Great food truck located in the town of Guerneville serving up classic Indian food…read more I snagged some dishes for dinner from Jay's on a weekday evening. It wasn't busy, and the gentleman working was very nice, offering me samples of masala chai and dal before I made a final decision on my order. You won't find any amazing vibes here. It's just the truck on the side of the road, but the food is great! I really enjoyed the butter chicken. It was a tad spicy for my kids, and butter chicken usually isn't, but perfect for me. My grandma enjoyed the veggies and dal dish. The naan wasn't perfectly fresh, but good nonetheless. This certainly isn't the best indian food I have ever had, but it does the job and is really your only option for indian in this area. I felt like the prices were fair given the portions. While visiting Guerneville, I tried all three of the local permanent food trucks. They are all worth trying, but if I had to rate them, Jays Taste of India would be in second place out of the three. The serving size is enormous, the flavors fun and delicious, and the quality is top notch. A perfect addition to the town of Monte Rio, and an outing that has become pretty special for our family. While the tacos are great and loaded with protein and classic toppings, the Mexican hot dog is one of their specialties and very tasty! It's also a fantastic value. The ambiance isn't much as it's a food truck in a grocery store parking lot, though they do have a few picnic tables available. This is a great spot to grab and go and eat at home. What a delightful market this is, a must stop during any road trip up this way. You can get nearly anything you'd ever need from toothpaste, milk, cheese, chips, detergent, on and on... they even have two gas pumps. They sell ice too. There's a small cafe serving incredibly good things, including hand made sandwiches (we had a 'Rocketman' and an 'Architect'... being an Architect I loved being so honored!). Both sandwiches were utterly fresh, delicious and tasty. They have several specialty type sandwiches, as were these two, or you may customize one. They sell coffees and other drinks too. There's a bar type set up and a cozy back area for sitting to eat, plus some outdoor places too. The store is simple, rustic but ever so comfortable, organized and clean. The people working here are upbeat and friendly and you feel so welcomed, and utterly pleased you came in to get something. Great place for a drink, snack or basic groceries and product. It's a popular and convenient stop along the coast just north of Fort Ross State Park, before you hit Timber Cove and Salt Point. First off, it's a women-owned business. Yay! If you're lucky, you might meet the owner, she's super sweet. The atmosphere is welcoming, clean and chic. It's a mix of midcentury modern with a side of hipster vibes. I loved the interior decorating as well... especially the beautifully painted ice cream art on the wall. It was the prettiest and most spacious ice cream joint I've visited. I got a double scoop. Pear Caramel and Lavender Honeycomb! Loved the honeycomb bits mixed in the lavender. The ice cream was smooth and creamy and the flavors popped. Very satisfied with the ice cream here and would like to try some of their other flavors in the future. They not only have delicious ice cream, but they provide beer, cider, ice cream cocktails, and a variety of grilled cheese sandwiches. Found out there's a daily Happy Hour from 3pm-6pm!
