Milwaukee isn't on anyone's Top 10 or Top 20 places to visit, but if you're in town on a beautiful sunny day, a nice long easy going bike ride on a Bublr electric bike is great fun way to see the city and coast line. $25 gets you a full 24 hour pass to access Bublr's many bike stations and even more bikes. Rental process was easy, and most of the bikes seemed to be in good condition. That said, I would still definitely go for the electric bikes over the traditional bikes because some parts of the city are hilly, and also cause I'm lazy! read more

We had a morning to kill before a pm wedding so we rented some bublr bikes for about two hours which cost around $12 each. This is not too bad compared to bike rentals in other communities. We tooled around the great paths down along the lake by the Summerfest grounds and in Veterans park. The bikes themselves were ok. The brakes were weak and the shifting poor but they were fine for casual biking. They did come with built in locks. The system for using it was relatvely straightforward though you had to redo the process for each bike. Also they need more than the ten or so stations but we heard they are about to add more. read more

It's pretty obvious this Bublr Station, in front of Milwaukee Street, is a hip n happenin' Bublr Station. When I pulled up at 8:15 a.m. 13 out of 15 bike stalls were filled with bikes ready to take off. Looks like a lot of people in the downtown area who work in the Third Ward had the same idea I had. And that idea - of getting a little exercise, enjoying a bike ride, and sampling a dose of the Great Outdoors - benefits everyone, and the environment to boost. It will be interesting to see what bikes are available at the end of the day. I bet there won't be 13! If no bikes are available, it won't be a big deal. the 411 East Wisconsin location is about 2 blocks away. No worries. I will get home. I've been fortunate enough to use bike shares in many major cities around the US- each with a name, seemingly dumber than the next. Bublr, is apparently a term unique to Milwaukee (except for a sliver of Rhode Island) for water fountains and hints at the city's aspirations to be a capital for water-related industry and research. I just know it as a fine marijuana-smoking apparatus. Either way, I think Bublr may be my favorite program thus far. The baby-blue color of the bikes, seems to be a nod to their Lake Michigan neighbors, Chicago- with their Divvy bike share (perhaps my second favorite program). It appears that if there's one thing they know about here in the Midwest, it's bike shares. What about beer and cheese, you ask? Shutup; this is my review. No more questions. Since the program is still fairly new, there aren't a whole lot of stations (10 for now). Thankfully, Milwaukee isn't really that big, so it's not a huge deal. Being that it is new, that also means that the bikes are, well... new. No one has had the chance to really jack these bad boys up yet. I imagine once spring comes back around, there will be some booze-fueled, bike accidents. For me, the location of their few kiosk/stations were perfect. There was a station right outside of my hotel, on Kilbourn; from there I paid my $7 (a steal) for my 24 hour pass. We rode Kilbourn to Juneau Park, and then took Prospect ave to the Lake Bluff Condos, where there was a ramp that lead down to the lake/Veterans Park. From there we took the bike path around Lake Michigan and down to Discovery World, where I switched out bikes. From there we rode further down to the lighthouse and back to DW where we switched bikes out again, to make sure we didn't go over the allotted 30 minutes. After that we went to the Public Market to grab some lunch. It was never a chore to try and find a station, which was refreshing. I also really liked the fact that Bublr doesn't print out your ticket number for your bike. You get to choose beforehand which bike you want, select it's postion # in the kiosk and then you have 30 seconds to unlock it; that's gotta save some trees. They also text you once you've docked it, so you know it was done correctly. Plus, their full baskets also have a lock, in case you need to run into a store, for say... some beer or cheese. read more

Pathetic experience! rented 2 bikes for 94 minutes. I was charged $16 (120 minutes) for one, and $130 for the other. Andrew the customer service rep was rude and blamed the overcharge on me for the 2nd bike. He said it was not be put back properly. This is ridiculous as he reported himself that it magically got put back in place properly at exactly 12:00 midnight!! one of the bikes was poor with a major rattle. Watch your credit card charges!!! read more

Super experience! Dealt with Sarah in their cust serv on the phone with a question, she was great, very helpful and nice. These bikes are tough and light and made well for this mission, plus they have a basket and a built in lock, oh and a dynamo driven front and rear light that never die. Remember to byo helmet. Bublr continues to bill me without authorization since July 1. I have repeatedly changed my account setting to stop the auto-billing and I have reached out to them via e-mail and text (because apparently you can't call) to ask for them to stop billing me and I have gotten billed twice since I ask them to stop. read more

My boyfriend and I rented bikes for the first time yesterday and had an amazing time! We experienced some issues retrieving a bike so I called the number expecting to get an automated message. To my surprise, someone picked up immediately and stayed on the phone until we retrieved both bikes. We had a great time exploring the city.
