Decided to try this place for the first time. Can order buffet or off the menu. I got the buffet, haven't had buffet since Covid arrived. If getting food from the buffet gloves are required. The food was delicious. I really liked it. The only thing I did not like was the desserts tasted a little dry and the dumplings did not have many dumplings in it, mostly juice. Don't eat here if you don't like down home country cooking. This was a great country food buffet with menu available. They had tender ribs, tasty pulled pork, boiled cabbage, greens, baked beans, hominy, boiled new red potatoes, catfish and there was a salad bar. Four flavors of scoop it yourself ice cream with chocolate and caramel sauces and a bar with multiple sprinkle toppings and a few other desserts. There was more; that's what I could remember. We pulled off the highway mid-afternoon for lunch and my husband couldn't resist such a name along with bar-b-que. We were very pleased with our meals. The service for buffet was adequate. read more

This place is FANTASTIC. My husband brought me here for my birthday today, and it was amazing! We got the buffet. It had a HUGE selection of foods, including pulled pork (with two different types of sauces provided at your table), fried chicken, wings, fried fish, and boneless pork chord chops as the meats. Sides on the buffet included mashed potatoes, pinto beans, boiled potatoes, honey carrots, corn, green beans, rolls, and even REAL hominy! Desserts include maple pecan bread pudding, rice Krispy treats, puddings, cakes, and more. The wait staff are amazing people. We were camping nearby at Cumberland Falls, and decided to come to Corbin for dinner (and an escape from the heat). Bubby's was definitely the right choice. The buffet was only $9.99 for adults for dinner, which included ribs. We were there early, so the ribs weren't out yet (they had just switched from lunch to dinner buffet), so as soon as they were cooked, our server brought a giant basket of them to our table. The food on the buffet was really, really good all around. Everyone loved the mac n' cheese. The corn tasted like it had been freshly cut off the cob. The pulled pork was outstanding. It was the best fried catfish I've ever had (super crispy, very light breading), and my 3-yr old became a fried catfish lover because of it. All the desserts were also great, and my sister, a bread pudding fiend, said theirs might be the best she's had. We didn't have a single regret about eating here. Exceptional food, incredibly fair price, the service was top notch and friendly ... we even stopped on the way out to ask them to open a location in Louisville if they ever expand. read more

Southern Cooking at Its Best This is by far the best buffet I've been to since I've lived down south. All the food is homemade from scratch. $10 buffet on Sundays offers a salad bar with healthy green and a good variety of other things, hot wings, fried chicken, pulled pork that's incredible. Our rafting tour guide recommended Bubby's BBQ today. We couldn't be more pleased with the fantastic dinner we enjoyed. Especially good was the signature pulled pork BBQ--served straight on the buffet or in a piled high sandwich. The tenderloin ( with country gravy) and fried catfish was also exceptionally good. We were passing through on our way home from Gatlinburg and Yelp had great reviews on Bubby's. It was AWESOME! From the service to the food. Gigantic buffet for $10.95 and included desserts. Bread pudding was the best I've ever had! Our waitress (sorry, I can't remember her name) was great. It was her first day on the floor and she did an amazing job. Our next trip to Gatlinburg will definitely include lunch at Bubby's!! read more

