Update: they no longer have a physical location, but they're still doing catering! I was a bit bummed when I found out that their physical location closed down, but then I discovered that they continued serving popups and events and decided to shoot my shot in asking if they could drive all the way from Brentwood to Morgan Hill to cater for my wedding. They said yes! The shave ice quality was still as good as I remembered. My guests loved it too! read more

Aloha Ice - Shaved Ice Near Me

Sticky table tops come with the territory! We stand by "Aloha Ice" That being said, I'm in no position to tell any business owners when, what or how to go about and run their businesses, but as a "small family business" supporter, we try to plan our "weekly dates" by checking their schedule on IG & FB or at times, I'll simply DM and ask if they're open on a certain date, no biggie. Aloha Ice falls into its own category. Having visited Kauai and Oahu multiple times, we have yet to discover any shave ice as good as Aloha Ice. Everything they serve is homemade especially the syrups! Their range of flavors simply cannot be compared to just any other "Torani" syrup, Rita's Italian Ice, 7/11 Icee or any sno-cone out there portraying to be "shave ice." read more

I couldn't pass up on halo halo so I just had to get it!! I do want to try the Ube UBELICIOUS, lava flow and unicorn or aloha surprise I love the space with all the murals. The presentation of their halo halo is cute and the way it was displayed as well giving the impression it will taste amazing and guess what, it is!! I think the shaved ice is delicious but when it melts to liquid it's very sweet and creamy so I suggest enjoying with someone too because I am so looking forward to bring others here for a cool and sweet treat. Staff was kind and sweet. I did ask to not include coconut shavings but they call it coconut strips but luckily it was easy to take out than how most halo halo has it under the ice like even premade already, just got a cup and took it out. Parking seems crazy because of the buffet near by with people waiting around outside but I was able to find a convenient way in Coming back again soon summer 2025 read more

I first had Aloha Ice back when they just opened, maybe in 2022! Fast forward three years, and now they're catering at my kid's school. The consistency they've maintained over the years is honestly unmatched. Their "shaved ice" isn't even in comparison to others--it's smoother, softer, and yes, definitely goes neck and neck with Matsumoto's in North Shore for me (yep, I said it!!!). What really sets them apart is the full experience. Whether you're at a catered event or visiting the shop, their service is always top-tier. The staff is friendly, patient, and genuinely happy to be there! Always laughing behind the counter and ready to help you pick the perfect flavor (or help clean up after your kid's spills). It feels welcoming, homey, and full of aloha. The shop itself is spotless, cool, and has plenty of space to sit and relax. Whether you're with friends, family, or just sharing a table with a friendly stranger on a hot day. I got the ube overload--just a regular size--and my son devoured mine before finishing his own. The flavor is rich and true, and the ice cream on top melts right into the shaved ice like a dream. It's smooth, flavorful, and somehow never gives you brain freeze or scrapes the roof of your mouth. Definitely turning this into a monthly treat. 100/10 recommend--even on a cold day. :) read more

I typically don't love or care of Hawaiian shave ice. I'm use to icee sugary snow cone texture Until I tired Aloha Ice!!!!! It's nothing like I had before. There ice literally melts in your mouth!! WOWZA! So far one of the best shaved ice I've had in the Bay Area CA! This place totally topped it off with their soft shaver maker and condensed milk giving you that Hawaiian memory (if you've tried HI version). 10/10 for sure! My husband's family took us here when we came to visit for the long holiday weekend and with the weather being hot while we were there, this was definitely much needed. Their menu wasn't overwhelming and they also had a menu that has some sweet and neat ideas already if you don't want to make your own version. I chose my own and picked out flavors that I chose a lot when I was in Hawaii. I totally reminisced. My husband and I also tried what his family ordered and got the awesome taste of other flavors, all good. I'd really love to come back here again the next time we come visit. So if you're ever in the near area, come get a taste of Hawaii! read more

Wasn't sure what to expect but this was super delicious & refreshing! They were pretty busy today (it was 105 out) but the service was pretty quick. The staff are friendly & it's very vibey/modern inside. You get a lot! I could probably share a small haha. Also... we are huge ube critics & their ube is spot on, I can probably guarantee they use magnolia brand ice cream lol. Definitely will be back to try more! read more

