This is very convenient and we appreciate having a place to bath our pup with out breaking our back over the tub! I would add another star if staff vacuumed the drying room after 2 dogs- especially when busy. We have a non-shedding dog but came home covered in other dogs hair. They also have great selection of collars, leashes, vests and toys! read more

Great grooming experience with Mallory! I dropped off my dog at 1:30 pm and a couple of hours later I received a text alerting me that she was all done. I appreciated this approach as opposed the 'drop her off anytime between 7-9 am and we'll get to her when we get to her' approach, as she didn't have to spend any more time away from home or in a kennel, than she needed to. The place is clean and super cute, staff is friendly. Oh and did I mention my dog's haircut / groom looked fabulous. Further I appreciated that my dog was not doused in strong dog cologne or any of the smelly stuff. The price was a little higher than I am used to paying for a full groom, but overall it was a good experience. Thanks BP, we will be back. read more

I will start by saying I've had wonderful experiences at their St Louis Park location and have reviewed that location accordingly. I bring my grandfathers dog in for baths regularly. He moved and this location is now closer to him, so I brought her here this time. The receptionist was extremely rude and belligerent. I had asked if one of the groomers would have time to trim her nails, something I'd had done previously at the SLP location with no issues. There was confusion on her rabies vaccine (wasn't previously required at SLP) and the dog had an up to date tag, but the vet needed to be called since the tag wasn't within a year (even though she received a 3 year vaccine). When I tried to clarify what the receptionist wanted she started snapping at me and got even ruder (didn't think it was possible). She placed a very quick call to the vets office and supposedly got the OK on the rabies vaccine, ran to the back for about 20 seconds and came back and told me the groomers didn't have time to trim the nails (it says on the site no appointment necessary, so heads up to all, appointment IS necessary!) I'm not actually sure she even asked the groomers if they had time (my sister was with me and agreed, it felt like she told us no out of spite since we questioned her on the rabies vaccine). I had also asked if a groomer happened to be free if they could do some minor trimming on her paws, if not, it wasn't a big deal. She got snarky with me and said an appointment was required for something like that. That was fine (I just figured I'd ask and see if a groomer happened to be free), but the attitude wasn't appreciated. I then asked if I could trim them myself since I had a clipper in my car and was told "well we don't like you to but we can't stop you if you do it" so yes or no? I ended up trimming her in my grandfathers driveway. Overall I like the setup, I've met and spoken with the owner, Keith, at the SLP location a couple times and he's always been very nice, informative and helpful there (along with every other employee there), but this girl has completely ruined this location for me. Great place!!!!! The service was fantastic and they helped us with the grooming we struggled with. The place is well kept up and is very clean. There was not stinky dog odor in the building. They provided all the things needed to make our dog the best looking and smelling on the block. The tub was a perfect height and the shampoo worked and smelled great. They also offered free toothbrushes, ear cleaner, and many more things. I will definitely return to this location. A+ read more

This was my first time here. I had scheduled a full service bath but work got in the way so SLIGHTLY less than 24 hours in advance I changed the services to just a nail trim. I showed up for the appointment and got my dogs nails trimmed and then was informed that since I cancelled they would be charging me for the bath ( $55) on top of the nail trim. The bath would have included a nail trim. I explained that I didn't cancel but rather changed what services my dog would receive. The manager, in her pajamas with Starbucks in hand, refused to listen so I asked them to just do the bath and she responded with I had already cancelled so there was no way they could do the originally booked service. The kicker I s that there were no other dogs in the salon. Just a reminder to this manager that you run a place where you WASH DOGS. This is not some prestigious preschool I'm trying to get my child into. Needless to say we will not be coming back and I am watching my bank account in case she tries to charge me. I did not raise my voice once and your need to call out my financial situation is less than professional. Check your cameras again and really let me know what she was wearing. read more

My wife and I recently brought in our two dogs for their first time at the groomer and we choose Bubbly Paws in St. Paul based on others reviews, the services they provide, and the price that we were told it would cost. When we dropped the dogs off we were told the run down of what their procedure was for the "pup cut", a dogs first time at the groomer. We were told that they would get the fur on their face trimmed, the fur on their paws trimmed, their nails trimmed, and a bath and blow dry. We were also told that it was going to cost us $45 per dog for this option. We did not want to do a full grooming because it was the dogs first time at the groomers and did not want them to be too uncomfortable. Upon coming to pick up our dogs following the completion of their appointment we were mortified with the cut that they had received. Their ears had been completely shaved to the skin and the fur around their eyes was cut much shorter than we had asked for. One of the dogs also only got half their face cut and we had to fix it when we got home!!! We were even more shocked when we were told the price. We were expecting around $100 total for the two dogs based on what we were told the pup cut cost, $45 per dog + tax. The groomer told us that it would be $180 for both dogs. We thought this was crazy based on what we were originally quoted. The groomer informed us that there was upcharges for the dogs having a mat in their fur, and for their fur being "extra fluffy and long". This doubled our total bill and really gave us a bad feeling about Bubbly Paws. I would caution anyone from bringing their pet to any of the Bubbly Paws locations without first getting a very thorough run down of all the charges for their pets grooming. I do not want our experience to happen to any other pet owner. Needless to say we will never be bringing our two dogs back to Bubbly Paws. This can serve as a warning to anyone that is thinking of bringing their pet to Bubbly Paws. read more

