Yes I'm a Buc-ees Fan - Lots of fuel pumps which allows the customers to pump their gas and leave it in place while going inside to shop, yes for some it may be only a restroom stop or a chance to grab a snack and a pop. For others it may be an amusement park like experience, there's lots to see and uhm... do I guess, you can spot the new customers as they enthusiastically explore every inch of the property with their oozes and aaahs. This was my first time stopping at this particular location although I've visited a number of other locations over the last few years after first being introduced to this brand in Houston. Buc-ees has been very aggressive with its expansion plans, I understand the excitement they create with ever new location opening, but once you've experienced them a few times the thrill subsides rather quickly. I do like that they are open 24-hours especially on a trip like I just recently completed. The giant cup of Mountain Dew was just what I needed to push through to Florida although I coupled that with a large blueberry muffin which I must admit was pretty disappointing, very cold, wet and mushy I recommend having the counter person nuke it for a few seconds. Now just a short note about waste and environmental stewardship - there should be alternatives to the styrofoam cups I mean if you have one location that may be only a few thousand cups a year to the landfill its definitely not Armageddon, but as the company expands as they are this will no doubt turn into million and millions a year, I may be out of touch with technology - maybe the new styrofoam cups are biodegradable and I'm an just an ignoramus. I also didn't need a cardboard box big enough to hold a dozen donuts for one lonely muffin. I do like the fact that I can have as many paper napkins that I can hold in my hands. I can say that the staff that was working in the very very early morning hours were extremely welcoming and it was equally nice to see them dressed professionally and well groomed. Buc-ee's is normally a good stop for food during a roadtrip. Tonight at 8:00pm stopped in saw they Now offer chicken tenders and fries for $8.99, so I grabbed a box to go. Buc-ee's needs to get out of the chicken business. Chicken was dry and overcooked. Fries greasy. In my 60 plus years I've eaten many chicken tenders from fast food, gas stations and truck stops. Food: 3 Customer Service: 3 Location/ Parking: 4 Cleanliness: 4 This Buc-ees Gas station is just south of Calhoun, GA right off the I-75 interstate. It was not as organized as the other locations that we've visited, because the direction of flow to get to a gas pump. They had vehicles going in both directions and pedestrians had to be careful to not get ran over. We decided to grab some ice, coffee, and a brisket sandwich for lunch. Inside the store it appeared that they was operating over capacity, because you could barely walk without another customer bumping into you. Than as I got my items and attempted to payout the lines were very slow. So by the time I ate my sandwich it was cold and it didn't taste good. Buc-ees is the best convenience store ever! Buc-ees initially was open in Texas and has slowly popping up in other states, including Florida and Tennessee. And now Georgia can join that list. For those that are new to Buc-ees, this chain is best known for clean restrooms, miles and miles of gas station pumps, delicious premade foods (including brisket sandwiches, turkey drumsticks, cold sandwiches, burritos, salads, etc), snacks and desserts like their large selection of fudge. They also have a lot of Buc-ees merchandise you can purchase (shirts, shoes, bags, sweaters, etc). During a road trip I did in December, my husband and I found ourselves near this Buc-ees location and decided to stop by here. It happened to be Christmas Eve on our visit and what was unexpected was that we saw Bu-cees (the beaver) walking around in a Santa suit. We ended up taking photos with him. This was a nice surprise, especially since we have never seen Buc-ee at the other Buc-ees locations that we have visited in Texas. On this visit, we purchased two salads (please note that salad dressing is not free but usually they have a special that if you purchase 2 salads, you can get one salad dressing pouch for free), barbecue brisket sandwich, Bucee's pralines, glazed almonds (they were nice and hot but were a little hard though), a Christmas sweater with Buc-ee all over it and a Buc-ee shirt for my husband. The employee checking us out at the register was friendly and all the other employees we interacted with were as well. Calhoun, Georgia, you are lucky to have a Buc-ees. Is it a gas station or an amusement park? I really was confused until I realized there were only gas pumps and no roller coaster. Location and Parking We pulled up to refuel on a tip to Chattanooga. The couple I carpooled with said this place would change my life... they were not wrong. There are over 100 pumps, plenty of parking spaces, and no tractors allowed. Venue and Atmosphere Oh. Em. Gee. Where do I even begin? Do you want a brisket sandwich while you try on bathing suits with a beaver's face on them? And when you have to relieve yourself of said sandwich you can grab cooking utensils on the way to an immaculately clean bathroom? Buc-ees has all of that and more. Seriously though, you can buy anything from hats, coolers, and swimwear to cast iron skillets, more sweets and beef jerky than you can imagine, and of course that famous brisket sandwich. I am local to this Buckys car wash and have used it 4 times since it opened. Every time one of the employees has felt the need to let me know I'm doing something against their allowable processes. Whether it's improperly using the bug brushes, or violating there definition of detailing my vehicle, which is not allowed . Also, buyer beware. I don't see anything that states it before you pay, but you get a vacuum code on your receipt. You cannot use the vacuums without the code and you only get 10 minutes of time. They are the only car wash I know of that doesn't allow detailing. Unfortunately, the closest car wash to my house is no longer the most convenient car wash to my house. read more