We ordered sugar free mango/strawberry with condensed milk. I am not sure if I just ordered the wrong item but our order was bland and we couldn't taste the flavors. We actually threw it away. Very disappointed. We've had plenty of shaved ice from Hawaii so while we're not experts, I don't think we had unrealistic expectations. Service was functional and the decor is super cute inside the store. Plenty of free parking in strip mall lot. Update: I was really impressed the business owner responded so quickly to the feedback within 24hrs and proactively applied a refund. We didn't request the refund nor expect one at all. It's clear the business cares about their customer and customer experience. read more

First time visit in travel to Brentwood, and immediately captured by the very clean and island-vibe atmosphere. Full wall mural, social media background, clear menu. The photos showing what the speciality Ice's look like was very helpful, especially since they say what flavors are in it. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The cashier was super patient, took time to explain the rewards program, and thanked us as we were leaving. Service and ambiance alone make this place worthy to visit. For the ice, while they carry a higher than normal price, they stack it up pretty high. The ice is grounded very fine, leaving a nice soft texture that is perfect for the season. I also appreciate the concept of the toppings and tropical ice cream being optional add one. My only qualm is that the pour of the syrup was extremely heavy handed. The final syrup has authentic Hawaiian flavors but it was way too sweet, even with the condensed milk. I admittedly couldn't get through half of the regular size. Even then, I would still come back and request if they can keep it to a light pour. Generally a great spot, and I hope they find a good balance of flavors that mimic the great bingsoos around the bay area. read more

Found my new shave ice spot! Literally better than the ones we usually get in Hawaii. Ice texture is perfect -- not too big/gritty and fine enough to hold the syrup well without a crazy pool of it at the bottom. I got the Lava Flow bc I'm obsessed with anything Li Hing Mui. It came with a bit of condensed milk which was sort of the cherry on top for me. I will get this again next time for sure. Bonus: Great service from the staff. They were informative & attentive. The ambiance is fun, clean & comfy + good Hawaiian playlist in the background. Highly recommended! read more

If you are looking for a treat that any age will like, THIS is the spot! Like I said before this place is a hidden gem! Right off of Lone Tree Way it's on the corner in the same shopping center as the Salvation army and Lollipop haircuts. Parking is never a problem as there is a large lot out front. The shaved ice is delicious- my personal favorite is the Ubelicious. Make sure to order a regular as it has ice cream on top and I think it's Ube ice cream on the bottom. The shaved ice is pillowy soft, my kids go crazy for this place. They like the sillier versions; usually just cotton candy flavoring. I have tried the root beer floater shaved ice cream (yum!) but one I found ubelicious that has been my go to. Maybe in the future I'll venture out, The place is beautifully decorated, great if you want some fun instagram worthy pictures. It's bright and the staff are nothing but helpful, warm, and welcoming. Long line but quick ordering. The wait was too long to recieve ur order. In $9, we ordered a medium shaved ice cup which came with 3 flavors of our choice and topped with vanilla ice cream and condensed milk ($1 additional) the portion size was good but the condensed milk could hardly be tasted/ seen :( and the strawberry syrup was toooooo sweet :( and i couldnt taste the coconut flavor at all. On a hot day, this is a perfect treat. I went in June but lines were still out the door. Went back in July and no line during the weekday. It's a little overwhelming but I didn't know the photos near the register are types of shave ice. I made my own in regular with scoop of coconut ice cream, haupia, and peach flavors. Regular size was too much for me and it was super sweet. The coconut ice cream is simply delicious. The espresso one was way too strong but I think that's how espresso is supposed to be. Place is little small so seating can be limited if there are big groups ... we loved the vibe beautifully decorated with bright colors. Ordering was very easy the staff helped us since it was our 1st time here they informed us about the choices either order from the menu displayed on the wall if u wanted to make something special or from their selection of ice cream . We choose Sweet dream and Summer Breeze both the choices were superb we enjoyed the flavors very much perfect for summer season. Two years?!! I have missed this gem for two years! I just recently ran across a local based social media post celebrating this business and their two year anniversary. I admit that I had more likely than not seen their sign from the main street while running to and from work or on errands but thought, nah, I haven't heard of them from anyone I know so they are more than likely just like all the others. Took two of my daughters and my grandson to check them out and we were NOT disappointed. It took my daughters quite some time to choose the flavors that they wanted but the staff were well versed in the Aloha spirit and did not make them feel rushed at all. The space is not large but it is designed well. Exceptionally clean and not lacking on the island-vibe. I went with a basic coconut over azuki beans (yes, I said azuki beans!!! - they have them) topped with condensed milk. Guava, POG and mango with ice cream for one daughter and Tiger's Blood, Lychee and Haupia for the other daughter both topped with Li Hing Mui powder. Portion sizes are much larger than expected but definitely welcomed. The only thing missing was the trip to the beach beforehand. Hands down my go-to for a taste of Hawaii. I have made sure to share pictures with the family back home on Maui that I have finally found a brick-and-mortar location that can sustain a piece of home between visits. I hope you guys thrive here, I will be spreading the word. read more