Our dog is very anxious about getting his nails cut. We have tried other grooming options, but could not find a place to clip his nails. Our vet recommended either sedating him during trims or going to Bubbly Paws. Bubbly Paws did a great job of bathing and grooming him, and the staff was very patient when he cried while getting his nails clipped. Great place to take any dog! read more

I had the worst groom here! Cool to be able to wash your own dog here if that's your thing, but a professional groom... horrible! My dog came out still damp and looking like a chopped up freak! They clearly don't know how to groom. read more

I love this place. I have a Border Terrier and as such she doesn't get bathed, but does need to get stripped once every four months or so. They allow me to pay the bath fee and use their drying area to strip my dog. It takes me 2-3 hours and creates a LOT of messy hair everywhere. Way better than having to do this in my own condo! Well worth the money and a good tip to the employees! read more

I have been coming here for over 2 years now with my 55lb dog for the self-service dog wash. Love the tubs, the great water pressure and they are fine with me bringing in my own dog shampoo and conditoner. There are always plenty of towels and a variety of dog brushes that are available for use on your pooch. Staff is friendly, and it's fun to pick out a super cool dog treat for purchase as a reward for my pup. I also get my dog's nails trimmed here regularly. So easy to call ahead to find out if the groomer has the time to do the trim. My dog loves it here and I love not having to create a big mess at home. read more

My sweet Boston Terrier Miss Piggy becomes a monster when its time for nail trims. I took her to other places to get her nails trimmed, and was told by the staff that she needed to be muzzled if I wanted to bring her in again. I took her to Bubbly Paws the next time and warned the groomer of her temper. The groomer and other staff at BP were so great and calming with her, they were able to get her in and out within 5 minutes, and with not so much as a growl or whine. They said she behaved perfectly! I believe its all about the staff and the environment, and BP has it all! read more

I have brought my dog in a few time before and really enjoyed the experience she had there. The staff was always friendly and our dog would look and smell great. However, the last experience I had was not a positive one. I brought my goldendoodle in to be groomed with the groomer we saw last time because I liked the way she made my dog look. Before she took her back she had me sign a contract saying she would have to shave some matting under neck; which I understood because I could feel them and actually trimmed out some of it myself. Anyways, I picked up my dog and she looked great, but after a couple hours of being home I noticed she kept licking her behind and around her tail. I took a peek at what was going on and she had terrible razor burn around her anus and up her tail. My poor dog kept scooting, licking and pacing around being that she was uncomfortable. My dog does get matting, BUT definitely not to the extreme of needing to shave her down to her skin in a sensitive area with a hot blade. I've dematted my dog before with a pair of scissors and brushed her once and they came out. Also, My dog has never had matting around her behind area! I brought her in to the vet and the vet said the groomer should have been more careful in such a sensitive area as she definitely had razor burn. I sent Lil (one of the managers - who is very nice) an email where she forwarded it to the owner. In my email I explained how I was disappointed with the service as it could have been prevented and how my dog was now clearly uncomfortable from the razor burn. I also attached photos of the area. The owner then emails me back saying, "I am so sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with our service." Then basically goes on saying you signed a contract and we didn't do anything wrong. First, I know my dogs hair, she has more golden retriever hair type and it does not get that matted to be shaved to her skin. Second, the razor burn in that area was totally preventable and like I said she did not have matting back there. Third, I believe the groomer was at the end of the groom and the razor was hot and she proceeded to shave my dog in a sensitive area. Instead of taking accountability for the mistake they blamed it on matting and since I signed a contract they didn't do anything wrong. The owner was ver unapologetic in his email and had no concern for my dog. If he would have said something along the lines of ..."I'm sorry to hear your dog is uncomfortable, it is in the contract there are risks with matting and shaving them, but we'd like to take a look at what happened in person, please bring your dog in so we can try to make her feel better." I would have felt like the owner actually cared but instead he came off remorseless. Oh and when you are responding back to a customer in an email you should spell their name right. Again, just blatant carelessness about our situation. We will not be going back mostly due to the way the owner handled the situation. I get groomers can make mistakes, but when you are an owner you should make sure your clients are taken care of especially when you pay $99 dollars for a groom! read more
