the crazy amount of miscellaneous items that they have. The biggest highlight, for me, is food. In NY and LA, you can find really good food at late hours. Other places, you can find really good food at late hours at Buc-ees. I am not exaggerating in the slightest when I say that I would be 500 pounds if I had a Buc-ees near me. You really can eat great, even late. Gas was the cheapest in 10-20 miles during my visit. It apparently won't always be the cheapest, but there's just so many more reasons to stop here. Bless this beautiful beautiful chain. We went here for the experience, we've been seeing a lot of videos online about buc- ee's and the bathroom was so big and super clean. They had hand sanitizer on the inside of the bathroom and hand sanitizer on the outside by the sinks, there was also a young lady working and cleaning 10/10 . We had the XL brisket sandwich, and it tasted amazing, the sandwich gave Kalani S. Heartburn, she thought she was going into cardiac arrest but it was worth eating. The cashier we had wasn't that friendly but everyone around was nice, be prepared to run into a lot of people, but just say excuse me along the way. My beautiful friend, Melody, also a Yelp Elite, introduced me to Buc-ee's for the very first time. Traveling on 75 north from Atlanta to Chattanooga, this particular Buc-ee's was about the halfway point between the two. Having never been to one, it was a little overwhelming, and I felt like I small child and a candy store when I walked through the front doors. It was merchandise to the left of me, cowboy merchandise to the right of me, and a very large food court, with just about everything under the sun in it, including a full brisket counter, with fresh sandwiches, being made right in front of you. Believe it or not, I even started my Christmas shopping by purchasing a couple items that I knew I would never find any place else. The people behind the counters, and the cash registers were extremely kind and very friendly. In particular, the young lady behind the jerky counter, who gave me three samples so I could see which jerky I enjoyed the best, was knowledgeable, and very nice. With plenty of gas pumps outside and ample parking, it was a great place to visit and truly a wonderful stop to break up the drive between Atlanta and Chattanooga, Tennessee. Oh Buc-ee's, you have my heart. A friend of mine had told me about this place and I had no idea what was in store. This place is as big as a Walmart, with countless gas pumps, and gas is easily close to a $1 less here than it is in Knoxville TN, crazy! The best way for me to put this place is it's the Walmart of Gas Stations and in the best possible way. They started in Texas. As you walk up they have all sorts of summer things for sale: grills, fire pits, pool accessories, etc. When you get inside, welcome to Buc-ee's heaven! The first thing you see is their selection of glazed nuts: pecans, walnuts, and almonds. Their back wall is a beef lovers dream as it's one of the largest varieties of beef jerky I've ever seen. They have another large case of pastries, donuts and kolaches. Do yourself a favor and have a kolache (I like the jalapeño cheese and sausage one). You will hear someone yell "fresh brisket on the board," and when you turn around they are literally chopping fresh brisket and making sandwiches out of it. They have smoked Turkey, pulled pork, and brisket sandwiches along with other things like sausage on a stick. They have a large variety of snacks and ready to eat adult lunchables, cut up fruits, and ready to eat sandwiches. I have never been more impressed with a gas stations Italian already made sandwich. If none of what I mentioned interests then you can order off their menu at the back and they will make you something tasty. Now, not only does Buc-cee's have food but they have apparel, mens, womens, childrens, dog accessories, cat accessories, hunting gear, home goods, etc. The list of what this place has is insane, and I'm 100% sold on Buc-cee's. Don't get me started on their jams, seasoning and hot sauce selection. Lastly for the bathrooms. Most times when you use a gas station bathroom you walk in and know you are going to walk into a mess of pee on the floor and all over the toilet. This is seriously the cleanest bathroom I've ever seen for a gas station or to be honest anywhere. Buc-cee's needs to train other places how to clean bathrooms because this place was spotless. They have someone in there constantly cleaning, and let me tell you if you need privacy, you have your own bathroom, you'll see what I mean in the pictures. I guess that's why they call them "World Famous Restrooms." If I haven't sold you on Buc-cee's then go check it out for yourself. Every time I see a sign that says Buc-cee's I start screaming in the car knowing I'm getting close. I absolutely love Buc-cee's and I hope you will too.