We stopped here on our drive from Atlanta to Nashville at in late November. I've been a fan of Buc-ee's ever since I learned firsthand in Texas last summer what Buc-ee's had to offer. If you've never been to a Buc-ee's, just think of a gas station and convenience store on super steroids, because they're both bulked up at all Buc-ee's locations. For instance, this location has 120 gas pumps, and by the way, there are some pumps that dispense gas with no ethanol. The problem at the pumps is that, at least when we visited, customers who get gas fill up, then they leave their cars parked at the pumps and go in the store to do some shopping. Maybe that's the reason why there are 120 gas pumps, huh? Oh, and the gas prices were lower at Buc-ee's than at any other gas station in the area. We filled up, then moved the car into a legit parking space. The free parking lot has so many parking spaces that I don't think it ever gets full. Customers are continuously arriving and leaving, so there will always be available parking spaces. First place to visit in the Buc-ee's store is the spacious restrooms (well, the men's restroom is large, so I assume the women's restroom is also large). The men's restroom was very clean, and I didn't see anything broken or out of operations. There are so many customers near the beverage fountains, waiting for their friends and family members to come out of the restrooms, that it looks like an airline flight arrival area. The beverage (sodas, slushies, coffee, tea, etc.) area is pretty big, and kept clean by employees who are stationed in that department. They also make sure that everything needed by customers is well stocked. I love the hot food area! There are many types of sandwiches that are fresh, wrapped, and placed under the heat laps so that all customers have to do is find the type(s) of sandwiches they want, such as chopped or sliced bbq beef brisket, sausage, pulled pork, bbq turkey, and others. What I do is ask one of the employees in that area, usually a leader, to have a sliced beef brisket sandwich made without the bbq sauce, only because I know that I'm going to eat the sandwich while driving and I don't want to get any sauce on my clothes. One more thing that I buy every time I go to a Buc-ee's is a bag of warm cinnamon-glazed pecans that I always find under the heat lamps. These are so addicting! There are a lot of other items, both hot and cold, available in this area, and customers can grab, pay for them, and go. There is also a very large deli with great looking meats and cheeses. This Buc-ee's has a very large retail floor where customers can find a huge variety of things that I didn't expect to see, some cheap stuff, like things that I would buy for others as a gift, but there are also a lot of quality items that I would buy for myself, such as clothes (but not the ones with a pic of Buc-ee on them! I like Buc-ee's, but not Buc-ee himself) and things for the home. Everything is well stocked and organized ... and the store is well lit and clean! There are so many other things that Buc-ee's sells. The lines of customers at the checkouts can be long; however, the employees usually get the people moving quickly that that people aren't in lines for very long. When you go there, just remember ... less expensive gasoline, clean restroom, special request beef brisket sandwich without sauce, and warm cinnamon-glazed pecans. You can find this location of Buc-ees at 601 Union Grove Rd SE, Calhoun GA 30701 - as I recall this is the second Calhoun exit off I85 traveling north just past the highway Rest Stop. There are many signs and billboards so hard to miss. Buc-ees is a real institution and branding marvel - something about that smiling beaver just makes you want to stop. On this occasion I realized that I needed to get a red child-sized cap for my grandnephew Jack as I was meeting my niece and nephew in Chattanooga on my way to Nashville from Atlanta. If you haven't been, this place is a cross between a giant retail store like a Walmart, and a QT - there are dozens of pumps and a huge wall of food as well as an expansive lunch counter. There's clothing and souvenirs as well as other retail items - I was in and out so only got to the kids clothes and walked to the bathrooms, otherwise could have spent a long time as there was much to observe. Speaking of restrooms, Buc-ees prides itself for the size, ease of access and cleanliness - rightfully so. They also pride themselves on their brisket and if you want to savor it later, they have a huge wall of jerky. Prices seemed on the high side but not too ridiculous. Checkout was a breeze with very friendly clerks. The only downside, shared with other very large establishments, is the distance you'll need to park away from an entrance. Buc-ee's not