I came to BubbleCups on a trip up to Santa Rosa and brought some out of town friends here. BubbleCups is an interesting spot in the strip mall that features a variety of SE Asian cuisines that can be inviting, homey, and dare I say even a little hole in the wall? FOOD: BBQ Pork over Noodles, Chicken Curry with Rice, Tempura, and a coconut drink with basil seeds. The BBQ Pork reminded me of what I grew up eating at Vietnamese restaurants. Well grilled. The Chicken Curry was something a bit more homemade. Nothing too fancy with pieces of chicken thigh, potatoes, and much curry. So filling. And the tempura was fried to perfection. I think their drinks are probably very unique, especially if you have not been to Malaysia/Singapore. They definitely add those familiar flavors that cools you off from a hot Santa Rosa day. SERVICE: Completely fine. Overall, BubbleCups fills its own niche of a restaurant that is fast casual and serves people who may not be so well-versed in SE Asian cuisine and who wants just some familiar Chinese food. The lady was sitting in the lobby with her family and looked annoyed she had to get up to come to the register. I had no idea what to get because there are menus everywhere you looked. I ordered a milk tea because I had it before and it came warm. She stirred it in front of me and put a little ice and it was melted and warm. I didn't drink it and didn't feel comfortable saying anything. She definitely rolled her eyes when we walked out. I was looking to try a new boba place, I found BubbleCups here on Yelp so I decided to stop there and give it a shot. The place is a good size, with tons of Milk Tea options and a huge food menu! I was in a rush so I didn't order food but I will definitely return to try it. I ordered a regular Jasmine Milk Tea with light boba in the cute cup that looks like a light bulb! The cup is so cute, if you return and bring the cup, you get 25 cents off.. I wish it was a little more considering the fact that my drink was $5 but it's okay. The lady working there told me she uses it as a vase so I might do that. It took 10 minutes for my friend and I to get our drinks, a little slower than what I'm used to from the other Boba places I've been to. My friend ordered a Thai Tea which was DELICIOUS! My tea was very good as well, I'm knocking off 1 star because there was not enough ice in my cup so my drink was lukewarm. Tried BubbleCups food today and it is so very good! The staff there are so very friendly and helpful. Went in just for one of their unique drinks but saw all of the delicious food options. We ordered one pork banh mi sandwich and two lemongrass chicken banh mi along with an order of spam musubi with our always delicious drinks. Not my cup of tea. First off, the drinks are completely OVERPRICED -- $15 bucks for two drinks (I mean is this a Bar or a Boba joint)??? Mind you it was a split cup drink but still! Secondly, I placed an order for a split cup, one with thai tea and coconut milk tea and another for thai tea and vietnamese coffee. Hmmm what did I end up getting??? two damn thai tea and coconut milk teas....seriously people GET it together. Luckily, the barista was able to make this quick fix and give me the order that I actually placed and she quickly apologized for the mishap. But as far as quality and taste, the thai tea was wayyyy too sweet and the coconut milk tea was mediocre -- it felt like they just dunked coconut milk with a generic tea bag -- bleh. Anyways, I'm not sure if I'll come back :-( maybe if they work on the revamping the menu and prices. read more

I love this place. I drove by and was so excited to see a boba place so close to my house. I went there with my cousin's, one got taro (drank the whole thing before we left!), The other strawberry (great flavor he said) and I got passion fruit. It was the closest passion fruit flavor I have had to the real fruit. Awesome! It's family owned and operated for now. Very nice people!