Wowzaaas! This place definitely took me back to Hawaii and hit the spot on a hot day! The ice is so fine and the flavors were sooooo good. We got 3 regular size treats and each came with a choice of three flavors, add ice cream and toppings. Here's what we went with this time: -Ubelicious (Ube, coconut with Ube & macapuno ice cream and Ube condensed milk) -Coconut, POG, Guava -Unicorn Surprise (Banana, Bubble gum & Cotton Candy) My typical go-to flavors are always Coconut (clear) and Lilikoi (passion fruit) and unfortunately this place doesn't have the Lilikoi flavor, so I was a little disappointed by that (since I use those flavors to compare from spot to spot) however I got the next best thing... POG and Guava! ...keeping my fingers crossed to see my Lilikoi flavor available in the future! The location is easy to access right off the freeway if you're just passing by and don't live in Brentwood and parking was also a breeze. The shopping center it's located in is busy but we didn't have an issue finding parking in close proximity even with a lot of patrons coming and going. The inside is bright and clean. Very inviting, and has great vibes. Place your order and step aside and wait for your order to be called. Watch the magic happen while you wait. The owner was working the shave ice machine and cranking them out, he also made sure to acknowledge me when leaving by thanking us for stopping by (eventhough it was extreamly busy), which I love! Everyone was happy with the onolicious shave ice and we can't wait to return to try more flavors! PS: my kid said this spot even beats some of the spots we've tried in Oahu! read more

I go to Hawaii quite frequently and have had shaved ice on the islands. I'm sort of an expert on this. The 1st time I was told about Aloha Ice, I was skeptical but let me tell you this, Aloha Ice in Brentwood makes the island shaved ice looks like rookies. I'm so happy that I got introduced to this place. I go at least once a week to get my shaved ice fix. And the many many flavors are over the top. Every time I go there, I get a different flavor. As we say on the islands, ONO GRINDS. I highly recommend this place at 6271 Lone Tree Way in Brentwood, California. The owners and staff are great! read more

I'm going to give this place a 4/5. Because of seating. You def can't come here with a large group. The ambience is cool with the island vibes. The service was nice as the cashier was very sweet and helpful when making a decision. The shave ice was pretty good , I would def visit again. Jt gave us a small reminder of Hawaii for sure . Just know if you come with a large group it will be hard for seating. I think they would benefit by add a long bench along the wall to get more seating. But then again maybe this is a place where they just want you to hurry up , eat and go. If I stayed longer with my party we probably woulda bought like 2/3 more. read more

This location is honestly a SAVIOR, especially in our area because of when summer comes around I'm already knowing the lines are going to be out the door. We came in yesterday because I've been dying to try this place out because of our yearly trips to Hawaii and it was really good to see something like this out here. Anyways, who doesn't like eating something cold during the winter - LOL we do! Me and my cousin came in here after eating and I got the Lava Flow because I get anything with Li-Hing Mui and it honestly felt like I spaced out and thought to myself how much I miss the Islands. If it doesn't have you day dreaming, than you need to order another shave ice. The employee's here are super nice and you can tell its very much family orientated and you can feel it when they work together. This business was definitely NEEDED in this area and I can say that I'm GRATEFUL for it. Also, a insider with the workers there that day: I posted the picture of my cousin to make sure that you serve her OUTSIDE - LOL! Cause let me tell YALL! Back for a second trip and it's just as good as the first time! Aloha Ice really is something special with their delicious flavors and the softest ice. I've said it once and I'll say it again that Aloha Ice is the best Hawaiian shaved ice I've found this side of the pacific and competes with the best shops I've tried in Hawaii. So far I've tried the Hulk, Ubelicious, Summer Breeze and Eye of the Thai-ger. All were absolutely amazing! The Hulk is a mix of Pandan and Ube with Ube Macapuno and vanilla ice-cream and a drizzle of ube condensed milk. The Ubelicious is an Ube and Macapuno delight which comes with Macapuno and Ube ice-cream then an Ube condensed milk drizzle. Both were mind blowing. Summer breeze was a combination of peach, mango and guava with vanilla ice-cream and condensed milk. The Eye of the Thai-ger was a blast of thai tea flavor with ice-cream, condensed milk and tapioca boba pearls. My husband and I ran over after work both times we've visited and had this as our dinner. It's that good and very filling. They weren't busy when we got there but they have a nice little gathering both times as we were leaving. The owners remembered us on our second trip and are so nice. They are wonderful and really care about their product and experience. Can't wait to come back and try even more flavors! Glad to support such a great shop and family! read more