only embraces the old adage that everything is bigger in Texas, they actually are setting out to show the world that this bold statement is indeed fact. Buc-ee's is far beyond just a typical gas station, they are beyond a commonplace travel plaza. Buc-ee's is best described as an experience upon itself. There is an endless line of gas pumps, plenty of parking, so much so that it almost appears like it's a shopping center (and in many ways it is), the inside is full of trinkets and they have a surprisingly good amount of food. One of my go-to things at Buc-ee's is there a fantastic beef jerky. This is seriously good beef jerky and I strongly recommend that you stop in and pick some up. With Buc-ee's now expanding in Alabama, Florida, and now Georgia, it is only a matter of time until it will be Bucky's spread throughout the southeastern United States. There's a department store, bakery, deli, grocery store and lots of gas pumps. They have everything you could possibly need. They say they have the cleanest restrooms in America, and I have to agree. The bathrooms are indeed the cleanest I've ever encountered especially for a gas station. It's also huge and offers lots of stalls. I walked around for a bit before getting some snacks and a cinnamon roll. I wanted to get a slushie, but their slushie station was out of order. I stopped for my first experience of the world of Buc-ees. My lanta it's huge snd overwhelming. Huge in the arms that there's a ton of gas pumps, way to much stuff to buy, and plenty of restrooms. Now that I did love ... how many clean stalls there were along with full walls to give you complete privacy. Now the store is a mix of Walmart and an over full gas station. I don't completely like the overwhelming Walmart so it doesn't go well for a gas station either but clearly this is a popular new fangled shopping experience. There was tons of hot food options along with a bakery counter and jerky counter. I did purchase a chocolate chip cookie- which was tasty. So what really disappointed me was that I was immediately stopped at the door but a manager like guy and told my dog was not welcomed. I understand dkmr plsces aren't welcoming to pets. No big deal till I saw several dogs as I wondered around the store. And none with the "support animal" gear to signal they weren't pets but working animals. But the same manager-like guy breezed past them without a word. What's up with that??? read more

Buc-ee's is the Disneyland of gas stations. If you have never seen a Buc-ee's it is difficult to describe. The phrase "must see to appreciate " is often overused but in this case it definitely applies. I can't put in words how exciting it is to begin seeing the Buc-ee's billboards, starting about 60 miles before the exit. I frequently drive between Indiana and Florida, and I am usually traveling through Georgia at midnight or later. Definitely time for a well deserved break. Finally I see Buc-ee's appear, so brightly lit, sparkling like a desert oasis, beckoning interstate travelers, attracting customers like moths to the campfire flame. Gas pumps are amazingly plentiful, I think 120 or more. You absolutely never have to wait. But pumping gas in a brightly lit lot is just the beginning. The store is just unbelievably awesome. Whether you are looking to grab a few snacks or an entire meal, Buc-ee's has it covered. You can order food from kiosks, and it is easy to customize as well. On this trip I ordered a grilled cheese, and a message popped up asking if I wanted a side of French fries for free! Yes, please, sign me up! And the side of fries was very generous too. And tasty! If you are in a hurry there are several self-service grab-and-go cases, but with much more than your typical convenience store options. Sandwiches and wraps of all sorts, fresh salads, many varieties of fruit cups, cheeses, and much more. One of my favorite items is the assorted cheese cups. You can buy a cup with assorted cheese cube varieties, or all one type of cheese if you prefer. These cheese cups are the perfect snack to grab when you are driving. The cheese is really delicious, too. All of the food options are very reasonably priced. There is a jerky bar, with many different types of Jerky. And a bakery, with a stellar assortment of baked goods. You will find a a fudge station with old-fashioned fresh fudge being made in more than a dozen flavors. Can't decide on a flavor? You can purchase a sample pack with several different flavors. There are fountain drinks and a huge variety of drinks in bottles and cans. Ice is available in small and large bags, very cheap. In addition to the food options there are several gift shops areas. Kitchen gifts, toys and games, stuffed animals, t-shirts, clothing, pet toys and supplies, souvenirs, grills, camping gear, chairs, and much more. Did I mention that all the employees are super helpful and friendly? And as you walk in you will hear, "Welcome to Buc-ee's!" The parking lot is huge, and so well lit that I feel comfortable walking my dog, even after midnight. The newest attraction to land on the side of 75 is this Buc-ees and folks are going wild for this place...and for good reason! At its core, Buc-ees is just a gas station, but it is much more of an experience than anything...meaning, you must experience this place at some point in your life! The store itself is the size of a grocery store and features many of the same things you would find at one too! They have all the staples of a convenience store