He took a prop out of the box that was right for my engine and showed me how to fit it with the hub and discussed with me the relative merits of an aluminum versus stainless steel. He knew what he was talking about and I ended up with exactly the prop I needed and some dock line. I felt perfectly confident in his advice and he never tried to up-sell me with things I didn't need. A great person and a great store. Thank you West Marine in Fox Lake! I was on the fence on different models and brands and she helped me with a side by side comparison so I picked the right one with options that I need. It was a big purchase for me so she wasn't pushy, on the other hand she also welcomed me with open arms and made me feel comfortable since I have had trouble in the past with sales people not wanting to approach me since I don't have the appearance of being rich. She didn't hesitate to greet me and help me out. Later after we made sure that we had the right make and model she introduced me to one of the owners Matt. We sat down and he dialed me in with the price. It was like a no haggle thing since I was shopping and knew what this should cost and he was below anyone else. He was very very helpful and was a pleasure to do business with. This is a family business and they treated me like family. It may run but good luck. Anyway, had them tune a carb and detune my 2-stroke 15 years ago (due to the new at the time ethanol gas). My motor starts and runs like a champ to this day! Ray suggested de-tuning and I'm glad I did. Lot of motors went to hell from the alcohol. Highly recommend. I told them what I needed, they suggested some things, they did the work. Shortly after I agreed to this boat I received a call from Susan the Business Manager, she had everything lined up for me within minutes, all the way down to insurance options. The customer service from both her and Don was excellent. I arrived to sign docs and take possession, quick and easy. Introduced to the rest of the staff (Service, Parts, Dock attendants, etc...) Susan covered everything like a pro and Don even took the inaugural cruise on the lake with us to make sure the boat was perfect. New ownership and the place looks outstanding. The entire staff is amazing, with an awesome focus on customer service. 10/10 will be doing business with the Boathouse Chicago all summer!

My salesperson at the time, Peter Biasco, was outstanding and thoroughly knowledgeable about his product as well as the competitive marketplace. He advised me on what was great, what was not necessary to meet my needs, and what was the best way to go with the boat in terms of how do I outfit it. All of his recommendations have proven to be outstanding. Fast forward to 3 years later and I happen to have had a problem with the cover that covers the Bimini when it's down. Unfortunately, I got a tear in it, and I reached out to Peter on how I should handle the process. Honestly I wasn't sure what I was going to get because Peter was my salesperson and not involved with service, per se, but he really stepped up. Not only did he listen to my concern about the tear, he went through the process of checking into the warranty, checking with his service people, and as a result, I'm getting a brand new bimini because of his efforts. I'm very grateful that I picked Munson as my place of purchase, and I'm grateful that I had Peter as my original salesperson--someone I could turn to 3 years later when I had my first problem. He picked up the ball and ran with it and scored a SERVICE touchdown. Thank you, Peter. I appreciate your help very much.