At first it took me a while to find this place only because the navigation gave me the wrong location. Finally, the taste of the island in the form of the venerable shave ice right here at the heart of Brentwood, chehoo! We descended upon Aloha Ice with much anticipation. Maybe I haven't not been all around the bay, but I have not yet seen or tired any shaved ice here on the mainland. Nor do I expect it to be just as good as the one's on the island. Entering the store, it is adorned with cool logo style of Aloha Ice. And the coolness continues into the store, with a giant Aloha Ice mural and another Instagram'able wall on the other side. Checking out their menu, I could see that I am in for a treat. There are your typical Hawaiian toppings that can be had on your shave ice, and more. Boba?! Why didn't I think of that? Anyways I chose their Unicorn Shave Ice. The first scoop of the dessert, I was surprised. 'What?! This is so fine! ' The ice is so fine and fluffy, I remembered Wailua Shave Ice in Kauai of which I truly enjoyed. I continued to dig in to the treat and it legitimately brings me back to the Islands. The flavored syrup is real, and the surprise treat of an ice cream at the bottom is much appreciated. The big bonus uniquely to Aloha Ice is that the boba topping (albeit, my wife's shave ice) totally works. Aloha Ice is a solid 4-stars, bordering 5-stars. And let me bring the 4-stars into context. There is no handicap here just because it is located in my hometown in the contiguous 48 states. Aloha Ice is 4-stars, whether it be in the islands or the mainland. That my friend, speaks volumes as to how much I really enjoyed Aloha Ice. I cannot express how ice makes or breaks shave ice. And Aloha Ice brings it and brings it fine. Broke da mouth at Aloha Ice. read more

Aloha Ice is new dessert place in Brentwood. Growing up in Hawaii, I wanted to try Aloha Ice to see how the shave ice is. The good news is that the ice is shaved to the right finest where the syrup can seep through the "snow" and distribute perfectly through out the entire shave ice. If the ice is too big, the syrup will go straight to the bottom and not distribute well. If the shave ice is too fine, the syrup will tend to not penetrate the shave ice when packed and will stay mostly on the surface. In this instance, when you scoop the shave ice, you'll see all white center where the syrup didn't penetrate. The staff were helpful and care what about the quality of the shave ice made. Someone will be coming around and asking you how everything is, which is a nice show of caring. Aloha Ice uses the shave ice machine similar to the ones used in Hawaii. The blade setting is perfect. For the shave ice particle size, I rate it 5/5! Syrup Flavors POG (passion fruit, orange, guava) - 3.5/5 It has more of an orange-tropical fruit flavor. I'm used to detecting flavors of passion fruit with overtone of guava and a orange after taste. You get those identifiable flavors from POG shave ice at Island Snow, Matsumoto, and Waiola Shave ice in Hawaii. Aloha Ice POG is not bad, it has a tropical flavor, but not the POG that I am accustom to. Pineapple - 5/5 This syrup pineapple flavor is spot on! Guava - 3.5/5 Again, not pure guava flavor. More of a mixture tropical fruits with hints of guava. Mango - 3/5 Unless the manufacture uses at least 70% real mango purée in the making of their syrup, it is hard to match the pure mango flavor. This syrup has more of peach-like flavor mixed with other tropical fruits. Overall, the syrup flavors of mango, guava and passion fruit misses the mark. Is it bad? Absolutely not. The syrups representing the reviewed tropical fruits does have a nice tropical flavor and will be enjoyed by individuals who do not really know the difference. That is fine. But if you grew up around these flavors, you would want to the flavors to be more on point. The small size is the size of a keiki (child's) size in Hawaii, and the regular size here is the size of a small in Hawaii. I also thought the price was a little steep for shave ice. It is difficult to compare shave ice made in California to that made in Hawaii. That said, I do not know the cost of the rent, labor, etc. I will be going back to support Aloha Ice to satisfy shave ice cravings. read more