So happy to have found Bubby's on our road trip through Kentucky. Excellent buffet spread of delicious southern eats. Nice salad bar (with iceberg AND spring lettuce), crispy fried chicken, fried catfish, numerous sides including beets, collards, baby carrots, new potatoes, mac and cheese, cabbage, etc etc. There is also an entire buffet table dedicated to desserts - I don't know what it was called, but it contained peaches, berries, whipped cream, chocolate, and a very dense cake... Finally found a restaurant that promised what it advertised and then some! Very popular even at lunch. I normally don't get fish on a buffet, but this catfish was the BEST I've ever eaten. We always look for good local food on our trips and this place did not disappoint. First, the entire staff was super friendly and did an excellent job. Place runs like a well oiled machine. We can in on a Sunday at lunch time and got the buffet. 3 tables covered with good home cooked southern food; catfish, pulled pork, fried chicken, sweet corn, black eyed peas, dumplings, plus a fresh salad bar, desert bar that includes 4 flavors of self serve scoop ice cream....and that's just to name a few! Nice variety: several meats including great, moist barbeque pork, fried chicken, fried fish and a fourth that changes daily; a dozen vegetables, all tasty; peach cobbler plus a dessert bar; salad bar and less than $9! We stopped here Sunday for lunch on a recent trip. Plain, not fancy surroundings, but the food is great. We had the buffet and the chicken and dumplings were as good as my grandmother's! Fried chicken was a little dry, but the crust was tasty. Catfish was filets and I prefer small fish on the bone, but that's gotten ridiculously hard to find -- fish was very good, though. Pulled pork was great. "Southern Homestyle" veggies: turnip greens (DELISH!), pole beans, baked beans, boiled red potatoes, etc. Salad bar was very simple, but, with those great veggies, I didn't need a salad. Desserts, if you have room, are OK. Sunday, they had peach or blackberry cobbler -- it was the " dump" kind, not a rolled out crust, but stilll pretty good. There's ice cream if you want that on your cobbler, but it's not soft-serve. You have to scoop it. Overall, a good meal and it didn't kill my wallet. read more

It was listed as the highest rated place to eat in Corbin... We didn't read close enough, it is a buffet. I HATE buffets because of all of the coughing and sneezing, nose picking, eye rubbing, and filthy child/baby touching people do. That said I'll ignore that in my review... It was busy, close to 20 people lined up when we added our name to the list, but the wait was maybe 10mins. Lots of choices including salads and starters, they had fried catfish, fried chicken, fried shrimp, pork ribs, pulled pork. Their BBQ sauce that was on the table was solid. Many sides as well like green beans, corn, greens (were good), beets, boiled potatoes, potato salad, and they has sauerkraut but had cut up hot dogs in it... They also have a desert bar and ice cream which I did not try. Decent if you're looking for a meat and sides. The wait staff was great, the food was just ok in my opinion, but the place was packed, so obviously a local staple. Extra 1/2 star for that, and an extra1/2 star because two of us got dinner and soda for less than $30. Again, it's a buffet, but appears to be the best fare Corbin has to offer, so if you stop in Corbin you're obviously somewhat brave, might as well try the buffet! Best catfish period and very consistent. They know how to fry catfish and get it right every time. While most go for the buffet, they also have very good burgers. In fact, best burgers in town. During lunch BBQ is limited to pulled pork but it is very good. I also like their sauce. Staff is always friendly. They serve a lot of locals and get to know their customers. If you are wanting a great bar b que dinner come here. They have an all you can eat buffet with ribs, pulled pork, frog legs, fried fish and chicken. Plus all the fixins. The staff kept the bard well stocked with fresh food, and the steady stream of people coming to eat made us sure we made the perfect decision where to done. First of all, the waitress was rude. She brought my bill to me before I even got to take a seat. She was very nice and making sure we were comfortable though. Next, bubby's barbeque more like the only thing we make that actually tastes good is the cornbread salad. The chicken was horrible, the catfish was Ok, and the mustard greens were flavorless. I really did enjoy the cornbread salad it tastes better than most cornbread salads I have eaten. And the last thing that annoyed the crap out of me was the weird paedophile looking man that ran the cash register with a broken arm. He confused the hell out of me when I payed my bill, staring at me with a blank and weird expression. On a visit to my son's college we found this little gem. Let me just say that I am not very free with my five star reviews. I always try to list the flaws that I find, and I had to think long and hard about Bubby's flaws. All I could come up with is: 1.) the bathrooms do not have seat covers, and 2.) the ketchup was off-brand. Notice not one negative about the food, because there was none. This was down-home, southern, country, sitting at Mammaw's dinner table food. It is a buffet, so I tried to get a little of everything. Went there last week on a Wednesday around 2PM THE FOOD WAS BELOW THERE STANDERS very poor. I hope there new place down town take awash from the place that made them. For what we had the price was way over price. I did call them when I got home and talk to someone and told them how bad it was also the food was cool coming off the line. The person that I talk to even told me the owner was there all day. Ceiling tiles were stained the place look like no one cares it's getting run down.