with only about 25% of the store being just that, outside of that...toss in a quarter of the store dedicated to clothing, toys, gifts, souvenirs, locally sourced items, housewares, electronics, etc...then the remaining two quarters of the store is dedicated to hot food such as chicken, brisket, bbq, burgers, sandwiches and sausages, and then beef jerky...like a whole freaking beef jerky bar and wall that has more varieties of jerky than I honestly knew existed...and additionally they are slinging house-made sweets such as fudge, nuts and ice cream! Bathrooms were massive and clean as well! I heard a first while enjoying the facilities here...a very friendly staff member who was checking the restrooms told us "Thank you for choosing the Buc-ees men's room today, your urination destination" and that got a good chuckle out of a few folks! Service was stellar. Not only the service I personally received, but the service I witnessed. They were all friendly, welcoming, helpful and efficient! If you are after gas and not all the other stuff, then they got you covered as well! They have plenty of pumps, well over 40-50 pumps that feature the cheapest gas in the area by at least 10 cents! Overall, Buc-ees is a place to say you have been and a place you want to go back to! It is the experience of the visit that makes this place so special...and the fantastic service doesn't hurt either! Not sure if it was just because it's only been a few months or if they are always this busy. But to get gas, something to eat took about 30 min in line. Finally getting around to leaving my reviews from all of the places I went last weekend on a quick weekend trip to Nashville and Huntsville. So, of course, any trip we take going to Tennessee or northern Alabama will include a stop by Buc-ees or even a slight detour just to add it to the list. Going to the restroom is actually pleasant as it's the cleanest gas station restroom you'll ever see. The crowds inside make you feel like you're at an amusement park but it's really just a vibe. What can you say about Bucees? Everything! Born in Texas with family still there is awesome to see the move Bucees is making with locations in Alabama and Georgia! This is the newest Georgia location in Adairsville across the highway from Mohawk Industries and about 20 minutes north from the Tellus Museum. Overall Buc-ees is a great experience! The bathrooms were very clean. There was an attendant in the bathroom cleaning the stalls in real time and letting people know which stalls are available. There is just about every food option you can imagine including sandwiches, fruit, salad, tacos, etc. My drawbacks are that Buc-ees is VERY crowded. Honestly it was shocking how many cars and people were there so be prepared! read more

I've had friends brag about Buc-ees for years and I finally had the chance to visit one myself. This is the Costco of rest stops. They have anything you could EVER need on your road trip! First, the bathrooms- It's what they are known for. They have lots, they were mostly clean and automatic sinks, dryers etc. Plus they art in them too. Much nicer than the usual road side bathroom, heck nicer than a lot of fast food bathrooms these days too. Second, the selection- Beef jerky, wine, chicken, sandwiches, candy, popcorn, sunglasses etc.... T-shirts, seasonal gifts, chain related swag this place has almost everything you can think of. Third and finally lots of parking. I hate it when I have to stop and circle unable to find parking. They planned for the busy days! So it's basically like a gas station mixed with a Walmart. You can get whatever you want, there's sandwiches are probably their premiere thing that you go for. But you can get jerky far as the eye can see and a bunch of desserts as well. And all the typical gas station accompaniments too. This place is amazing! Gas was cheaper by 10 cents a gallon than the truck stop across the street. So much stuff it hard to see it all and get back on the road in a decent amount of time. Restroom is huge and super clean. Very kind and polite employees! I got the pulled pork sandwich. Delish! Smoky and not too saucy. Hubby got a cinnamon roll and a croissant. He was happy. Will be stopping again on the way back north. read more

First time here and surprised at how busy it was. Came around 10am and it was pretty busy. Lots of things to see. Saw buc-ee's himself along with all his merchandise. Loved the pulled pork sandwich. Loved the gas price wish California had this price. read more

BUC-EE'S located in Calhoun, GA went in Sunday evening around 10:00 and brought food, drinks, and gas. We brought two of the Carolina Pulled Pork sandwiches. I My husband and I took my sandwich back in, first two bites were nothing but fat. We spoke with a team leader, Juan. Juan has no experience dealing with customers complaints. I told him whoever was making this sandwich didn't care that half the sandwich was fat. I did not appreciate how Juan was speaking to me. He never apologized for the sandwich he spoke to me like I was making this up. He told me to go get another sandwich. Juan should have gotten the replacement sandwich. Juan didn't look at the sandwich until we left to get a new one. We returned with the replacement sandwich Juan stated he looked through the sandwich and didn't see much fat. He is lying the fat that I bite into was in the foil. He was rude and disrespectful. Also, the only number to call in is Texas. You can't even speak to a manager at the store.
